Chapter 1152 What Can Ashlyn Do
Now, not only is Jacob unwell, but Sabrina is rambling on and on here.
Finally, Sabrina fell silent and quietly stepped aside.
A profound silence enveloped the surroundings, and Lucas' ears enjoyed a moment of respite.
Half an hour later, the doctor finally emerged from the emergency room.
“Doctor, how is the patient?” Lucas strode forward with his long legs and approached the doctor, his magnetic voice carrying a hint of concern.
“Due to excessive workload and prolonged engagement in experiments, the patient has developed a chronic headache caused by intense radiation exposure and strain on his body. These headaches are so severe that they can cause him to collapse when they become unbearable.”
The doctor let out a sigh. “Given the patient's condition, more rest is definitely needed.”
“I understand.” Lucas nodded. “When will he wake up?”
“Most likely tomorrow morning. He will be admitted for observation for a couple of days. However, it's not just about resting well during these two days; he should also take care of himself in the long run. Excessive strain needs to be avoided. Staying in the hospital for a few days like this only addresses the symptoms, not the underlying issue.”
The doctor heaved a heavy sigh and turned to leave.
Gradually, a sense of unease started to weigh on Lucas's heart.
Jacob's contribution to the development of automotive new energy technologies is irreplaceable, and his significant dedication and sacrifices for this cause are undeniable. Particularly in the country's field of electrical engineering, where the surplus value of electricity is remarkably high and in dire need of transformation. If his health deteriorates to the point of exhaustion, it would result in a significant loss for Section Six and the entire new energy sector.
A headache began to gnaw at Lucas at the thought of that.
Spencer quietly approached him and whispered, “Mr. Nolan... how about we ask Ms. Berry to come over? She might have a way to help restore Mr. Lester's deteriorating health.” Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
In response, Lucas raised his brow and glanced at Spencer before saying, “I was thinking the same thing. Let's leave two people here to accompany Mr. Lester while we head back to Section Six.”
Upon hearing Spencer's suggestion, Sabrina couldn't help but interject, “What can Ashlyn do? Last time, she was just pretending to diagnose and prescribe medicine in front of Mr. Yarrow. Does she actually have any medical skills?”
Lucas glanced at her, finding her increasingly foolish and annoying.
If she hadn't mentioned it, I would have completely forgotten about the matter with Neil. I wonder if his health has improved ever since Ashlyn gave Rulent 133 to him.
With these thoughts in mind, he instinctively reached for his phone. As he walked toward the elevator with Spencer, he dialed Neil's number.
“Hello, who is it?” came the voice of Neil's disciple, Devin.
“It's me,” Lucas introduced himself and couldn't help but inquire, “Where is your mentor?”
“My mentor has already retired for the night. Is there something you need?” Devin was quite curious as to why Lucas would call so late.
“How has he been feeling lately?” Lucas asked.
“Ever since he took the medicine Ms. Berry gave him, his complexion has improved a lot,” Devin's tone brightened as he mentioned it. “This is all thanks to Ms. Berry. My mentor said he would like to visit her tomorrow, so I was just about to contact her. Is she available tomorrow?”
“You'll have to ask her yourself about tomorrow...” Lucas didn't want to make any decisions on Ashlyn's behalf as that would be too disrespectful to her.
“All right. I'll contact Ms. Berry first thing tomorrow morning, then.”
After ending the call, Lucas was more determined to seek Ashlyn's help for Jacob's condition.
Just as Ashlyn returned to Section Six, she received a call from Lucas before she could reach the standalone villa where the latter resided.
“You're back?”
“Yeah. I just got off the car. How's everything on your end?” Ashlyn drawled as she strolled through the moonlit courtyard.
“I'll be back soon.” Lucas's voice carried a subtle hint of chilliness. “Wait for me.”
After hanging up the phone, Ashlyn returned to the villa and headed straight to her room.
She was quite tired after a busy day.
After changing her clothes, she entered the bathroom and turned on the showerhead, preparing for a relaxing hot bath.
