My Mirror Image by Maybe Not (Candice And Alex’s)

Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Hanley naturally y agreed. He took back his phone and said seriously, “I look forward to working with you.”

Candice pursed her lips and smiled. “I look forward to it too.”

Hanley nodded, and then changed the topic, asking Candice. “Are you encountering difficulties here?”

Candice was stunned for a moment. “Why do you ask this?”

“It’s very obvious.” Hanley said, “When you were in Stugan City, your condition was not so bad.”

Candice subconsciously touched her own face, and heard Hanley speak again. “If you don’t mind, you can talk

to me.”

Candice lowered her eyes and hesitated, but still said nothing.

Hanley stopped asking. He checked the time and asked Candice, “Do you want to have dinner together? Nadia and the others are here too.”

Candice shook her head. “I have to go to the hospital to get an IV drip again tonight.”

Hanley looked at her and suddenly laughed. “People usually go on business trips and have a vacation at their company’s expense, but you seem like you’re being tortured.”

This was the first time that Hanley spoke to her in such a joking tone. He was already good–looking, but when he smiled like this, his originally upturned fox eyes suddenly became a little gentler, as if

he was about to drown someone in them.

Hanley smiled for only a moment before returning to his usual self. He looked at Candice and said frankly. Before you contacted me, Johnson asked me to take good care of you. When you return to Dorrington and let him see you, he might think that I am bullying you.”

Candice also smiled. “Do you have a good relationship with Johnson?”

“Didn’t he tell you?” Hanley seemed a little surprised. He raised his eyebrows. “He is my cousin.”

Candice really did not know the relationship between Hanley and Johnson, and it took her a moment to realize.

The phone that happened to be placed on the table rang. It was the alarm set by Candice to remind her to go for her IV drip.

She looked at Hanley. “Then I’ll get back to you after I think about it. I’m going to the hospital first.”

“Oh, right.” She stopped just after taking a few steps, turned back, and said, “I haven’t touched the cakes on the table. You can eat them if you don’t mind.”

She slowly added, “If you want to eat something else, you can.”

Hanley was speechless for a moment, then pinched his eyebrows and asked, “Do you think of me as a little girl?”

When Candice arrived at the hospital, there were not many people in the emergency department. She went to get medicine and then came back for the IV.

It was still the same nurse as in the morning. She smiled and said to Candice. “It’s you again?”

Candice nodded. “I have to have an IV drip again.”

“Are you still alone?” the nurse asked. “Where is your boss?”

Candice said, “He is very busy.”

“I thought I finally met a conscientious boss who was willing to accompany his employees for medical treatment.” The nurse inserted the needle, hung up the IV drip on her, and left.

Candice was bored sitting alone with the IV drip. She scrolled through her phone and saw that Sieg and his

group were particularly lively.

She was clearing the list and had forgotten about this group chat. She clicked in and saw that it was Sieg and the others discussing a new racing car.

Candice did not know much about cars, but watching them chat was a way to pass the time.

Suddenly, someone asked, “Where’s Alex? I haven’t seen him in a long time.”

Sieg immediately replied, “He’s on a business trip.”

“Didn’t you also go to Stugan City? How come you’re back but Alex isn’t?”

“How can Sieg be compared with Alex?” Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

The topic in the group suddenly changed, and several people tagged Alex.

But it was not Alex who appeared in the end. Instead, it was Sonia.

She appeared and sent a photo, with the hospital in the background and the back of her hand with a needle.
