Chapter 332
Chapter 332
Celeste’s eyes went wide, and she quickly turned to ask in shock, “What did you just say?”
Kaylee smirked. “I’m saying the Campbell family’s talent for blackmailing is definitely a family tradition. Your auntie is way more decent than you
guys.”
Celeste, taking a call while walking out, said. “Where are we meeting tonight? Twilight Bar again? Alright, see you tonight…
Watching her leave, Celeste’s eyes gradually turned dull
Liam arranged for a specialist, Blaine, to take care of Grandpa David in the hospital
After spending some time in the hospital room, Celeste said she had to go back to work and left.
Liam sat in the room, peeling some fruits for the old man
David had no appetite and said quietly. You go back too Letti seems to be in a bad mood today, you should go keep her company.”
Liam thought of the look on Celeste’s face at that moment and felt uneasy
He whispered, “Have some more fruits, and I’ll go.”
David stuffed some fruits into his mouth, and waved him away. “Go on. I want to sleep.”
After leaving his contact info with Elaine, Liam left the hospital.
Owen was waiting for him downstairs. As soon as he got in the cat Owen asked, “Mr. Reed, where are we going?”
To the set of Mastermind of Law.”
Owen immediately turned the car around.
On the way, Liam took a bank card out of his pocket, given to him by Grandpa David.
Grandpa David said it was an additional gift for Letti
A bigger sum of money would make Letti more respected in her in–law’s family.
Just a few days in town, and Grandpa David already had these thoughts.
Liam thought about what Kaylee said in the surveillance footage, clenched the card, and said, “Cancel Kaylee’s bank and credit cards, and tell the company’s finance department to refuse any of their requests for money, except for the quarterly dividends!”
Owen was really surprised.
Here, “their” obviously meant not only Kaylee but also Skyler.
Initially, the mother–daughter pair relied on the company’s quarterly dividends to cover their living expenses. However, given the low percentage. they received less than one million per month, which proved inadequate to sustain their extravagant spending habits.
After Liam started working, Skyler began taking money from the company, a fixed five million a month.
Liam didn’t like the hassle. Skyler once made a fuss about money, and he tolerated her actions since then, drawing five million from his account every month to ensure their expenses.
Over the years, this five million has maintained Skyler’s extravagant lifestyle. Now, due to Grandpa David’s situation, Liam decided to cut off their lifeline. It would undoubtedly stir up a storm.
Seems like Liam was genuinely angry this time.
When their car arrived at the destination, only a few crew members were cleaning up the set. Celeste was nowhere to be seen.
Owen asked the crew, who mistook him for a fan, and they told him that Celeste didn’t have a shooting schedule today.
Owen rushed back to tell Liam the news, “You said she didn’t show up for shooting today?”
The crew member said so, and they already packed up the equipment.”
Liam frowned, took out his phone, and called Celeste.
At the moment, Celeste was in a car on the side of the street, staring at the bar across the road.
Seeing the incoming call, she expressionlessly turned her phone to silent mode.
Liam looked at the unanswered call, furrowing his brow.
Twilight Bar.
“I thought it would be a big deal, is that it?” The guys laughed after hearing Kaylee’s words.
“That old man’s pretty tough. Wasn’t even hurt?”
“Didn’t you hear Kaylee? He had a seizure! It had nothing to do with her!” Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“They’re such wimps, and the Campbells don’t dare talk back even after collecting the money!”
“Why did your bro marry Celeste when he’s so amazing?”
Kaylee took a sip of beer and snorted, “She has a pretty face, what else? Aren’t all men the same? If you had her good looks, I’d tell my brother to marry you immediately!”
“Ugh, am I worse–looking than Celeste?”
Another one spoke, “I don’t like Celeste either, but I’m not blind–she’s way prettier. Keep getting plastic surgery, though.”
Everyone laughed, and the atmosphere was lively.
In the middle of the drinks, Kaylee stood up and said, “You guys have fun, I’m going to the bathroom.”
A guy followed her, “I’ll go with you.”
“To the women’s room?” Kaylee kicked his leg and said, “Get lost.”
Then she staggered to the bathroom.
“Just give up–Kaylee has someone she likes.”
That guy glanced around, “Anything is possible if they’re not married.”
Kaylee came out of the stall, washed her hands, and felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned, and a towel covered her face.
Immediately sobering up, Kaylee’s eyes widened in terror. She struggled hard.
But the fumes were too much, and she lost her strength in no time, falling unconscious.
“I didn’t drink. I took a client home.”
Steven was explaining his itinerary to his sister in his car.
“Do you not trust me? Does your brother have no credibility with you?”
He laughed at whatever she said, “Fine, you can check later.”
During the conversation, he glanced out the window and froze.
He witnessed two individuals forcibly placing an unconscious girl into a black SUV. Celeste was present in the vehicle, her hood pulled up to conceal her identity.
His eyes met hers, and Steven was stunned.
