Chapter 10
He rested his hands on the wall, to support his body. Invisible sweats formed on his forehead immediately, not mind the fact that he was in the shower.
He managed to turn off the faucet and wrapped a white towel around him. The pain became Joe sharper and he held on to the white washing basin. His eyes soon turned red but he didn’t cry.
His veins popped out on the head, arms and body. The pain was tormenting than the former ones. He felt really weak; his pain relief pills were in the room but it seems like it would take forever to get there.
“Madam Julie!” He called with gathered up strength but his voice came out in a faint trace.
Then it Suddenly occurred to him that he had brought his phone in with him earlier. He looked around the bathroom and spotted it. He tried hard to get to where the phone was and when he got a hold of the device, the first person he called was Jabi, but she didn’t pick the call. She was still mad at him.
Taking in a deep and quick breath, he dialed Mia’s number and she wasn’t picking up also. The phone fell off his hand as he slumped.

“I heard you created a scene at the cafeteria today.” Lian said, leaning on the table in the dining room. ‘What? Was I too loud’ Mia thought.
“Well, it was necessary.” She replied as she tossed a bottled water at him, which he caught at once. She uncapped the bottled water in her hand and gulped the water down.
Lian’s gaze was fixed on her for a while. ‘You skipped lunch, didn’t you?”
*How did he know?* Truthfully, she had picked on her meal with Alexander earlier. “You didn’t eat after all.” Lian sighed.
“If you keep skipping meals like that, no gifts for you on your 18th birthday.” He said, in a threatening tone as he uncapped his bottled water.
“Are you fucking serious?” Mia shouted. Lian didn’t replied as he started consuming the bottled water, placing the mouth between his lush, red lips. As he emptied the bottle, water smeared on his lips, making them look more alluring and tempting to feel, touch and probably kiss.
Mia totally zoned out as she developed crazy and sexual thoughts about her brother. She didn’t even notice when he stopped drinking.
Lian wiped his lips with the back of his palm and everything he did made loud sounds to Mia’s ears. The batting of his eye, wiping off water and all.
“Mia? Mia!” Lian called for the umpteenth time and she zoned back in. She lost count of everything, the uncapped bottled water in her hand fell off and the remaining water poured on the floor.
As she tried to get a hold of the bottle, she stepped on the already slippery tile and slipped. Before Lian could do anything, she landed butt on the floor and it went numb.
He rushed to her. “Are you okay?” He asked as he lifted her in a bridal style but she didn’t respond. She was still trying to get a grasp of everything that just happened.
He placed her on a dining chair gently. “You should be more careful Mia.” All she did was stare at him like he wasn’t the same person she had been living with. “Mia are you okay? You look like you just saw a ghost.” Lian said worriedly.
“I’m…. fine.” She managed to utter.

Axel was about to pass out when his phone suddenly rang out loud. Thank goodness, the phone was near him. The caller was Jabi. He picked the call and the first thing he heard was, “Hey airhead, I won’t listen to you if you are going to anger me the more.”
“Jabi..” He called in a low tone. “I’m.. I’m in pain. I’m dying.” He managed to communicate, then blacked out.
Jabi sensed something was wrong in his expression. “What do you mean?” She didn’t get a response and trepidation overwhelmed her.
“Axel? Axel? Are you there? Speak up you punk!” She yelled and her mum rushed down the stairs.
“Jabi what’s going on?” Lady Fiona asked worriedly.
“Mum, Axel gave me a call now and.. and.. he said.. he is dying.. what’s that supposed to mean?” She asked with evident fear in her voice.
“Dying? Something’s wrong with him then! What else did he say?”
“Nothing.. I didn’t hear anymore.”
“And you’re sitting there? That’s real trouble Jabi.” Her mum alarmed and Jabi suddenly sprinted towards the center table, picked up her mum’s car key and ran out of the house.
She tried calling Mia as she drove to his house. “Mia, Axel is dying.” She said without even letting the latter speak.
“What? What are you saying?” Mia got confounded.
“I don’t even know! He called and said it.” Jabi yelled impatiently.
“Where are you now?
“On the way to his place.”
“I’ll call the ambulance and join you soon.” Mia said and hung the call.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Jabi barged into the house, which was dark. Her hand found it’s way to the switch and turned on the lights. She knew the house like the back of her hand.
“Axel! Axel! Where are you?” She kept repeating until she got to the second floor.
She looked around his room and saw that the bathroom’s door was opened. Without, hesitating, she walked into the bathroom and saw him lying on the floor, looking lifeless.
She was stunned for some minutes. He was in towel, like half naked with a wet body. She was distracted by his hot and sexy abs not until he started changing into his wolf form.
He was an average and greyish wolf but he was weak at the moment. “Axel!” She screamed when she snapped out of it.
She ran to him. “Oh no!”
Just then, she heard an ambulance’s siren and she remembered Mia saying she would call the hospital. She gasped.
