Mated To My Alpha Brother

Chapter 12

“Stop right there!” Lian commanded in a tone that he hasn’t used on her in years.

Mia couldn’t help but freeze on that spot. She couldn’t go against that command.

“Come back here.” He said again and slowly, Mia climbed down back.

“You must accept her apology and get things right!” He said again. He signaled at Rosie to apologize and the latter got it.

“I’m just sorry for all I’ve done to you. I feel bad now that I look back on them, I’m sorry.” Rosie said in a broken tone and a tone that sounded sincere.

Mia knew she was just putting on a façade and it angered her the more. *How can a person pretend like this?*

Rosie stretched her hand forward.”I hope we’ll get along well in the future.”

Mia ignored the handshake and turned to Lian. “Happy now?”

She didn’t wait for a response and she walked back up. Her heart was really heavy, and she needed to unload it.

Getting into her room, she broke down and cried hard. The pain became much as she tried hard not to make it obvious that she was crying so she had to cry mildly. Lian just made a fool out of her. He forced her to do what she didn’t want to… and for the first time, he wasn’t on her side. He supported that evil witch instead!Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Maybe she shouldn’t have expected too much from him…

Mia woke up very early the next morning and prepared for school.

She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a potion that masks one’s scent.

After drinking some of it, she left the house, boarded a cab and headed to the hospital.

“Hey girly, why are you here so early?” Jabi asked.

“Is that a crime?”

“Well.. it’s odd, for someone who doesn’t even wake up by this time. Some of our classmates just left, they came to check on that punk.” Jabi said.

Mia chortled a little.

“By the way, where’s alpha Lian?” Jabi asked, peeping outside maybe she’d catch him.

“He… had to go somewhere so I told him to drop me here.” Mia lied.

“That’s unusual, Lian would never come here without checking on Axel.”

“Don’t you think you’re being overly sensitive today?” Mia asked. “Am I?”

“Yes you are.” Mia said teasingly and they laughed together. “Have you had breakfast?” “No.”

“Then let’s grab something at the cafeteria, they have delicious foods here.” Jabi said cheerfully.

“Hey Jabi.”

Jabi looked surprised and stood up.

“Alpha Lian… I… I thought Mia said–”

“Where is she now?” He asked, ignoring her thoughts.

“She left a while ago.” She replied.

“Mia, we need to talk.” Lian said as he grabbed her hand.

She looked at him emotionlessly. “What is it?”

“Come with me.” He said as he dragged her along with him. They got to the rooftop of the seniors’ building and stopped.

“What is it?” Mia asked. She was kinda bored about it all.

“Why did you leave home without informing me this morning?” He queried.

“Do I need to report to you every single thing?” Mia retorted. He wasn’t expecting it. Mia had never been like this.

“Mia you–”

“Julian…” She called gently. That was the first time in eternity she’d be calling him that. She let out a breath. “I think it’d be best for you and me to keep a distance.”

“What?” Lian exclaimed. “Right. You are an adult and you have a life to live, I shouldn’t meddle in your affairs right? I’m a pre-adult and I believe we have rights to privacy. I don’t want to expect anything from you and I want you to do that also. It’s all for our good.

I have lectures now and I don’t want to be late.” She said everything calmly and accordingly before walking out.

Lian felt like though he has been stabbed by a wooden knife. Every single word she said pierced through his heart and he stood there, doing or saying nothing.

It just took a long time for him to process what she said. A distance? Yeah.. sure. Maybe that would also be of help to him.

“Mia?” Miss Maria called for the umpteenth time. That was when Mia snapped out of her trance.

“Ma?”

“I just asked you a question.”

“Oh.. I’m sorry, I.. wasn’t following.” Mia said as she bowed her head in shame. She had been reminiscing what happened earlier, she just couldn’t get her mind off it. She never followed lectures ever since it started.

“I’ll answer the question in her place.” Alexander suddenly stood up. He had also noticed that she wasn’t in her right mind.

“Why?” Miss Maria queried.

“She isn’t feeling well at the moment so it must be hard to follow the lectures.” Alexander replied wittily and Miss Maria scoffed inside. She hated that he was trying to cover up for Mia.

“Never mind. Having put down everything on this topic, I’ll leave now. Good day.” She said to the class and walked out.

“Uhm.. Lian? I.. want to use the restroom briefly, I’ll be back. You can wait in the car.” Rosie said before walking off.

They were at a mall. Rosie had forced him to follow her and he had no choice.

As he was about to go into his car, he sighted an aged woman, whose goods fell off her hand. They probably slipped.

He jogged to her and helped her pick them up. “Urhh… thank you so much.” She said and smiled.

As she looked up at him, her gaze didn’t live for a while. Lian wondered what she was looking at.

“Good grief…’Su adversarios son cerca.’ Tsk tsk.”
