Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 29 Wait For Me To Come Back

Blanca’s scalp tingled and she shook her head furiously.

Having to deal with this narcissist businessman every morning and night was enough. Facing him every single day was a prospect that gave her goosebumps.

Mary looked at Matthew as he whispered with Blanca, their heads together, as if nobody else was around, feeling a surge of hateful envy, clenching her jaws so hard she almost shattered her mandibles.

But it was fine, she told herself. Even if Matthew didn’t like her now, it didn’t mean he wouldn’t like her going forward. So long as she stayed by his side, she still had a shot!

She was just about to ask more about the payment when she heard Matthew call out, “Miss Robinson, my secretary will get in touch with you about the payment.”

Then Matthew took Blanca’s hand and returned to the office.

Leaving behind his gaping subordinates. Mary and Lisa were boiling mad.

Back at the office, Blanca asked right away – “Is my outfit really worth a hundred K?”Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yeah.”

Matthew’s reply was mild. “What about it?”

Blanca was speechless. What about it her foot!

“Why did you buy me something that expensive?!” Blanca wore a confused question mark on her face.

Matthew frowned. “I’m free to spend my money however I want, aren’t I?”

“…”

There was no arguing with this guy.

Well, since he’d said that, Blanca just stopped worrying about the money for him. She was still angry with him after all.

“What, are you angry with me just because I bought you expensive clothes?” Looking at the irritated look the woman wore, it didn’t seem like she was joking, and Matthew grew a bit bemused as well.

Blanca took a deep breath. “That’s not it!”

What she was thinking right now was – he might have protected her and dealt with the matter fairly, but she had to worry about his judgement of character.

That Lisa had gone too far! Deliberately backing up everything Mary tried, and Matthew hadn’t even seen a thing!

Well, just thinking about it was enough. Blanca didn’t like to talk behind others’ backs. If she hadn’t been so angry today, she wouldn’t have put Mary in the crosshairs with Matthew.

Besides, she felt that even though Lisa was despicable, she should have been capable enough if she was staying by Matthew’s side. Blanca also knew that her relationship with Matthew was just for the contract. What kind of secretaries and subordinates he had didn’t have much to do with her.

Blanca didn’t go on and she extricated her hand from Matthew’s. “If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.”

Matthew tugged her in place, though. “Wait.”

She was about to ask what it was when he took his suit jacket and laid it on Blanca’s shoulders. The broad suit just managed to cover the stain on Blanca’s dress.

Blanca had been about to refuse, but when she thought about it, it wasn’t too good to walk out all grimy. She was the wife of the head of the Empire Group now, and she had her image to consider.

“All right, I’m off.”

“Okay.” Matthew stuffed her phone into her hand and gave her a little rap on the head. “Klutzy and forgetful.”

Blanca looked up, annoyed as she rubbed her forehead and glared unhappily at Matthew. “That hurt, Grant!”

Matthew’s lips curved up into a smile. “I’m coming back for dinner tonight. Wait for me.”
