End
If asked what brings immense happiness to Kaivan Maximilian at the moment, there are only two answers: Anne and their beautiful daughter.
If only he had listened to his ego in the past, perhaps he and Anne wouldn’t have ended up as happy as they are now. Kaivan also expresses continuous gratitude to the friends who successfully convinced him to marry a woman he once clearly didn’t know.
Up to this moment, Kaivan still can’t comprehend how God orchestrated his life’s scenarios so skillfully. How could he, who was once famously arrogant, surrender so easily to someone named Annatasia? And now he finds himself enjoying life, especially with their beautiful daughter finally born into the world.
“Kimmy, pay attention,” Kaivan commands. “When shooting, you need to focus on the target in front of you. Take a slow breath. Then exhale as the bullet is released from the pistol you’re holding,” he explains seriously.
Currently, Kaivan is at the shooting range, accompanied by his beloved daughter, engaging in an activity that has been his hobby for a while.
“You’re truly crazy!” Edward shakes his head, bewildered. “How could you bring Kimmy to shooting practice? She’s just four years old, Kai,” he protests.
Kimmy Estelle Maximilian is Kaivan and Anne’s daughter, who has just turned four. Despite her young age, the toddler is always enthusiastic when her father invites her to shooting practice, just like now.
“Don’t worry, Ed. Kimmy is only observing. She needs to be exposed to these things often, just like now. I’m doing this to help develop her instincts from an early age.”
“I know,” Edward acknowledges. “You and Anne even started teaching her self-defense at such a young age. Both of you are really unconventional. Why not let our daughter play with dolls like other normal toddlers?” Once again, the blue-eyed man voices his objection. He feels uneasy seeing someone as young as Kimmy engaging in adult-like hobbies.
“So, you think Kimmy isn’t normal?” Kaivan narrows his eyes, not pleased with Edward’s recent comment.
“Not like that. Look at your daughters. They enjoy their childhood so much. Playing like regular kids do. And your daughter? At this age, you’re already teaching her how to fight. I’m even worried that when Kimmy grows up, you’ll send her to the battlefield.”
“You’re crazy!” Kaivan exclaims, playfully punching Edward’s arm. “I’m not that kind of father. Besides, I’ve already said, every parent has their own way of raising their sons and daughters. You have no right to be a ‘judgmental person’ when others don’t share your views.”
“You’re stubborn, Kai.” Edward surrenders. He has never won an argument against the eldest son of the Maximilian family.
After the shooting practice, Kimmy is seen running to the kitchen, approaching her mother. Extending her arms, the little toddler asks to be hugged.
“Hello, Snow Princess. How was your day out? Did you have fun?” Anne asks as she releases the embrace. In the next moment, she walks over to the dining table, guiding her daughter to sit down.
“Everything’s fine, Mommy,” Kimmy chirps. The little girl responds while enjoying the waffle that Anne specially prepared for her. “Kimmy also took a photo with a beautiful aunt there,” she shares.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Oh, really?” Anne smiles upon hearing her daughter’s chatter. “Did you get to know her?”
Kimmy shakes her head gently. Still focused on her plate of food, the little one replies, “No. But her photo is on Kimmy’s phone.”
“I see.” Anne nods, then reaches her hand to gently pat the top of the toddler’s head. Kimmy is the type of child who easily becomes familiar with others. She’s not selective. Moreover, her adorable antics often make adults amused. “What matters is that you had a good day today.”
“Don’t worry.” From the doorway, Kaivan’s voice chimes in. He immediately approaches and pulls a chair, seating himself. “Our Snow Princess really enjoyed her activities today.”
Anne smiles. She then offers a warm cup of chamomile tea for Kaivan to enjoy.
“Thank goodness. I’m glad to see Kimmy always enthusiastic to follow you wherever you go.”
“Perhaps when she grows up, our Snow Princess can become a great woman just like her mother.”
Anne blushes. She feels flattered by the compliment Kaivan has given her.

“What story would you like to read tonight?” Kaivan asks his daughter.
“Hmm… How about Cinderella, Daddy?” the little girl responds.
“You’ve heard that story almost every night, Sweetheart.”
Kimmy stays quiet. The little girl playfully rolls her eyes as if contemplating what other story she’d like to hear tonight.
“Okay. In that case, I choose Rapunzel and Aurora,” she says.
Even though she has her own room, Kaivan still spends time with Kimmy every night. He reads stories to her or simply chats until the Snow Princess falls asleep.
Like tonight, after reading two stories, the beautiful daughter finally dozes off. After finishing his duties, Kaivan dimly adjusts the lamp and kisses Kimmy’s forehead before returning to the main bedroom. He approaches Anne, who is still busy removing her makeup.
“Is Kimmy asleep?” Anne asks as Kaivan enters the room. He walks up to her and embraces his wife from behind.
“Yes. It’s not difficult to get our daughter to sleep. Just read her a fairy tale, and she’ll drift off on her own.”
“Kimmy truly is a blessing from God. She’s rarely been a bother to both of us, even when she was still in the womb.”
Kaivan nods. He gives a brief peck on Anne’s forehead before responding. “You and Kimmy are the most beautiful blessings that God has given me.” He then gently lifts Anne up, carrying her to the bed. He lays her down and, without hesitation, presses a deep kiss on the woman he deeply loves.
“You know, Kai,” Anne speaks up after their kiss. “Our daughter mentioned that she took a photo with a pretty aunt. Did Edward bring Naomi to the shooting range?” she asks curiously.
“No,” Kaivan replies. “It was just the two of us.”
“Then who’s the pretty aunt our daughter was talking about?” Anne squints her eyes suspiciously. Her expression shows her doubt. “Did you-”
“By God, I didn’t bring another woman, Honey,” Kaivan interjects, cutting off Anne’s train of thought. He responds as if understanding what his wife is thinking. “I was with Edward only. No other participants. Besides, why not just check Kimmy’s phone? Maybe she has the photo saved there.”
Anne nods, acknowledging her husband’s statement. “You’re right. Kimmy did say she saved the photo on her phone.”
Anne then scoots down from the bed, hurrying over to her vanity table. She picks up Kimmy’s phone that’s been placed there. Opening the gallery app, Anne uses her slender fingers to navigate through the folders one by one, searching for the photo Kimmy mentioned. She’s intensely curious about who had taken a picture with her daughter. Finally, her eyes widen in disbelief as she comes across what she’s been looking for.
Suddenly, Anne’s eyes widened. She seemed to shake her head repeatedly, clearly unable to believe what she was seeing. Kaivan, who was curious too, immediately inquired, seeking to confirm what Anne was actually seeing.
“What’s wrong, Honey? Is there something amiss?”
“You need to see this for yourself, Kai.”
Anne promptly handed her phone to Kaivan, allowing her husband to examine the image she had just seen. As Anne had suspected, Kaivan’s expression also turned to one of astonishment. He stared at the image for a while before murmuring softly.
“Why, Sweetheart? Is something wrong?”
“You need to see for yourself, Kai.”
Anne immediately handed her phone to Kaivan, letting him inspect the image she had just seen. As Anne had anticipated, Kaivan appeared surprised as well. He gazed at the picture for a long moment before whispering softly.
“Veronica. How could she take a photo with our daughter?”
