Chapter 305
Chapter 305
Celeste whispered, “If the boat rocks again, you can use me to protect you. I’m not just here to cause you trouble.”
Liam paused for a moment and hugged her tightly, “Others‘ husbands respect and take care of their wives. But I always blame my wife when something goes wrong, and now she even has to protect me. What the hell kind of husband am I?”
Liam, this man, he still remembers all their arguments from the past.
“Mr. Reed…”
“Enough, if you’re tired, just sleep.”
Celeste closed her mouth.
The boat was still rocking, and Liam’s hot body temperature was comforting. In the midst of the turmoil, she quietly closed her eyes.
The storm didn’t stop until late into the night. When Celeste woke up, she was already lying in bed.
She stirred, and found Liam’s hand still on her waist, both of them wrapped up in the bedsheet.
Presumably, Liam tied them up while she was asleep, so they wouldn’t be thrown off and hit something while sleeping.
She didn’t wake Liam, but untied the bedsheet, got washed up, and left the room.
The deck was a total mess, with lots of fish, shrimp, and crabs washed aboard by the waves. The crew was busy cleaning up.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Celeste knocked on Grandpa David’s door, but only Owen was inside packing.
“Where’s Grandpa David?”
Owen replied, “he went to the deck to collect fish and shrimp. He wants to make seafood soup when we get back.”
Is Grandpa David really almost 90 years old? He is more spirited than her.
She looked around the deck, and finally found Grandpa David in a corner, with Mason standing next to him. Both were hunched over, discussing something.
Celeste came closer to find a sea turtle laying between them.
Grandpa David stroked his chin, “According to my many years of experience, this is most likely a female.”
Mason flipped through his phone, replying, “Its shell is longer, and there’s a V–shaped notch in the carapace at the rear. Scientifically speaking, it should be male.”
“No way! How could a male be so small?”
Mason suggested, “Could it be that it’s not yet an adult?”
“It’s so big and still not an adult?”
“Green turtles don’t reach adulthood until they’re 20 years old, at which point they grow to about 80-150 centimeters long. This one is only about 40 centimeters long, it’s still a child.”
Celeste couldn’t take it any longer.
“Grandpa David, how’d you get over here?”
The old man’s eyes lit up upon seeing Celeste, “Letti, come take a look. There’s a huge sea turtle here. Can we take it home for soup?”
Celeste’s mouth twitched, “Grandpa David, we can’t eat this turtle. We have to obey the law.”
Grandpa David frowned, “But we found it, can’t we just keep it?”
“Not even if it’s dead.” Celeste called a crew member to quickly release the turtle, lest Grandpa David remained stubborn.
“Celeste, is this your Grandpa David?”
Mason asked after observing them for some time.
Celeste immediately introduced the two to each other.
Mason is quite the chatterbox. He just spent ages discussing the gender of a turtle with Grandpa David, and they really hit it off.
After chatting for a while, Grandpa suddenly asked, “Where’s Young Reed?”
“Still in bed.”
“It’s this late and he’s still not up?”
“He went to bed pretty late last night.” Celeste was too embarrassed to mention what happened between them, mainly because she felt it was a
bit shameful.
“Go get cleaned up, and call him for breakfast.”
After saying goodbye to Mason, Celeste helped David walk back.
“Mason is more polite than Young Reed.” David suddenly said.
Celeste didn’t respond.
