Chapter 1 An Unappetizing Video
Chapter 1 An Unappetizing Video
Britain.
In the suite of Hilton Hotel, the lights were not on.
Emma Powell was holding an iPad. The flickering light made her face looked colorful.
The screen was playing an unappetizing video.
It was her boyfriend Ivan Barnes and her bestie and “Nadia” Kate Booth.
Kate tired hard to please Ivan.
Ivan was comfortable with his mouth slightly open, eyes blurred, but was completely unaware that it had been recorded.
Emma gritted her teeth and slammed the iPad onto the bed.
Her mobile phone suddenly rang and it came the enigmatic voice of Joey Thomas.
“Emma, have you seen the video I just sent to your email? How is it? Is it exciting? Are you surprised?”
“Joey, what do you want, cut the crap and don’t make me sick.”
Emma vented her angry of Ivan’s betrayal on Joey.
“Come on, be mad at that couple! Don’t do that to me! By the way, do you want to come back and kill those two scumbags with your own hands? I think you shitty! I have sharpened the long knife of 40 meters for you, come to take it.”
“Cut the crap and book me a flight!”
With that, Emma hung up the phone.
...
L City International Airport.
When Emma came out of the airport, she saw a black Audi parked in the waiting area.
The man in front of the Audi was smoking a cigarette with his head down, half his face almost buried in the smoke as a puff of smoke came from his nose and mouth.
The man raised his head and found Emma came out from the exit carrying a suitcase, he immediately put out the smoke and came to meet her.
Emma did not say a word but slapped on his face.
Ivan was stunned by that and then asked, “Emma, what do you mean? Why did you hit me?”
Emma did not answer his question, but gave him another slap.
Ivan's face suddenly changed after he was slapped twice in a row.
He looked at Emma angrily and said, “Are you crazy?”
Emma raised her chin, looked at him with disdain on her face, and said, “The first slap, I want to tell you that I gave up everything for you and nearly died abroad because I was blind! The second slap is to ask you, when you slept with Kate, she was wearing my pajamas, don’t you think you are disgusting?”
Ivan was suddenly stunned.
His face changed rapidly, as if he had taken a long time to digest the matter.
When he finally organized the language, he said, “Emma, you already know?”
Emma sneered from the bottom of her heart, “If I don't mention it, how long are you going to hide it from me?”
“I'm sorry...”
Ivan dropped his head suddenly.
Emma was emotionally, but she was suppressing her angry.
Ivan's apology was insignificant to her.
He said, “Emma, I was going to tell you when you come from studying abroad...I know it's my fault, it's my fault, it has nothing to do with Kate. Now I can set my foot in L City, it was because Kate's father...”
Emma smiled with a pale face, nodded with disdain. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
There were snowflakes falling overhead.
“Emma, please do not tell others, after all, my status in L City......”
Ivan raised his head to see Emma in the mid off his sentence.
Emma said with a pale face, “After all, I am no longer worthy of your present status, am I right?”
Ivan frowned and his expression became serious.
Emma's smile froze, “Sorry, I am not that nice. You bit me like a dog and does not allow me to say I am in pain? Do you think I can be easily bullied?”
With that, Emma carried her suitcase and headed out of the airport without looking back.
...
Out from the airport, Emma was confused about direction.
The suitcase in her hand still had the sign of the airport, and she had not been back to the city for three years.
The phone in her bag kept vibrating and the caller showed Kate's name.
Emma impatiently refused to answer and then a message came.
【Emma, why didn't you answer my phone? I'm worried about you.】
Looking at such concern, Emma sneered.
What she worried about was probably not her, but that she was now with Ivan!
A thin layer of snow lay on the ground.
The suitcase's pulley ran across the road, leaving two shallow ruts.
Emma was still angry. When she turned around, she found she had been far away from the airport.
On a quiet snowy day, under the street lamps, not a single car passed by.
Emma's brain was in a mess, and she was so furious.
Suddenly a strong light shot from the front. She had no time to dodge, but simply stood in the middle of the road.
The brake sound resounded through the whole street was particularly scary in the middle of the night.
Emma's knee was pressed against the front case of a black car.
Even though the brake was stepped in time, she took two steps back and fell to the ground.
There was no pain in her knee, but Emma couldn't see the man's expression in the driver's seat because of the headlights.
She was not a pushover. She just got up from the ground, patted the snow on her bottom, and squinted at the man in the car.
Soon, she made a bold decision.
Carrying her light-yellow cartoon suitcase, she went straight around the front of the car and got in.
She sat in the car without politeness and closed the door with a loud bang.
The man looked back, frowning. “What are you doing?!”
Emma did not raise her head and sad, “Blackmail, I'm a professional! You either pay money, or send me to the city. I am not going to blackmail you, just send me to a place where I can take taxi!”
As the man was to say something, the mobile phone suddenly rang.
Stretching a long finger, the man clicked on speakerphone.
“Sean, have you arrived?” A gentle graceful woman voice came from his mobile phone.
Sean Knight rubbed his forehead and said in a low voice, “Soon, I will be there in half an hour.”
The woman's voice was pleasing to hear, “Ok, the road in snowy day is slippery, be careful.”
Sean said yes and then started the car and hung up the phone.
The man's voice was composed with a chill.
Emma raised her head and saw half of his nape.
