Chapter 30 Terminal Cancer
Chapter 30 Terminal Cancer
"Sorry, I was in a hurry when I left yesterday. So I forgot taking it to have dry clean…" Verena bowed to
Clare to apologize as she knew that it was her own fault.
"In a hurry? And you forgot it?" Clare shouted while shaking her long curly hairs, "Do you deem
yourself the leader of the free world? So you are busy dealing with the global affairs, right? You are
nobody but an assistant in reserve! What are you busy with? Besides, as my assistant, don't you know
that I need this coat for shooting today?"
When hearing that, Verena hurried to say, "I will get it for dry clean now!"
"Now?" Clare shouted again. She walked over to Verena's front and poked her shoulder offensively,
"The shooting is about to begin! Do you think you can make it?"
Verena said anxiously, "Can we replace it with another coat?"
"Another coat? Do you think you live here? And you can do whatever you want?" Clare still looked
mad. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
The crew members beside knew well about Clare. Of course she was just venting out her bad mood in
front of her assistant for no reason.
"But it's too late to blame me! We should think of a solution instead of getting mad at me!" Verena was
trying to figure out a solution while speaking. No matter what happened, she couldn't retard the
shooting today.
However, when hearing that, Clare seemed to misunderstand her meaning. Her face was twisted out of
anger, "Now what? Are you teaching me a lesson? I, Clare Watervine, need to hear your preach, huh?
You are just my assistant! You must have put on my fur coat on your own to show off instead of
forgetting taking it for dry cleaning!"
Before Verena could refute, Joy suddenly rushed out to defend her, "How could you slander her!"
"Slander?" Clare sneered, "See? She even stretched my coat! Do you deem it a slander?"
"Come on, Verena shares the same size and height of yours! It looks so loose when you put it on. Do
you think that she stretched your coat even if she put it on?"
"Wow, what a bosom friend! Only she has the key to my dressing room! Could it be someone else who
stretched my coat?" Clare then glared at Verena and continued aggressively, "Dare you swear that you
didn't ruin my coat with the glory of your parents?"
Verena frowned and was about to refute. Suddenly, a warm voice sounded, "Miss Watervine, sorry, it
was I who stretched your coat. It's not her fault."
While speaking, Eden stood beside Verena and explained to Clare casually, "I felt a bit sick yesterday.
And Miss Moore happened to notice that my clothes were wet all over. So she made me put on your fur
coat."
"Chad!" Eden turned around and said to his assistant, "Go to get some Piense's latest editioned fur
coat for Miss Watervine in twenty minutes!"
Chad nodded and left.
When hearing that, all crew staff were looking at him with great surprise as they all knew that Piense
was the most famous brand of fashion in the world.
The value of those suits could not be simply evaluated with money. The designers of the Piense only
designed fashion suit for the top female superstars only.
They didn't expect that a photographer actually had clothes designed from by Piense.
They were all curious about his real indentity.
Eden simply shifted his eyes off Clare, who was quite surprised, then he looked at Verena, "Did you get
wet by the rain last night?"
"No." When she collected herself, she shook her head and asked worriedly, "Have you recovered?"
"Yes." Eden smiled warmly and then looked at Patty, who just arrived at the shooting site, "Can I ask
someone for help from your team?"
Patty, who always looked cold and repellent, even smiled at him unusually, "Just ask as many as you
want! Since you say so, just go ahead. Who do you want?"
"Miss Moore." Eden said and then looked at his watch. Then he looked at Verena again, "See you
later."
Verena was rendered stunned when hearing that. She only nodded out of instinct.
When Eden left, all female crew members stared at Verena with great jealousy.
"Get yourself prepared." Patty looked at her and noticed that all the other crew members were standing
still, unmoved. She frowned, "Get back to work! What the hell are you waiting for?"
All the other people soon went away. Joy grabbed Verena's sleeve and screamed, "Oh my god! You
are so lucky! Hey, get his number, alright?"
Patty kept shaking her body excitedly. When Verena collected herself, she said, "Joy, are you being too
crazy?"
"How comes? Just get his number! Get it! I am confident in you!"
Verena smiled and started to pack up her own belongings. However, her heart seemed to be moved a
bit.
…
In the Lawson Mansion, Wilson was lying on the bed while having infusion, looking pale.
Only a few days later, he looked much thinner.
Dr. Channing pushed the door opened with medicine. When hearing Wilson coughing, he frowned, "Mr.
Wilson, you have to receive chemotherapy in the hospital."
"No. I have received that a lot before. But it didn't work at all. Just let it be." Wilson shook his head.
Dr. Channing still tried to convince him, "Mr. Wilson, please go to the hospital. It won't work no matter
how long you keep yourself on the bed with infusion. Having chemotherapy is better than nothing. At
least you should seize the hope!"
"You know better than anyone else that how awful I am at this moment. I am in the terminal phase of
liver cancer. It won't help me out. Now I just want to keep myself alive as long as possible."
Wilson always suffered from puke and diarrhea before. But he didn't care about it. He only deemed it a
symptom of overwork. He didn't ask Dr. Channing for a check until the same symptoms relapsed again
and again. However, the consequence was shocking—he was actually suffering from terminal cancer.
Though he had received chemotherapy for so many times, it didn't work well. Even the most
experienced doctor from America could do nothing about it.
