Previously, Yesseca had only told Preslie that Montez had a quarrel with his classmates.

But she didn't state the reason for it.

Preslie's heart softened.

She finally resigned herself to her fate and said,

"All right, all right, if you want to accompany him then go ahead. Do whatever you want."

Yesseca wouldn't have expected that at this moment, while she and Preslie were conversing, that Montez had actually gained a listening ear in the form of Ruth.

And Ruth was in an excited mood.

One adult and one child chatted with each other, and unsure as to how they got to that line of conversation, they actually brought up some things about Ruth's son.

Ruth asked Montez about her son's condition in the Quartley Palace.

Montez told her everything without hiding anything from her.

Ruth listened carefully, unwilling to even miss a single word.

When she heard that Madam Quartley would constantly carry her son around, half of the tension she carried in her heart was alleviated.

She had feared in the beginning that Madam Quartley would give the child over to Yuliana for her to raise.

Now it seemed like most of the time it was Madam Quartley who took care of him.

This was the great-grandson of the Quartley's matriarch. Ruth knew very well that Madam Quartley wouldn't treat her child shabbily.

Montez babbled on for a long time when he suddenly asked, "Madam Welmert, why are you so interested in my little brother?"

Montez was still young after all, hence in regards to Bevon's origins, he didn't know anything about it.

He assumed that Bevon was Yuliana and Zorion's son.

Just as she struggled to come up with a reply, Montez answered the question for her instead.

Ruth felt relieved, before a warm flash of approval shone in her eyes.

Montez really liked her son a lot.

He even called him his 'little brother'.

That was good.

She got up from her seat, grabbed a large package of pastries and told him, "Montez, I'll give this for you and your brother to eat, okay?"

Montez agreed.

When evening came, Sheldon arrived to pick up Montez.

Only Montez was reluctant to part.

He hugged Yesseca and chatted with her for a while before he finally left with Sheldon.

As she stared at Montez's departing figure, though she was equally as reluctant at heart, her eyes were curved up into crescent moons.

She and Montez used to be somewhat estranged.

But it was very strange.

After their chance encounter that day, the chasm that was between them had disappeared without anyone realizing it.

"Mr. Tremaine's son is really a very cute child." Suddenly, Ruth's voice came to her ears.

Ruth was gazing after Montez's departed figure as well.
