Mommy 296
“Have dinner, go to bed, and read, Charlie said calmly. “See, I’m very busy.”
Kamryn was dumbfounded.
“How can you do this?” she said, amused and angry. “We had a deal. Don’t go back on your word!”
“I won’t go back on my word.”
“Then let’s go to the vet after dinner?”
Charlie showed a look of disgust on his face and said, “Why are you forcing me to go to a place that’s smelly and dirty with lots of animal hair and poop?”
Kamryn was amused by his vivid description and couldn’t help bursting into laughter.
“You’re exaggerating. Animal hospitals are nicely decorated and clean inside. If you don’t trust me, you can go see for yourself
Charlie sneered with a look that said, “Don’t try to lie to mer
“Are you sure you won’t go?”
“Yes!”
Kamryn rolled her eyes and revealed a slightly disappointed and sad expression.
She spread out her hands and said, “Okay, then stay at home, watching over Eugene. I’ll go by myself”

her wherever she needed to go, and it was very convenient,
Charlie frowned and looked at her unhappily. “You’re going by yourself?”
Yes!
“You can’t go!”
“Why not? Just because you don’t want to go?”
“No reason. You just can’t go!”
He would never let her go to the vet alone.
There were a lot of cats and dogs.
Without him watching her, she would pet all of them happily. He wouldn’t allow that.
His brow furrowed.
“Hey! Don’t be so bossy, okay?” said the unhappy Kamryn, with a stern expression on her face and hands on her hips. “I asked you to come with me, but you declined. Now I want to go on my own, but you’re not letting me. What exactly do you want?”
I want to throw the stupid dog away, as far as possible!‘ thought Charlie.
He tightly pursed his thin lips and reluctantly agreed under her strong in
strong insistence.
Aher a while, they walked out of the bathroom and heard a servant’s panicked voice from the balcony. “Mr. Eugene, this puppy is too dirty Stay away from it. Please don’t touch it. Please let it go.
The two of them were stunned
Charle frowned and strode to the balcony.
Kamryn was worried and hurried over too.
When they arrived at the balcony, they found that things were not as serious as they had imagined.
With an anxious look, the servant stood in front of the box he had placed in the corner of the balcony, spreading his arms out and sweating heavily,
Eugene stood across from him, his handsome face indifferent and unhappy.
“Eugene!”
Charlie walked over and asked seriously, “What are you doing here?”
The little boy glanced at him, turned his head, and said nothing.
“I just asked you a question!”
Charlie frowned and walked over to the other side, his tone of voice growing more stern. Unexpectedly, Eugene ignored him and turned his head to the other side, remaining silent. Kamryn noticed Charlie’s frown deepen, so she pulled him, signaling for him to let her speak.
He silently took a step back, aware that she had always been better at handling Eugene than he was.
She stepped forward and said softly, “Eugene?”
The little boy moved slightly.
She acted sad and said, “Honey, you haven’t spoken to me in a while. I’m really bummed. Eugene, do you not want me to be your mom anymore?”
The little boy moved again. His eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly turned around.
Kamryn squatted in front of him, raised her pitiful face, and said sadly, “Do you really not want me to be your mommy anymore?”
Nicole was silent.
Unable to resist her sad face, the little boy finally said, “I want you!”
“That’s a relief!” said Kamryn with a beaming smile.
Then she asked, “Do you also like this dog very much? So you came to see it?”
Eugene nodded slightly.
“Then let’s keep the dog, so you can see it every day, okay?”
“Okay!”
He immediately nodded.
Kamryn smiled and said, “Your dad agreed to let us keep it. And we are going to take it to the animal hospital after dinner to give it a bath and a check–up Eugene, do you want to go with us?”
Eugene’s eyes lit up. He looked up at her, and it was the first time he had raised his head all night. “Can I go?” he asked.
“Of course. Do you want to go? Kamryn blinked at him.
Eugene gave a firm nod, his eyes even brighter.
In just a few minutes, she had coaxed Eugene into a better mood. Then she took his hand, and they sat down to eat.
After dinner, the family of three changed their clothes. Kamryn helped Eugene put on gloves and a mask. Then they drove to the vet with the little puppy.
It was late already. When they rushed there, the vet was about to leave. Seeing Kamryn coming in holding Eugene’s hand without any pets, he asked curiously, “What’s the matter, Miss? We’re closed!”

“Can you help us? I found a stray dog by the road. Can you please bathe it and give it vaccines and insect repellent?” Kamryn asked gently.
The vet thought for a moment and asked, “How big is the dog?”
“Probably less than a month?” She was not
The vet shook his head repeatedly and said, “I can’t wash it! It’s too small for a bath. It can easily get a cold.”
“But it’s wet already. If it isn’t washed, it’ll get sick too, right?”
“I’m sorry. I can’t do it. Besides, we’re closed. You’d better go somewhere else!”
The vet shook his head several times, showing his determination that he couldn’t help her.
He thought to himself. This puppy is too small and she has just taken it home. What if something happens to it after its bath and vaccinations? Will she blame me? I don’t want to take on this responsibility. Doing business is tough right now. Although this lady doesn’t seem like an unreasonable customer, I still have to be careful.
The vet was going to reject her once more when a tall man approached from behind Kamryn.
With a scowl, Charlie stood behind her, holding the cardboard box, his eyes were sharp and cold. He noticed that the vet had closed the door, and his face became darker, showing that he was unhappy with the situation.
He snorted and said, ‘Open the door!”
Oh my god! This man is so intimidating! thought the vet, scared by Charlie’s gaze and trembling all over. He didn’t even dare to question Charlie, turned around, and opened the door.
He complained to himself, ‘Does this man need to be so fierce? He looks like I owe him millions of dollars!”
