Chapter 1440 He Still Has Feelings For You

She told Genevieve everything about the reasons and consequences of her breakup with Jerry.

Charlotte asked Genevieve, “If your sister were arguing with her husband, and he might even hit her, would you step in to help?”

“Sure.” Genevieve nodded.

Charlotte brushed her long hair away from her forehead as she deadpanned, “And after I woke up, I wanted to call him to explain, but guess

what? He blocked me, didn't want to hear my explanation, and even returned all the gifts I had given him in the past. He had Joash tell me that

we've broken up. I really...”

Every time she thought about what happened that day, she was absolutely livid.

The only person who could push her to the point of constantly swearing and wanting to explode on the spot was Jerry.

Genevieve carefully replaced each keycap onto the keyboard, expressing her surprise, “I don't think Jerry is that immature. Could there be a

misunderstanding between you two?”

“He is being immature!” Charlotte said, “Would Armand argue with you? Would he dare to block you on WhatsApp and not answer your

calls?”

Genevieve raised an eyebrow and said, “If he dares to do so, then he's done for.”

“So you see...” Charlotte irritably ruffled her hair. “They're not that far apart in age, so why is he so immature! Why on earth did I fall for him

in the first place?”

“Because you're a sucker for good looks,” Genevieve hit the nail on the head. “Jerry is handsome. He's your type.”

Charlotte was left speechless.

Charlotte didn't want to discuss Jerry with Genevieve anymore. It was too bothersome. She took a couple of sips of her coffee to soothe her

throat. “Half a month ago, I went to the golf course and ran into Scarlette.”

“And then?” asked Genevieve.

“I saw Zander waiting for her on the field,” Charlotte said, her pretty fingers tapping on the table, her brows furrowed. “Wasn't Scarlette in

Bellridge before? How could they be connected?”

Upon hearing this, Genevieve pondered for a few seconds. “I heard that Zander used to work in Southern Saspiuburg, which isn't too far from

here.”

“What a coincidence,” Charlotte said with a hint of gloat. “Your husband's childhood friend bumped into the guy who used to pursue you

while studying abroad. Now, both of them have returned to the country and occasionally run into each other in Jadeborough.”

“There are quite a few childhood friends who grew up with my husband, and it's quite a coincidence,” Genevieve remarked.

“Even though Zander pursued me, I didn't pay him any attention. Besides, he's your ex,” retorted Genevieve with a teasing smile. “His former

girlfriend has now become an artist under your management.”

Charlotte firmly stated, “Zander would not be interested in Scarlette at all, as Scarlette would never indulge him in BDSM.”

“Hmm?” Genevieve stared at Charlotte, dumbfounded for quite a while.

“That day when I visited your place, your husband was there so I didn't say much. Zander is a bi, and he's also in the SM circle,” Charlotte

said, very annoyed. “I was also short-sighted back then.”

It took Genevieve a while before she spoke. “I was wondering why you seemed so off when we mentioned Zander the other day. So, this is

why.”This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

“It seems to me that he still can't get over you,” added Genevieve.

Charlotte glared at her fiercely.

After Genevieve was done gloating, she recalled an event from a long time ago, “A waiter at the club once told me that one morning, you had

arranged to meet Zander at the club, is that correct?”

“Yeah, just as you guessed,” Charlotte responded, rolling her eyes at her in annoyance.

She slumped into the chair, rubbing her forehead, “Zander has an uncle who works at an auction house. There was a painting that was hard to

sell, so I asked him for help and made a deal with him.”

Genevieve asked, “You're not someone who's interested in antiques and painting, so why are you going through so much trouble to have him

buy them?”

Charlotte pouted, “Jerry said a family elder of his is fond of it. This painting was originally auctioned in Saintnam. I had an argument with

him that day and returned to the country, so I couldn't attend the auction.”

Upon hearing this, Genevieve finally understood everything.

She had known Charlotte for many years, and everyone in their circle was well aware of Charlotte's reputation for being fickle in love. Yet,

she had never seen Charlotte so invested in any of her exes before.

She went to great lengths to get a certain item, all in an effort to please her boyfriend's family elders.

Seeing Charlotte lost in her emotions, Genevieve reminded, “Lottie, you must clarify what you don't know. Don't make blind judgments and

let your emotions run wild.”
