Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 58 The History

They pulled over in front of the mansion. Matthew entered the door first while Blanca was still hesitating at the door.

After all, this was not her home.

“Blanca, do you want me to carry you into the house?” said Matthew.

He could sense that she had been like this the whole day. Was it because he was mean to her?

As Matthew walked towards her, Blanca hastily stepped inside the house.

But she walked past him and entered the bedroom without having her dinner.

Blanca lied on the soft bed and felt terrible. She hadn’t had lunch today and now she was starving.

But whenever she closed her eyes, she could see Matthew shouting at her, “Take them off!”

She was just wearing some clothes.

Just because she was poor, she was not qualified to wear expensive clothes?

She reminded herself of the look on the police officer’s face when he checked her identity and found out she once was in the juvenile prison. She felt horrible when she was treated like that.

The memory of her past haunted her constantly…

After a while, Blanca was starved and couldn’t take it anymore. She thought for a while and went out of the bedroom. She wanted to sneak into the kitchen and find something to eat.

However, when she went out, she saw the light of the study was on.

“Mr. Grant, why didn’t you tell Mrs. Grant what really happened?”

It was Mrs. Brown. Blanca frowned and didn’t want to be nosy. Just as she was about to walk away, Mrs, Brown continued, “Back then, what happened to your mother hit you hard and you have been keeping those clothes carefully. She would be happy to see that. But Mr. Grant, what’s past is past. Why are you still holding on the past? Mrs. Grant just didn’t really mean anything…”

What?

Those clothes belonged to his mother.

Blanca suddenly felt regretful and guilty.

Matthew laughed sarcastically and said, “Mrs. Brown, I’m tired. You don’t need to mind me.”

Mrs. Brown sighed and walked out. Blanca had no time to hide and these two bumped into each other.

Mrs Brown was stunned and Blanca hurriedly greeted her. Mrs. Brown sighed again and shut the door.

Blanca didn’t know it was because of her mother.

She sat on the couch of the living room and listened to Mrs. Brown as she talked about Matthew’s childhood. Mrs. Brown wept and held Blanca’s hands, “Mrs. Grant, your husband has a pretty rough childhood. Please tolerate his misbehavior. That woman who framed you is Marry Robinson. She was fired by Mr. Grant.”

Fired?

Blanca then realized that what happened this afternoon was a setup.

Her feelings were quite mixed. The next day, Matthew asked Mrs. Brown to cook her favorite dishes, “Go to the company with me after you finish your meals.”

“I…”

“You think you have a choice?” Matthew frowned, “everyone in the company knew what happened yesterday. You want them to gossip about our fight? Blanca, don’t forget your duty.”

“Fine…”

Blanca had experienced what it was like to be on the headlines. She was constantly watched even when she was just going out. She had to say yes. Seeing that she didn’t resist him that much like yesterday, Matthew squinted his eyes and fixed them on Blanca.
