Chapter 2190
Chapter 2190
Of course, there was no response from Lothar in the photo.
Lothar was smiling happily in the photo.
Tremaine's expression hardened. "I promise you, if Yesseca is willing to give me another chance and forgive me, I will never let her suffer again."Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
After saying that, Tremaine carefully returned the photo under the pillow.
His gaze once again fell on Yesseca's face.
Yesseca was still fast asleep.
Tremaine lowered his head and gently kissed Yesseca's forehead. He then stood up and went downstairs.
The next day arrived.
Preslie woke up.
She opened her eyes and her head began to ache.
Wait!
Why was she in her bedroom?
Preslie immediately sat up in shock.
Was she not having dinner with Yesseca the night before? Why was she back home?
Just as Preslie was still confused, she heard some noise outside her door.
It was her parents.
"Preslie is really quite useless. She was so drunk, yet Mr. Hawls didn't do anything to her! He even sent her back home. She does not possess one bit of womanly charm!"
Celine said.
Preslie's father, Calter, sighed as he said, "Whose fault is that? It's on you giving birth to such a fat and ugly daughter!"
Celine retorted, "How could you blame me? It's her own fault! Amelia is my daughter as well, and yet she is pretty and charming. If it was Amelia instead last night, Mr. Hawls surely would have brought her to the hotel!"
Calter sighed and said nothing.
Celine continued, "I've already indicated to Mr. Hawls so obviously that he could have just brought her to a hotel since she was drunk. I also told him that I am fine with it, yet he insisted on sending her back here! I hoped to have a high position in Nashaland, but I guess I can't after all."
Calter seemed to have thought of something as he said, "Previously, I see that Mr. Hawls treats Preslie quite well. It made me think that he likes her, but it seems that it's not the case. She can't even attract normal guys. How is it possible that someone as outstanding as Mr. Hawls like her?" Preslie's heart sank as she listened to them talk.
She roughly understood what had happened.
She made a phone call to Sheldon before drinking last night. It seemed that Sheldon had looked for her but she was drunk, so he had sent her home. She knew what kind of people her parents were. Therefore, she did not really feel sad when they spoke about her like that.
But Sheldon...
He was a true gentleman to not lay his hands on her when she was drunk.
She should have been grateful and happy about it.
But why did she feel rather sad?
Preslie bit her lip.
Was it because she was unattractive, fat and ugly, that Sheldon did not want to take advantage of her?
Before she could be sad for too long, Preslie suddenly remembered something.
Yesseca!
Sheldon had sent her home yesterday, but what
about Yesseca?
Preslie immediately called Yesseca.
Had it not been for Preslie's phone call, Yesseca would have still been asleep.
She sounded as though she was still in a daze. "Hello?"
"Yesseca, where are you?"
Yesseca opened her drowsy eyes. She looked around and said, "I'm at home, in my bedroom."
On the other end of the phone, Preslie breathed a sigh of relief.
She said, "Yesseca, are you still sleeping? We have to wake up. Today is the opening day of our bakery!"
Yesseca's sleepiness was instantly gone.
Good heavens!
She had almost forgotten such an important matter if Preslie had not called her.
Yesseca immediately got up. "I'll go wash up right away."
"I'll come and look for you later," said Preslie.
Yesseca was about to hang up when she suddenly thought of something. She immediately said, "Wait, where are you? Weren't we having supper last night? Why am I in my room now? don't remember coming home."
S
Preslie lowered her voice and said, "Yesseca called Mr. Hawls last night to tell him about the bakery. I think he had come to look for us, but we were already drunk, so hesent us home."
Yesseca startled.
"I see." Yesseca hung up the phone.
While washing up, Yesseca recalled the dream she had the night before.
She dreamed of Tremaine.
Tremaine hugged her and was talking to her.
But she didn't hear it clearly.
She had thought that it was just a dream. But now that she had heard what Preslie said, could it be...
Yesseca's hand trembled and the toothbrush almost fell from her hand.
Then she let out a bitter laugh.
What was she thinking?
How was it possible?
She had already cut off all ties with Tremaine. He had fallen in love with Qiana and was about to marry her. How could he hug her?
Sheldon was probably the only one who sent them back last night.
And that dream was definitely just a dream!
She shouldn't overthink it!
Yesseca shook her head forcefully.
She had vowed never to think of Tremaine ever again.
At nine o'clock in the morning, Sheldon was about to make a phone call to Preslie to see if she was awake. Instead, he received a call from Tremaine. "Call Preslie and ask her how she and Yesseca are doing," Tremaine said in a low voice.
Sheldon was speechless.
Tremaine had the exact same thoughts as him.
"Yes, Mr. Tremaine."
After hanging up, Sheldon immediately called Preslie.
The phone was soon connected.
Preslie seemed as though she was busy and wanted to hang up the call quickly. "I'm awake, Mr. Hawls. Thanks for sending us back last night. I'll
hang up now."
"What? How about Yesseca?" "She's awake too. I'm at her house."
"That's it." "Toot, toot, toot."
Preslie quickly hung up the phone.
Her calmness had disappeared all of a sudden when she thought about what her parents had said.
Yesseca could tell that there was something off with Preslie. She asked, "Preslie, what's wrong?"
Preslie's voice was soft as she replied, "Yesseca, am I fat and ugly?"
Yesseca immediately said, "What are you talking about? You're adorable!"
Preslie couldn't help but explain the situation last night. "My parents said that I'm fat and ugly. That's why men are not attracted to me."
Yesseca was dumbfounded.
She then said, "Do you like men who would take advantage of you?"
"Of course not!" Preslie replied.
"Then it's a good thing that Mr. Hawls is such a gentleman," said Yesseca.
Preslie looked down and said, "Yes, know it's a good thing. But my mother said that if it was my sister, Amelia, then Mr. Hawls would have
taken advantage of her."
