Chapter 273
Chapter 273
Celeste frowned and said, “If Grandpa David wants to see Liam, I can just bring him over some day, right? If you send him here, with Liam and I both working during the day, no one will be at home to take care of him. Grandpa David is so old. What if something happens? Isn’t that asking for trouble?” Then she muttered under her breath, “Liam’s just an ordinary person. There’s nothing special to look at.”
Liam remained silent by her side.
Shawn scolded her, “How can you talk like that? When you used to visit your hometown, your grandpa was the one who spoiled you the most, preparing all the best food and fun for you. He’s not getting any younger, and he just wants to fulfill a wish in his lifetime, to see how well you guys are doing. Is that too much to ask? Besides, when Liam’s at work, aren’t you at home? I already agreed to it, and now you’re going back on your word? Isn’t that causing me trouble? Give the phone to Liam. I’ll talk to him.”
He agreed without even asking for her opinion, and now he blamed her?
Talking to Liam would be no different than talking to her directly. Liam was very particular and wouldn’t like strangers staying at their house, disrupting his life.
Celeste thought for a moment and decided to let Liam take the call. Maybe after hearing some of his sharp words, Shawn would change his mind.
So she handed the phone to Liam, “My dad wants to talk to you!”
Liam glanced at her and took the phone.
Celeste’s sleepiness vanished. She prepared to watch how Liam would sharply respond to Shawn.
After Shawn finished speaking, Liam calmly replied, “Alright, I’ll have someone clean up the guest room tomorrow.”
Celeste was speechless.
After Liam hung up the phone, Celeste said in disbelief, “You agreed?”
Liam handed her the phone, “Your dad already said so much. How could I refuse?”
Bullshit!
He couldn’t refuse? He’d had no problem refusing before!
What’s gotten into him?
Celeste reluctantly said, “Since you agreed to let him stay, he’ll be your responsibility. I didn’t agree to it.”
Liam smiled, “Why are you so ungrateful? Who am I doing this for?”
Celeste turned her face away and mumbled, “I didn’t ask you to do it. What’s the big deal if my dad scolds me? It’s not like I’ve never been scolded before.”
Liam suddenly remembered the last time at the hospital when Celeste came back with a swollen cheek on her face from Shawn.
Just because he found out Skyler didn’t receive the two boxes of white truffles.
Shawn only seemed nice to her when he was around.
Her days in the Campbell family weren’t as easy as she thought.
He tossed and turned, eventually annoying Celeste enough that she got up and left the room with her blanket.
Liam was speechless.
He took out his phone and hesitated for a long time before sending Trisha a message, “How does Shawn treat Celeste?”
