Mr. President’s 72
Chapter 72
Gwen hoped it was another surprise for her best friend and would do it even without Oliver’s help with her brother.
“With what? Did she not like the honeymoon surprise? You wouldn’t be here if she did,” Gwen said worriedly, forgetting her own troubles.
She was hoping that this night would be the best for Linda but due to the news about her brother, she wasn’t thinking straight.
Oliver was more convinced that she did not know but decided to test her, just in case.
“The woman I married isn’t your best friend, true or false?”
Gwen gasped, shock lacing her voice. “Honestly, I’m confused.”
For all she knew. Linda was the one she prepared for the wedding but then, was that the reason for Oliver’s strange behavior?
She never met him in person until the wedding day, thinking that was just the way he was.
Oliver was determined to still get something from her after confirming her innocence. A clue or anything substantial.
“The night before the wedding, I spoke with Linda and you were with her.”
“Yes. Her sister was there too, but when I woke up, she was gone,” Gwen revealed. Oliver was taken aback by the revelation.
No one mentioned it to him that Linda had a sister, making everything strange and suspicious.
Could that woman be Linda’s sister? He asked Gwen. “Linda has a sister?” Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“Yes, Lily. She insisted that we have a bridal shower, but when I reached there, it was just me, her, and Linda. Linda fell asleep before me after drinking what Lily offered us. It was the same with me so I thought we were just tired.”
“I didn’t suspect anything when Linda said that Lily left. So the woman you married must be Lily.”
“They look so much alike and are often mistaken for twins, except that Linda used to dress shabbily in the past, creating a difference between them.”
Oliver did not doubt Gwen’s words. It explained the situation perfectly, so if Linda’s parents kept this secret, did it mean that something happened to Linda?
His worry increased greatly. “Her parents are not cooperating.”
“Then they are afraid, but Lily has a boyfriend. I just don’t know how to contact him, and I don’t know why she would do something like that.”
Oliver already got what he wanted and did not want to burden her any longer.
“Your brother will be out before you know it,” he said and got a cab for her before going back to Linda’s parents‘ house.
“You have two daughters. I want to see the other,” he demanded, and the couple were terrified.
It seemed to them that they couldn’t hide the truth for long. Oliver was determined and was getting information so fast, it was scary.
Still, they were afraid of endangering Linda, so they lied again.
“Lily was jealous of her kid sister, so she left with her boyfriend a few days before the wedding.”
Oliver knew it wasn’t true because this Lily was the one in his house, and he was going to deal with her greatly.
Right now, he felt like Linda was in danger, and he would be wasting time focusing on getting the truth from Lily, whom he suspected to be the culprit in this matter.
“Is that so? Then call her on the phone. I want to speak with her,” he said seriously.
Stephen brought out his phone, knowing Lily’s phone was switched off because she was using Linda’s phone.
requested.
“Her phone is switched off,” the middle–aged man said after dialing the number a couple of times, but Oliver was not ready to give up and
“Call her boyfriend.” He had a feeling that he could use Lily’s boyfriend against her but was met with the same names

“His phone is also switched off.”
Oliver thought of all the ways around the situation. Why did he feel that the couple saying Lily was with her boyfriend meant that Linda was the one with Lily’s boyfriend?
The mere thought of it caused his heart to ache. If Linda had told him about her sister, he would have known what to do from the onset, including not making that public announcement in her school and also not going ahead with the marriage.
“Where did they go?”
“California,” Susan said before Stephen could stop her.
Oliver did not go home, rather to California. He called Andrew to go with him, but the latter was already on his private jet back to Spain.
As such, he went alone, but before then, he called Nathan on the phone.
“I have a feeling that Linda is in California. The imposter is her sister and is still at the penthouse with the guards.”
“Alright. I will keep an eye on her. Let me know if you need someone to search for her in California,” Nathan said worriedly.
This was disturbing Mercedes and he wasn’t liking it one bit but Oliver needed just one more favor from him since he could not spend another minute in New York.
He had to go where there was the possibility of finding Linda.
“I’m going myself, but I want you to help get somebody out of jail. I will send the details to you.”
“What did he do?” Nathan asked worriedly. Oliver explained hastily.
“It’s a case of assault. He’s Linda’s best friend’s brother. He caught his sister’s boyfriend cheating and assaulted him.” Nathan hated cheaters, already thinking of a way around the situation since it involved Oliver’s woman’s best friend. It reminded him so much of Mercedes and Angie.
“My lawyer can handle it then. It’s just a small matter,” Nathan replied from his side of the line. Oliver was grateful. “Thanks a lot, Nathan. I owe you a lot.”
“You owe me nothing. I’m only doing it for my wife,” he said proudly.
Everyone said that Mercedes was so lucky to land a big shot like him but he always saw himself to be the lucky one.
Oliver smiled for the first time since the discovery. “Yeah, right. I’ll talk to you later.”
He went aboard his private jet, and upon reaching California, he did not know where to begin his search.
In the end, he sent Linda’s pictures to investigators after lodging into a hotel, but there was nothing.
Days passed, and he hadn’t eaten. Famished, he decided to go to the hotel coffee shop for coffee.
He didn’t want to take any alcohol, so he could have a clear mind in his search for the woman whose absence left him empty. Arriving as he ordered the coffee, a familiar figure came to serve him the coffee.
Linda?” Oliver was almost in tears.
