Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife

Chapter 62 Mr. Powell, Let’s Deal

Chapter 62 Mr. Powell, Let’s Deal

Stella bit her lips in anger and was in disbelief with the results.

She was equally stunned that Anna came up with the recipe on the spot and her mixing technique was so highly skilled.

“I lost.” Stella placed the bottle of perfume down and then looked at Diana and said, “My mixing skills can’t be compared to you. I won’t say any more, I concede.” The lady in her early twenties was so talented. No wonder Mr. Powell made her the supervisor of the perfume department.

The supervisor of the perfume department in the Powell Group had always been the top perfumer of the company. The supervisor would also represent the company to compete in the annual Sliwell City perfumer competition. In recent years, the top perfumer of Sliwell City was Mirabelle but perhaps this year the title would go to a different person.

“Let’s learn from each other from now on.” Diana extended her hand graciously.

On saying this, she looked around and asked, “Who’s next?”

On hearing that Diana had convinced other perfumers, Harper had to admit that Mr. Powell made the right decision and asked, “Mr. Powell, aren’t you going to watch Ms. Miller? She had already defeated several of the perfumers.”

Brooklyn scoffed. He was not worried about Diana’s capabilities but he was concerned that if she were to use her abilities to silence the perfumers, she might end up offending some of them.

He closed the document which he was reading, stood up, and said, “Let’s go and have a look.”

At this point, there were a lot of people who were crowding the perfume department and none of them noticed Brooklyn’s presence.

Harper looked at his expression and softly said, “Mr. Powell, I’m afraid that they are here for the drama.” Brooklyn pursed his lips and did not respond.

He looked into the room and saw Diana’s radiant smile. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Next.” Diana said with a grin.

Initially, those who competed against Diana wanted to see her fail but now they just wanted to see how far apart their skills were from Diana.

“Next.”

“Next!”

“Next…”

Diana was exhausted and wanted to continue the challenge the next day but the competitors continued to show up.

Diana said solemnly, “Can we continue this tomorrow?” She was getting tired from the continuous competition.

Someone was about to speak up but was interrupted by a deep and attractive manly voice, “That’s enough for today.” Brooklyn declared at the doorway with a hand in his pocket. He even glared at the other perfumer.

“Mr., Mr. Powell!” The perfumer greeted and quickly left. He did not want to be reprimanded by Mr. Powell.

Even after seeing that Brooklyn had arrived, some nosey onlookers still wanted to stay but left after Harper glared at them and signaled for them to leave.

The three judges also left and only Brooklyn and Diana remained in the room.

Diana smiled at Brooklyn and said, “Thanks, Mr. Powell. I’m not sure how many more I have to compete with if you didn’t turn up.” Diana shook her tired hands as she said.

She thought that she only had to defeat the leading perfumers of the company but little did she expect so many of them to take her on. They should be aware that coming up with unique recipes was very mentally taxing…

Diana removed her white laboratory robe and stretched herself.

Brooklyn scoffed, “Why did you compete with so many people even when you’re tired? Aren’t you afraid that you may offend some of them?”

Diana blinked and then answered, “I didn’t even consider that possibility.” She answered truthfully. Diana was not worried about defeating her own perfumers. If she had lost the competition, she would endeavor to improve and raise her skills. However, she had never wondered what the others would do.

Brooklyn was about to extend his hand to comfort Diana but he hesitated and kept his hands in his pockets.

He was dumbfounded. This lady was normally very cautious in her dealings with other parties but she would throw caution to the wind when faced with challengers of her field.

Diana raised her head to look at Brooklyn and was puzzled and asked, “What’s wrong, Mr. Powell?”

Brooklyn looked at Diana for a moment before answering, “Do you know what it means to become the top perfumer of the Powell Group?”

Diana put on her business suit jacket, paused, and replied, “Yes, I will have to represent the company and compete in the City’s annual master perfumer competition. However, I do not intend to participate in that competition.”

“Give me a reasonable explanation.” Brooklyn said directly, “You must participate if you do not have a good reason.”

Diana was unsettled and gloom overcame her. She had promised Mirabelle that she would not participate in the competition in exchange for some peace and civility.

Before she could stabilize herself within the Powell Group, if Mirabelle discovered that she was Diana, then knowing Mirabelle’s strong feelings for Brooklyn, she would do whatever she could to get rid of Diana. Yet, Brooklyn would not do anything to protect her.

Diana composed herself and grinned coyly, “Mr. Powell, your fiancée would be attending the competition. It would be inappropriate for me to compete directly against her.”

Brooklyn sat elegantly on the sofa in his black business suit. He looked very handsome and attractive. She might have fallen for him If the incident did not happen six years ago.

Brooklyn’s expression did not change but when he heard Diana say the word ‘fiancée’, he frowned slightly and said very softly, “What’s this got to do with her? You’re representing the interests of the Powell Group. Even if your competitor is my wife, you should equally strive to win for the Powell Group. Anna, are you thinking that I employed you to sleep with me?”

Diana was dumbfounded for several seconds. Then she rubbed her temples and replied, “Mr. Powell, is there no compromise for this? Ms. Moss is your fiancée and I would have a tough time should I antagonize her.” She did not want to live in a nightmare like the previous years.

Diana was normally strong but now she was like a timid squirrel. She was thinking of revenge but Brooklyn had a lot of tricks up his sleeves. Even if he agreed to protect her, she found it difficult to believe him.

“Mr. Powell, if you don’t agree, then shall we make a deal?” Diana said and took a deep breath.

The room fell dead silent.

Brooklyn’s expression did not change a tiny bit when he heard what Diana said and asked, “What are you using for this deal?” Brooklyn said coldly as he continued to look at Diana.

Diana calmed down, took another look at Brooklyn, cleared her throat, and replied, “Mr. Powell, don’t you have insomnia? I can ensure you that I can cure your insomnia. How about it?”
