Chapter 143 Private Action
Close the door, Alan a face cloudy.
He casually tossed Lexie’s phone to Jack.
“Give the phone to the private detective, and no surprise, the kidnapper will call again.”
“Yes.”
“Also, notify the project manager, here in L City, to prepare to withdraw the bid.”
Jack looked at Alan in amazement and disbelief.
How long they have been talking about this project, the whole group knows that the importance of this project is not only reflected in the profit value but also in the long-term cooperation opportunities in the future.
It’s amazing that Alan actually said he withdrew.
J City the following afternoon.
“Miss Hunt, you can’t go in there right now.”
“Miss Hunt!”
“Alan!” Lydia burst into his office as she pushed the door open, furious.
Alan had just finished his morning meeting and sat behind his computer. When he saw Lydia looking like this, he frowned, “What’s wrong?”
“And you ask me what’s wrong, where’s Lexie?”
“She’s not back for a while?”
“Not back?” Lydia nodded, “Okay, so let me ask you, where’s grandma?”
Alan frowned.
“Grandmother was kidnapped, do you know about this?”
“I know.”
“Know?” Lydia’s anger instantly rose and she raised her voice, “You can still sit here leisurely and drink coffee, that is Lexie’s only family, do you know that if anything happens to grandma, Lexie will never forgive you in her life!”
Alan asked, “Who told you this?”
“Stay out of it! Just tell me if you care about this matter or not!”
“I am not a police officer, how can I manage this matter?”
“The kidnappers clearly came for you. What did Lexie and Grandma do wrong? If they weren’t involved with you, who would bother them? I know better than anyone!”
“By that, do you mean you are blaming me for having to put you in danger all these years?”
Lydia’s face froze and her anger froze at the corners of her mouth.
“Get out, I have things to do.”
Alan converged to look at her, a pair of cold eyes frozen with frost.
Lydia clenched her fists in indignation, “Just go!”
She left the Howard Group and Patrick called out to her at the door, “How did it go?”
“The deal fell through?”
“I can see that and still ask?” Lydia glared at him, “I really didn’t expect Alan to be so stone-hearted now, is grandma’s life more important than money, the kidnapper wants money, just give it! Is he still short of money?”
Patrick only knows that Grandma has been kidnapped and Lexie has suddenly lost contact, so he can only come to Lydia.
It’s been two days, but Alan is drinking coffee in the office like nobody’s business, and Lydia just blew a gasket.
“No business, no evil, as I said before, where is Lexie? Did you ask?”
Lydia was stunned, “I forgot.”
Patrick stared straight up, “So you just went to fight?”
“When I get angry, I forget everything!”
“I’m convinced! I might as well not look for you!”
“Wait for me,” Lydia said analytically as she caught up, “I probably know where Lexie is! They go to L City, and Alan and I have been there, and he never goes there without staying in a hotel!”
“You mean, we’re going straight to L City? To find Lexie?”
“Well, go!”This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
Once Lydia left, Jack cautiously entered the office.
“Mr. Howard, the coffee is cold, can I get you a new one?”
“No, how are things going with the investigation?”
“There are eyebrows, and your prediction is almost the same, is the second uncle let people move, the community’s surveillance although not captured people, but captured that day around the suspect vehicle, license plate number a check, is the second uncle’s men’s car.”
Alan’s face slowly sank down, “He’s a dog in a hurry and intends to break the pot.”
“I’m afraid that in Second Uncle’s opinion, he’s backed into a corner, and if we withdraw the bid on our front foot, he’ll be able to take advantage of the Jin Mao Group’s east wind and seize the opportunity to set up another business with them.”
“That’s not the issue right now.”
Jack came back to his senses and said, “Yes, I understand, the private detective side is already following up on the address of the second uncle’s place, there should be news soon.”
“By the way, the private detective said that on the day your second aunt died in a car accident, Edith visited the hospital morgue, and Lennox was there, but she was not seen coming out of the hospital exit that day.”
“Edith?”
Alan’s brow jumped, “Come on, take a trip to the Mitchell family.”
L City is still some distance away from D city.
To save time, Lydia and Patrick went by high speed train, which saved half the time than driving.
“This is the hotel.”
Lydia pointed to the door, “Alan will only stay here when he comes to L City, ninety-nine percent chance.”
“And what about the remaining one percent?”
“Blah blah blah, crow’s tongue!”
Lydia glared at Patrick and went straight into the lobby, going straight to the counter to ask about Lexie’s check-in.
“Lexie, right?”
The employee at the counter checked the computer carefully and suddenly had a somewhat meaningful look on his face, “Sorry, we don’t have this guest staying at the hotel, you and your friend may have found the wrong place.”
“Looking in the wrong place? That’s not possible.”
“How is that impossible?” Patrick gave her a blank look, “L City is so big, so many hotels, and you’re so sure Alan will come and stay at this one? Overconfident.”
“I also believe in the evil to come here with you, have this effort I might as well go home, along the street to the market to find out who kidnapped grandma!”
Lydia was stubborn and asked the teller again, “Lexie didn’t check in, what about Alan? He is your VIP customer here.”
“Sorry, and no.”
This time, the teller didn’t even check it.
Seeing this, Lydia’s heart then understood seven or eight points.
Patrick clamored to go back to J City, but was dragged to the hotel’s logistics by Lydia.
“What are you doing?”
“Shh,” Lydia covered his mouth, “keep your voice down, you’re afraid people won’t know you’re not gone, right?”
“What the hell do you want?”
“Disguise yourself and go save someone.”
“Save someone? I told you, Lexie’s not here!”
“You believe what they say, huh? Where’s your brain?”
Lydia snorted, “I think with my toes also know, just that lobby manager is lying, he first looked at Lexie’s information, must have found something, the face changed, and I talk about Alan, he even did not even check directly with me to deny.”
“What does this mean? Even if Lexie is staying at this hotel, can’t we still find her room by room?”
“Who said anything about looking room by room?”
Lydia handed Patrick a pair of staff overalls, “Alan only lives in a suite, and there are only two suites on a floor, so is it a hassle to find them?”
Patrick suddenly felt that this girl in front of him still had some brains.
“So what are we going to do now?”
Lydia said with a straight face, “Go to the suite and knock on the door and clean up!”
