My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel)

Chapter 373

Chapter 373

Chapter 373 Single CEO in Courtship?

Donahueiel couldn’t help but think about the past three years.

Three years, he and Janet were married, and she devoted all of herself to him.

As if she had nothing else in the world to strive or live for.

Be he kept on ignoring that. Worse, he denounced everything she did.

What was Janet Longfellow in Donahueiel’s eyes back in the day?

A Gold–digger.

Feh.

Donahueiel took a deep breath and leaned on the back of his chair, feeling lost. He closed his eyes, tryi

ng to shut out his complicated thoughts.

“I broke her heart… probably,” he thought.

Otherwise, Janet would not detest and guard up whenever she saw him.

“I baked cakes, honey! Chestnuts, your favorite. Come back soon and taste them.”

“It’s a new tie. What do you think? Took me a long time to pick it.”

“Come home for dinner tonight, hon? I made your favorite, shrimps and

corn…”

Familiar voices soft as water echoed in his head. Donahueiel’s past sweet and

intimate times with Janet flashed across his mind.

What also came along was his cold replies.

“I don’t like cakes, Janet. Stop being self–indulgent.”

“Stop buying me stuff without my consent.”

“Can’t. I’m busy.”

Donahueiel’s apathetic words returned like a thousand cuts on his body that took years to show and be

came excruciating.

Donahueiel’s breathing became gasps, he felt so much pain that he couldn’t

breathe.

“Oh. Okay then. You’ll go on ahead. I’ll wait…”

Donahueiel’s eyes flung open, and he burst out of the room.

He needed to see her. He needed to…

To apologize!

Even if it was just a simple “I’m sorry.”

The Longfellow’s villa, the next morning.

Janet got up early and went downstairs. She saw Marvin on the first floor, muttering with Lawrence.

She walked downstairs and greeted them with a yawn.

“Morning, Marvin. Lawrence. Where’s Donahue?”

“Donahue went to the office,” Marvin answered. “He wasn’t there for a while

and went to check up. You wouldn’t assume he’s a daylight burner like you, right?”

Janet ignored him and arrived downstairs.

As she entered the diner, she instantly noticed the morning cereal, still hot on NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

the table.

“Morning cereal! Lawrence, you the man!” Said Janet excitedly. Waking up to cereal in the morning was

like Christmas to her.

She grinned at Lawrence, only to see he was heading out.

Janet took her seat for her cereal. “Lawrence made these? I recall a joint near the Kind Clinic with the b

est morning cereal. Haven’t been there for a long time.”

Marvin raised his eyebrow, and his mouth curled into a meaningful smile.

Janet did not notice. She scooped up a little, took

a few blows, and sent it to her mouth. The taste of cereal spread inside

her mouth, rendering her utterly satisfied.

Janet narrowed her eyes in satisfaction and started to make fun of Marvin. “How come you’re not visitin

g Olive these days? You’re not that quick to give up the person you like, are you?”

Marvin strolled and sat down in front of Janet. He looked at her mischievously.

“Someone was badgering you. You think I’d miss that?”

Janet was confused. “What?”

Someone was badgering her?

Marvin calmly riddled around and did not give Janet a straight–up answer.

Janet looked at him suspiciously, then took out her phone and brought up

surveillance near her house.

Her smile faded as she saw the familiar McLaren parking outside, Donahueiel

Webster’s car.

She tuned back the time a bit and saw that he parked nearby past midnight,

then drove away as dawn approached.

Janet greeted her teeth and was irritated. “Back for Quintina again? Give me a

break.‘

“No.”

Marvin stretched his voice and mimicked how Janet just made fun of him.

“Lawrence said Donahueiel was here last night and spent the night in the car. Then he left before daybr

eak and brought Lawrence some morning desserts for you.”

Janet scorned and disregarded Marvin’s remark.

“There’s no way Lawrence would accept it. He’s got pride.”

Marvin gave a treacherous smile. “Couldn’t it be that I convinced Lawrence to accept it?”

Janet choked up and looked at Marvin like she couldn’t believe him.

Marvin threw up his hands and retained his smile. “Who am I to say no to free gifts? To have the CEO

of a listed company as an errand boy, that’s some story

to tell.”

“Sick.”

Janet rolled her eyes at Marvin and looked down at her morning cereal, a thought crept up her mind…

“Exactly,” Marvin followed up, like a bystander wanting to see some fun.

Janet paused her spoon hand.

But then, a few moments later, she became okay with it.

She made countless breakfasts for Donahueiel, anyways. She couldn’t even

recall exactly how many times she herself made his breakfast.

And now Donahueiel only bought her one bowl of cereal. What’s there to it?

He didn’t cook it, anyway. It was clean.

Janet made peace with herself and then continued with her cereal without any guilty conscience.

Marvin was surprised at her.

He thought that she would discard the cereal.

“So, you’re not gonna go out and have a look now that he waited for you all night?”

Confused, Marvin asked her.

Janet gave him an expressionless sideway

glance. “Why should I? Do I have to go and look every time someone dogs around my house?”

“Nice.”

Marvin gave Janet a thumb–

up and spoke as if he meant it, “You have finally graduated from a Padawan to a Jedi, and are immune

to idiots like him. I am proud of you.”

Janet raised her eyebrow at him and graciously accepted the compliment.

Marvin then took out and shook his phone.

“Although, I do hope you can still remain calm when you see the gossip about

you.”

He passed the phone to Janet. “Ever since you came clean that day at the

convention, the entertainment media went wild and started gossiping about

your private life. There

have been more press releases about you than top celebrities, and more cameramen came to the villa.

Then…”

Marvin tried to look serious and went hard not to laugh out about it. “You

stayed indoors these days, and they missed you. But the stunt Donahueiel Webster pulled last night hit

it right on the spot. It’s already trending.”

“What?”

Janet took the phone and was instantly brought speechless the moment she glanced at that extruding ti

The title was indeed an eye–grabber. Janet took one look and flared up.

She smacked the phone on the table. “You really know how to piss me off, don’t you, Donahueiel Webs

ter?”

She jolted up, kicked aside the chair, put on a coat, and headed out.

Marvin hurriedly stood up. “Where are you going?”

“None of your business!” Janet was like a powder keg that any words could

ignite. “Clear out the news. Stop the trending!”
