Bailey's pov
I know my words had stunned him and hurt him at the same time as his grip around my waist loosen.
My heart hurt.
His eyes had a glimmer of sadness that he tried to veil away from me, but I had already seen it. It made a lump in my throat grow.
"Why?" His voice is back hoarse.
I looked away as I murmur. " You don't settle down and the only time you did was because of her. Now she's back."
He gripped my waist and now it feels like he was trying to make sure I didn't move away from him. " Is this about her? Last night? Bailey nothing happened."
I brought my gaze back to his and searched his eyes. There was honesty in his words but how do you trust a player? A guy who nows how to lie perfectly?
" Then why did you stay?"
He shook his head, leaning back so he can have a better view of me. I squirm on his lap. He pinched my waist playfully.
" Maybe if you had answered my calls you would've known." He teased lightly, now finding it amusing.
My jaw ticked and his eyes gleamed. "You're cute when you're jealous flower."
I crossed my arms, scowling at him. " I am not jealous. I could care less about who you spend time with and who's the next in your bed."
He hummed, licking his lips and using his hands to pull me closer. I gasp, not expecting the sudden movement and had my hand on his chest to steady myself.
His hand is on my waist, his pinky tickling under the end of my shirt. " The only girl I'd have in my bed is you, so you don't have to be jealous flower. No one else but you."
His words made my heart skip a beat and I shake off the feeling. Scowling, I tried to move off him but he refused to budge. " Let me go." I uttered, my eyes drifting away from his.
" I can't do that. Not when I feel this way for the first time in my life." He whispered faintly. his words made me draw my attention back to him and I'm shocked to see the truth swirling in his eyes.
Damn him. He's making this hard.
" I can't stop thinking about you Bailey. You're the first thought that rages in my mind as soon as I wake up and the last before I fall asleep. It's like I breathe you every second of the day. I have a thirst I never knew was possible flower. " He whispered, his eyes staring deeply into mine. " A thirst for you."
Don't trust his words Bailey, he'd only lead you into the dungeon of heartbreak. Even with the warning in my head, the alarms were not strong enough to pull me out of this stupid fantasy of Kaleb and me.
" What about last night? With her?" I whispered, tempted to move my eyes away from his.
His lips tug, his eyes shifting in a knowing look. He knew I had undoubtedly admitted I was jealous. But he surprised me when he didn't tease about it but returned to being honest.
" I went to help them pack up stuff. Her dad wanted me to help him set up a crib and a few other things in the nursery. I did. I talked to Juliet but nothing happened," He said, making me ponder on if to take his word for it or not.
I decided to drop it. What good would that do if I question him so much? He's probably think I was one of those possessive girls.
I nod, and tried to get off him again but he stops em. I raised a brow. "The bell is going to ring any second now."
He nod. " I know. But I'm not letting you go until I get an answer Bailey."
I sighed, my gaze dropping to his shirt. " I don't think it's a good idea. Your sister-
" We will take things slow until we find a way to tell her." He cuts in.
That's the thing, no matter how I break this to Mira about us, she'd hate me for breaking the promise. I shook my head. " It's still not a good idea Kaleb." I sighed and pushed off him, this time he lets me go reluctantly.
" I'm your sister's best friend and you're her brother. If things don't work out, it would never be the same again."
I fixed my skirt as he stood up. He towered over me, making me squirm as his heat brushed against my skin, making my bite into my inner cheek to suppress my shiver.
He move closer to me and his chest brush against my shoulder. " How will we know if we don't try Bailey?" He dipped his head, his lips brushing against my earlobe. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
" I want you," He whispered, his fingers interlocking with mine. "All of you."
We are both breathing roughly and the sound of my heart in my very own ears is deafening.
The bell rang, startling me. I pulled away from him and started packing up my stuff.
" Bailey." He called out, his eyes on me. I could practically feel his eyes on me, burning through every motion I did.
" Hmm?" I try to act like I wasn't waiting patiently for his next words, when I knew I would hang on every word that would spill out of his mouth.
" I'll wait."
I lift my head, my brows drawn. He'll wait? Wait for what?
He must've seen my confusion because he elaborated. His eyes are soft and they spilled the way he truly felt, which shocked me. " I'll wait for you Bailey. However long it takes. I will wait."
I sucked in a breath at the way he looked at me. There was just something about the look that made me believe him.
He tipped my chin up using fingers and our eyes met. I could hear the rushing of the students behind the door as they scurry to their classrooms, but the noise seem to drone out when I look into his eyes.
" You've always been worth it." His eyes drop to my lips and my breathing quickened. He's inching closer and I know I would not push him away, but then just as our lips are about to touch, the door opens.
" Bailey!" Mira yelled in the doorway, making my heart drop and a cold bead of sweat to bead on my skin.
