Chapter 1063
Chapter 1063
Robert watched Lester leave. “Ma’am, should I stop him?”
“Let him go,” Theda said, leaning back in her swivel chair and closing her eyes. “The penalty fees alone are more than he can afford. He’ll have no choice but to come crawling back.”
She hadn’t expected Lester to mess up at such a critical time. Back then, he had promised her that he would rise to the top of the industry. But now, just as things were getting started, he caved under pressure.
“What’s the plan now?” Robert asked.
“There are plenty of other artists,” Theda replied, stretching her arms. “Split Lester’s resources among them. If he doesn’t want wealth, there are plenty of others who do.”
She stood up and added, “I’m feeling a bit tired. Go tell them to get ready for an all–out fight. If they pull this off, I’ll make sure they’re well rewarded.”
“Understood.” Robert left the office and headed to the lounge.
Inside, a group of exhausted artists slumped over the tables. When Robert walked in, one of them asked eagerly, “Can we go home now?”
Lester’s sudden departure had left them stuck in limbo, confined to the lounge with no option to leave.
Robert said plainly, “Lester’s workload will be split among you. These are top resources, and your schedules in the next two months may get a bit tight. Ms. Buchan promises to reward you once it’s done.”
“Another two months? That’s insane.”
“I can’t take this anymore. I just want to go home and sleep.”
“I haven’t slept for two days. And there’s a tour coming up. Everyone knows how intense Lester’s workload is. If it’s dumped on us, we’ll break down.”
The room erupted into complaints.
Robert remained composed. “If anyone doesn’t want this, you’re free to leave. Just pay the penalty fees and terminate your contract. But I suggest you think carefully. Yes, it’s exhausting now, but you’re being handed resources that even A–listers can’t dream of. Whether you rise to stardom or not depends on whether you can endure this.”
The room fell silent. They all knew the value of Lester’s resources. These were the kind of deals only superstars like Michael could secure.
But securing these opportunities came at the cost of their health. If they worked to their deaths, fortune would be meaningless.

One artist finally spoke up, “Can we just get four hours of sleep a day? If this keeps up, we’re all going to drop dead.”
“Too much work for too little pay. Who wouldn’t crack under this? Even Lester lost it. It’s only a matter of time before we do too.” novelbin
Robert responded nonchalantly, “If you want to wear the crown, you have to bear its weight. If you don’t have the resolve, then all the years of training were a waste. Do you know how much the company has invested in each of you? If you leave, you’ll have to pay all the penalty fees from recent endorsements and the cost of your training. And let’s be honest, none of you have that kind of money right now.”
At his words, the room went silent.
Robert was right. The training fees alone were about three million dollars per person, and the penalties were astronomical. They couldn’t afford it and had to keep working for Buchan Entertainment.
