SUSPICIOUS BOSS 2
Darkness took over the sky. Ralph and Lucinda went out to eat in the nearby restaurant, again sitting across from each other. Ralph stared at the menu and then at the waiter.
"I would like to order a mini-sized fish pizza; what about you, Lucy?" He locked his gaze on her.
"I will also like that." She muttered, smiling from ear to ear. "Make it extra-large." He said to the waiter, who bowed and left.
The pizza was served, and Ralph opened the pizza as the steam from it hit his face. Instead of eating it, he paused and stared at her, while she took a slice, blowing it in an attempt to eat it. She slowly looked up, and they both locked eyes. She avoided his gaze and took a bite of the pizza. "Can I take you home after the meal?" he asked, as she choked on the food and started coughing continuously. He quickly ordered water from the waiter and handed it to her. She took the water from him, gulping it down while she hit her chest with her right hand.
"Thank you," she said, dropping the glass on the table.
"So, can I?" he asked again, and she gulped, gazing at him. "Huh? What are you talking about? I don't understand, do you mean my house or your house?" She asked bluntly, and his face flushed.
"Don't get me wrong; I was just talking about you taking me to your house." He answered.
"Oh, you don't need to; I don't want to stress you; I can go home myself," she replied.
"It's not a problem for me at all, and besides, it's not safe for a beautiful woman like you to walk home alone," he insisted.
"No, maybe another time," she said, and continued eating the food. He grabbed a slice of pizza and started eating it. Lucinda stared at him with one eye, wondering what he was thinking and why he wanted to go to her house.
"I didn't know she would be this sassy. She doesn't want me to know where she lives. I know her address. I can't just go there without her knowledge, but since she is insisting, I shouldn't go, it makes me want to go. By all means, I must follow her home." Ralph thought to himself chewing the food. They finished eating, and he paid the bills as usual. They walked out of the restaurant together and parted ways at the door without uttering a word. Ralph couldn't get his eyes off her and didn't know when he started walking behind her. She paused and looked back at him. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
"Why are you following me?" she asked.
"I just want to see you halfway." He replied.
"OK," she muttered, walking down the street as the streetlights reflected on their bodies; her beautiful skin glowed in the light. Ralph wondered how beautiful she was as he stared at her while walking after her. She came to a halt and jerked her head to look at him.
"I think this is enough. You can go now," she said.
"Okay, take care." He turned back and began walking in the opposite direction, knowing her eyes were still on him. He forced a smile as he turned back to see her still watching him. He disappeared and landed on the roof of a nearby building, looking down at her, but she couldn't see him. She stared at the empty street for a while and continued walking.
Ralph started jumping on the roofs of buildings, following Lucinda, who was walking effortlessly.
Lucinda was getting lazy walking home after an interesting day at work. She started wondering if she could use her wings now, after what happened, and fly home. She closed her eyes and tried to turn invisible when she heard Lucifer's voice inside her head. "Don't fly!" he yelled.
"What's wrong?" she inquired.
"I am here to warn you. Even if you are tired, don't think of flying home; the human doesn't trust you yet, and he is following you." He informed. "Really? I don't believe you," she inquired, looking behind her. "I don't see anyone." She replied. "That's because he is somewhere else staring at you; I don't want to tell you where, so you won't look at him." He stated.
"Okay, thanks for looking out for me again." she beamed. "Be careful," he said.
Lucinda did the one thing she hated the most: she walked home with her legs. Ralph stopped on the roof of the building next to the one she lived in and watched as she walked into the building. "That means she was right; she lives among humans; I feel guilty for doubting her. But that doesn't clear my suspicions either. I will find out what she really is tomorrow," he stated under his breath. Lucinda dashed into the house, tossed her bag on the couch, and made her way into the bedroom, where she saw Medusa lying on her stomach, pressing a mobile phone. "Oh, you are back," Medusa said, still staring at her phone.
"Today was a really challenging day at work for me. Can you believe my wings almost got me in trouble? It refused to go back inside." Lucinda said, and she started taking off her clothes. "Are you for real?" Medusa asked, dropping her phone on the bed.
"Yes, and my boss also followed me home without my knowledge. I wanted to fly home, but my husband stopped me from exposing myself," Lucinda said and sighed. Medusa frowned. "How many times will I tell you to act like a normal Human? I guess the lesson your wings taught wasn't enough," Medusa said.
"It's not my fault; I was tired, and I couldn't walk anymore," Lucinda lamented.
"Humans walk all the time, whether they are tired or not; you are lucky your husband cut in to help you. Go freshen up after that and tell me what you find out about humans." Medusa said nothing and picked up her phone; as soon as her screen lit up, she smiled brightly.
"What are you doing with your phone that's making you blush?" Lucinda inquired.
