Chapter 1450
The siblings felt that they might be a little uncomfortable at first.
Suddenly, they had a new family member, one who was supposed to be their stepfather. It would feel odd calling him Uncle Ted or Dad.
They seemed to reach the same thought simultaneously.
Charles was the first to speak up. "I don't mind it. When acting, I've called people younger than me Dad, Father, or even Grandpa. As long as Mom is happy, I can call him Dad."
Steven replied, "I'll call him Uncle Ted."
Skylar found herself at a loss for words. Uncle Ted seemed manageable, but to refer to Ted as Dad might be too much for her.
Charles then added, "I just hope he's a good person. If he truly cares about Mom, I could even accept it if he's 15 or 16 years younger than her. Plus, older women dating younger men is trending now."novelbin
Skylar replied, "I'm fine with it too."
After that, Steven said, "I have work to do. If there are any updates, let me know in the group. Let's not tell Harvey about this yet.
"He's young and impulsive, which might mess things up. The three of us can figure things out rationally, but he might struggle to accept this right now."
Skylar and Charles both agreed.
After discussing it with her brothers, Skylar started looking into Ted's background.
What she found surprised her. Ted was no ordinary person. He owned multiple buildings, including some iconic landmarks in Jipsburg. He even designed many of those himself.
In other words, the idea of him being a gold digger clearly didn't fit. Ted seemed more like a big shot.
Skylar spent the entire afternoon thinking about this matter. In the evening, she shared her findings with Joe.
Joe called Paul, and within 20 to 30 minutes, he had sent over Ted's personal information.
There were some records of Ted
online, but they mostly highlighted his achievements and lacked personal details. However, the information Paul provided included specifics about Ted's family and marital history.
It turned out Ted's private life was extremely simple.
He had been married before, but his wife had passed away from cancer. He had neither remarried nor had any girlfriends after his wife's passing.
Although many people had tried to pursue him, none of them succeeded.
"He seems like a good person. If he's really dating Mom, they should be allowed to continue," Joe said after reviewing the details.
Skylar also felt satisfied with Ted after reading through the materials. It was clear he was someone who valued relationships deeply. "Alright. If they are indeed dating, we can pretend not to know until Mom tells us," Skylar agreed.
She had originally planned to meet with Ted to gauge his intentions. But now, it seemed unnecessary.
If the two were still in the early stages of getting to know each other, and she suddenly arranged, meeting, it might make Ted think Janine's children were difficult to deal with, potentially discouraging him.
After that, she shared Ted's information in the group chat with her brothers.
Both Steven and Charles agreed with her approach.
They decided to wait for their mother to officially announce the relationship once it was more stable.
After sorting out the matter with Janine, Skylar turned to Joe and noticed the redness in his eyes, a sign of exhaustion.
"Are those people in the company still giving you trouble?" she asked with concern.
