A True Alpha
Hazel looked at Rex, then at Axel. What was going on with these two brothers?
The both of them were not even paying attention to her. They had their eyes on each other, glaring at each other while their hands held onto Hazel tightly, each unwilling to let go of her.
“What is wrong with you, Axel?” She asked him but he gave no response, neither did he react like he had heard her speak just now.
“Let go of her, Axel. She is my date”
“No, you let go of her, Rex. My woman cannot be your date” he replied laying emphasis on the the words ‘my woman’.
“She is not your woman!”
“She is.” Axel gritted his teeth.
“Let go of her” Rex groaned and tugged at Hazel’s arms to pull her away.
Hazel winced as she felt hurt in her arm due to the pull. Axel immediately let go of her hand, seeing her in pains was something he had never been able to stand and he still was unable to stand it.
“Goodnight”
“Leave my home soon and lock my door” Hazel whispered to him.
“You will regret leaving with him, Hazel” Axel muttered but Hazel didn’t care and walked away with Rex.
With his eyes on their retreating figure, he brought out his phone and dialed Clarissa’s contact.
Clarissa picked up the call at the third ring.
“Send me the address of the restaurant for the date”
*
“About what I said to you last night….” Hazel started, playing with her fingers as she talked.
“You should have some beef, it is well grilled” Rex cut in and Hazel pressed her lips into a thin line.
She certainly was not here to eat grilled beef but it was now starting to seem like so as that was the only thing they had done since they arrived here.
“Yes, thanks. But I really want to know if you are having a rethink. Do you think the both of us could he together?” She asked him and Rex finally dropped his cutlery.
He reached his hand forward for Hazel’s hands and held it gently in his own hands, giving it a soft caress.
“This date should be an answer to it already. I am giving us a shot” he replied and a huge smile parted her lips.
“Really?” Her face beamed with happiness.
“Yes, really” he affirmed with a soft smile on his lips.
“The both of us have not found our mates yet. Who knows? When you eventually shift, you might be my mate” Rex suggested and that guess made Hazel even happier.
That was her greatest wish. Finding her wolf side and being mated to Rex.
“So… We are dating now?” She asked and Rex nodded his head in affirmation.
He could do anything to take away Axel’s happiness and prove his capability to Axel.
“We are dating now and you know that you should stay away from Axel. I do not like him being around you”
“I promise you I will stay away from him. What happened earlier on was nothing but a huge mistake and it is never going to happen again” she assured him.
“I know” Rex mumbled in his gentle voice that she adored so much.
Rex brought out a necklace from his pocket and got up to his feet.
“I bought this for you”
Hazel could hardly believe her luck as he got behind her and placed the necklace on her neck, his fingers gently brushing her skin.
She smiled widely as he fixed the necklace around her neck and returned to his seat.
“You look beautiful” his eyes adored her.
“Thank you so much for the gift. I love it. ” She showed her appreciation.
“I am glad you do love it” Rex replied.
He most certainly did not feel anything for her and his eyes told so but Hazel could not see that. All she could see in his eyes was adoration and love that was absolutely not there.
Her phone beeped at that moment with a message.
“Just a moment”
She brought out her phone and checked it out. It was a message from Clarissa.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
“I am sorry buddy” the message read.
Hazel wondered for a moment but shrugged it off.
She returned her phone into her purse, her hands touching something that seemed like a necklace but she was sure she had not dropped a necklace into the purse.
It could only be one person…. Axel.
“It’s my first time having an actual love partner and I might not be good at it but I hope you can bear with me” she tried speaking to Rex.
“Yeah, sure. It’s fine. I would lead you into the world of love and happiness” Rex said to her, doing something on his phone.
Hazel lowered her head and surpressed giggles that were threatening to drop from her lips.
By the time, Rex dropped his phone, he had a pretty urgent look on his face.
“I am sorry but we have to end this now. I have to be somewhere”
“Oh, I see. It’s alright”
Rex got off his seat and Hazel did the same. The both of them walked over the car park in silence.
Rex walked with Hazel to the door of the other side of the car to open it up for her but as soon as they got to that side of the door, he wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned in for a kiss.
There was no protest or resistance from Hazel but she knew something. The sparks she had felt when Axel had held her the last night was missing when it was Rex.
‘Maybe the sparks will come later’
She guessed and closed her eyes in expectations of a kiss.
Rex’s lips had almost touched hers when the scent of Axel filled his nose, notifying him of the presence of Axe.
“Stop!” Axel’s voice interrupted the kiss and Hazel groaned.
As much as she had not felt the sparks, she still wanted the kiss to happen so badly!
“You are not giving up?” Rex questioned but without a response, Axel grabbed Hazel by the wrist.
“I am never giving up on what is mine” he replied.
“Not when she is now mine”
“Hazel is now my girlfriend.”
Axel’s eyes dimmed for a second before he glanced at Axel.
“Did I hear that right?” He questioned her.
For a moment, Hazel could not find her voice to speak for a reason she did not know but she eventually did speak.
“Yes, you heard that right, Axel. I am his girlfriend now” Hazel responded, her voice lower and thinner than she had expected it to be.
“Now, would you let go of my girlfriend?” Rex questioned but Axel’s possessiveness kicked in.
He did not love a girl for the entirety of his life only to lose her to his brother whom he knew was clearly joking around with her.
“Your girlfriend is my woman” his words were more like a growl as he pulled her behind him.
He took two steps closer to Rex, his fists were clenched and his teeth gritted together as he tried not to lose it.
“She is my woman” Rex spelt out and Axel let out a growl, deep and totally wolf like.
He was losing his humanity to his wolf self and Hazel had only seen him do that once when a boy had tried to force her into some really rough erotic dancing.
She knew how bad it could be and whatever happened, she feared that side of him and did not want it coming out.
“Axel, calm down” She grabbed his arm, trying to pull him back.
“You do not need to calm him down, babe. There is little he can do anyways” Rex was definitely trying to provoke Axel into fighting and he was being successful with that.
“Axel, just calm down” Hazel patted his arm, ignoring the words of Rex.
Axel looked towards her, his eyeballs flashing an instant red that made her eyes grow wide.
He was not just a wolf, he was an Alpha wolf, the strongest of their kind, he was a true Alpha wolf.
