Chapter 63 Who Is This Person
“Huh? What’s that mean?”
“So don’t go out in daylight today.”
“…”
That rare bit of goodwill she felt towards Matthew faded instantly.
Blanca pushed him off directly, eyes spitting fire. “Matthew Grant! If your so-called duties of being Mrs. Grant is to ward off your suitors and take hits for you, then I don’t think I’m suitable for the task!”
She wasn’t some dummy target to be shot at by everyone.
Blanca scowled. Her features were delicate, but maybe because it was her emotions or maybe because she’d been slapped, her cheeks were red and puffy, a comical sight.
“Pfft.”
Matthew didn’t manage to hold back his laughter. The way he looked at her face, Blanca understood immediately.
She clutched her own face and looked at Matthew, angered. Matthew set his smile away and said calmly, “Do you still get to choose? Don’t you want to know who the pendant belongs to?”
Matthew knew exactly where her weakness was.
The wind went out of Blanca’s sails.

Where did she come from? Why did her parents abandon her? That had weighed on her all this time, torturing her every day.
Like a deflated balloon, Blanca’s eyes dimmed. “Is that the only trick you have up your sleeve, Matthew?”
“Hm?”
“You don’t even know about the pendant, do you?” Blanca bit her lip, her eyes full of doubt. She wasn’t really questioning Matthew but trying to provoke him.
Matthew, though, was utterly unmoved. He shrugged and said carelessly, “If you don’t believe me, you could leave, but… the marriage certificate has been signed, and no matter where you go, you won’t change that fact.”
“…” Sly bastard!
This was part of his machinations too, apparently!
Blanca ground her teeth, but there was nothing she could do. With how calm Matthew looked right now, she felt like she’d been played and was about to up and leave. Then Matthew suddenly stood and looked at her mildly. “Where do you think you’re going looking like that?”
“I’m going out for some fresh air.” She’d probably kill somebody if she kept looking at him.
“With a face like that, are you trying to put on a circus show?” Matthew said, shooting her a teasing look.
Blanca’s rage was at maximum right now, but before she could say or do anything about it, Matthew got up and left. “I have a meeting. Stay here.”
His tone was commandeering. Blanca didn’t notice that he’d looked specifically at her face before he walked out.
With Matthew gone, the tension inside the office returned to normal.
Blanca rubbed her face, sucking down a cold breath.
“Ow…” That Elizabeth had really been too vicious!
Who was she, anyway?
Blanca was about to take out her phone and check. If she was blood of a noble family like Matthew, there ought to have been information about her online, right? But the moment she produced her phone, the door opened. Thinking it was Matthew coming back, Blanca hurriedly sat up from the sofa. She’d been lying down, and if Matthew saw it, he’d probably say she wasn’t sitting up properly again.
“Madam, this is for you to get the swelling down.”
