Chapter 10 She Turned to be the Stepmother of Lemuel?
Chapter 10 She Turned to be the Stepmother of Lemuel?
Sammy patted on her back gently, "Miss Pretty, please don't blame daddy for this. It's all my fault.
Daddy made me stay outside the restroom. But I was so eager to see you earlier! Daddy couldn't find
me when he came out. So he went mad."
Verena was stunned and took a glimpse of that man. Then she apologized, "Sorry, I didn't know that…"
"It's okay."
Then he suddenly interrupted and sat down on the sofa. He beckoned her to take a seat opposite him,
"Now let's talk about the auction."
Verena looked pale when hearing that.
Sammy, who clung to her in her arms, also noticed that. Then he asked, "Miss, what's the matter with
me?"
"Sammy, time for dinner!" the man said seriously.
"Okay! But daddy, don't get her out! She needs to be my mommy!"
After saying a lot to his father, Sammy then left, looking reluctant.
Then only two of them were left in the room.
As Verena was still feeling agitated, the man said, "Miss Moore, let's get into the topic straight! You
should know that I bid the final price, right?"
"Yes!" Verena forced out a word to answer.
"I know why you attend the auction…" Then he continued, "I also know what you need. So we can
conclude an agreement now."
Verena looked up at him, looking calm, "So what's your purpose?"
Since he had investigated about her, he should know that she attended the auction because of her
father. Of course, she needed more money. But she had no idea what his purpose was.
"Miss Moore, you are smart. And I like to talk to the smart. My purpose is simple. I will pay off the cost
of your father in the hospital. And you need to be Sammy's stepmother."
When hearing that, Verena frowned, "Stepmother?"
"Yes, Sammy's mom passed away as soon as he was born. So he has been eager to have a mom. And
I need to fulfill his wish. So, Miss Moore, what do you think?"
"You can choose anyone of those ladies to be his stepmother. But why me?"
She could tell that this man must be one of those in the upper class. After all, he could just simply
spend eight million on her. Of course he could choose whoever he wanted. So she wanted to know why
he attended this auction.
"Because he likes you. He said you smelt like his mom."
The answer sounded quite simple. But Verena was still startled.
"So, Miss Moore, will you agree?" the man looked at her.
Agree? Or not?
Verena clenched her fists hard. Though this man looked dignified and energetic with his statuesque
body, he was still as old as her father.
Verena gritted her teeth and still nodded.
She had no room to make a choice on her own at the beginning.
Actually, she had been ready to be someone's mistress in advance. But fortunately, it seemed that her
identity this time was less shameful than expected. At least she could accept it.
At this moment, footsteps sounded. Then a middle-aged man in black suit came over, "Mr. Wilson, Mr.
Lemuel has been back to the mansion."
The man named Wilson frowned, "When?"
"An hour ago, Walker told me that Mr. Lemuel is now having dinner with Mr. Cole."
"Let's get back to the mansion." Wilson stood up and then the middle-aged man handed him a cane,
"Mr. Wilson, we have Mr. Sammy in the car now."
Wilson nodded and then walked ahead with the cane. Then he said to the man, "Follow behind my
wife."
Verena was about to leave. However, when hearing that, she knew that she had no way back. So she
also stood up and followed behind them.
After a while, a black Bentley was galloping on the road. While Wilson was sitting at the back seat and
Verena was holding Sammy and sitting on the right.
The joints of her fingers looked a bit pale and she kept her back straight up.
She didn't know what she would face then.
However, she had never expected that a huge storm was now expecting her.
As Sammy fell asleep in her arms, the car fell into silent.
The atmosphere turned to be quite suffocating.
Finally, the car arrived at the mansion as the air seemed to be frozen, where there was a nice garden
coupled with a broad lane.
Through the window, Verena could see a palatial castle. It looked grand and classic, on the middle of
which a fountain was dancing with the ups and downs of the rhythm.
Beside the lane lined up buttonwood trees. The lane was well-arranged while the leaves of the trees
were floating in the air. Then they slowly fell on the ground.
Everything looked so beautiful just like the fairy tale she heard of in her childhood. However, it was
actually the beginning of nightmare.
Finally, the car stopped in front of the mansion.
Then a servant at the gate walked over to open the door. Then he hurried to support Wilson out of the
car.
Verena also followed behind while hugging Sammy in her arms.
"Where is Lemuel?" Wilson asked the servant behind without looking back.
"Mr. Cole is asking him to play chess with him."
While speaking, they had entered the parlor.
Then they saw a charming young man wrapped in a bath towel. His body was tall and slender with his
top naked, while on the surface of which there were water drops streaming down. He squatted down on
the spiral stairs of the parlor and held another man's leg tight. Then he kept begging like a rascal,
"Lemuel, come to play with me! Come on! I won't let you go if you don't agree!"
"Come to get someone else to play with you! I've got work to do!"
The man stood with his back on them. So no one saw his face. However, his deep voice sounded
hoarse but sexy.
However, Verena felt quite familiar with his voice.
Even his back looked quite familiar! She frowned and started to wonder.
Suddenly, someone's name popped out in her mind—Lemuel Lawson!
She felt like being shocked by a bolt of lightning instantly. Then she tried to shirk it off her brain.
When seeing that, Wilson looked mad, "What are you doing? Behave yourself!"
The young man wrapped in a bath towel rolled his eyes on him and murmured to complain, "Come on,
why do you go back now? So annoying!"
While Lemuel seemed to pause a bit, then he turned around.
His tailored suit perfectly fit his slender and strong body. His handsome face looked so clear-cut just
like a statue. As he just stood there, his domineering aura seemed to cover everyone present.
Verena was stunned. She was so panicky that she almost dropped Sammy on the ground.
What was he here?
Lemuel just stood still on the stairs. When seeing Verena, he paused again and looked a bit surprised.
Then he stepped forward to go out of the parlor.
"Stop! Here is something you should notice!" Wilson shouted to stop Lemuel. Then he looked at Cole,
who was still standing on the stairs. He pointed at Verena, who looked startled and said to both ofContent © NôvelDrama.Org.
them, "From now on, she is my wife and also your stepmother!"
