GETTING AN APARTMENT
"We are going to rent an apartment." Medusa replied. The taxi stopped in front of them.
They both entered a taxi, and suddenly, when they arrived in front of a very tall building with a restaurant beside it, they got out of the taxi and ambled to the front of the building, glancing at it.
"This place has a vacancy." Medusa said, holding onto the shopping bags as Lucinda also struggled to hold the ones she was carrying.
"How did you know?" Lucinda asked.
"I have my ways," she replied with a smirk. Lucinda tossed her a suspicious look before turning her gaze back to the house and staring at it with her mouth slightly open.
They both entered the building, bumping into some people who were walking out of the building. Their gazes landed on a man who was standing behind a counter; he was the receptionist of the building. He was on a call as they approached him; he was putting on makeup, and Lucinda gazed at the pink nail polish on his fingers. He sighted them.
"I will call you back." He whispered into the phone and dropped it on the desk, staring at Lucinda and Medusa.
"Hello! Hello! Who do we have here?" The man said in a girly tone. Medusa was still trying to figure out if the place was a hotel.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
"What is this place?" Lucinda asked.
"It's a motel, honey; how can I help you?" He asked, extending his hand to shake Medusa's; Medusa shook him, smiling. Lucinda studied the man's movements and behavior, lifting her upper lip in disgust. She wondered why he was acting like
a woman.
"I am Medusa, and this is my sister, Lucinda. We are here to rent an apartment." Medusa grinned.
"I can see you guys are beautiful ladies, Hehe. If you want an apartment, there is only one available, but it's on the rooftop. Do you want it?" He questioned, wiggling his brow at them.
"Yes, let's see it." Medusa said and shrugged her shoulders.
"Follow me," he said, taking out a bunch of keys from his top drawer. He started walking away, swaying his hips as he walked. Lucinda snorted as they followed him into the elevator. They all stood in the elevator, and he pressed the top button. Lucinda moved closer to Medusa whispering something in her ear. "Am I the only one seeing that this man is acting like a lady?" she said in hushed tones. Medusa let out a slight chuckle before responding.
"No, I can see it too. Guys that behave like women are called gays." Medusa replied.
"What?!? So he is not the only man behaving this way? Why are they dressing up like ladies?" Lucinda inquired, confused.
"What are you two whispering about?" he asked, resting his back against the wall of the elevator and narrowing his eyes at him with his hands folded across his chest.
"Nothing; my sister here was just asking if this place is safe and secure." Medusa remarked.
"Our security is tight, and our rooms are gorgeous; that's why the rooms are expensive," he stated, staring at his fingernails. Lucinda quickly looked away, minding her business.
The elevator finally opened, and they all walked out of it, walking through the door of the rooftop.
"Well, the environment is also top-notch." He added spreading his hands in the air, Lucinda noticed the beautiful flowers that were planted on the rooftop and the rose flowers that were used to decorate the entrance of the house. The house looked classy and large.
He opened the door of the house and walked them in, showing them the great interior designs, the expensive furniture, and the well-dressed bed. The lighting of the apartment was beautiful, but it only had one bedroom, a big kitchen, and a bathroom.
"This house is spacious, so you don't need to worry about a thing. You can also enjoy the beautiful view outside." He explained, pointing at the glass window in the living room as they all stood there. Lucinda smiled and ambled over to the window. She placed her hands on the blinds, peering at the outside world.
"I like it...but it's too far; if I really wanted to pee, I would have to pee in the elevator before I could get to my apartment." Medusa said, stroking her chin.
"I understand where you are coming from, but I can assure you that we have arranged for a bathroom downstairs, so that won't be a problem. So, what do you say? Do you still want it?" He inquired. Hoping she would change her mind. "I love it." Lucinda grinned, still looking out the window. Medusa gulped.
"I didn't ask for your opinion." Medusa stated bluntly.
"So, are you guys willing to take it?" he asked.
"Alright, we will take it. How much?" Medusa asked
"It's not expensive for first-timers; it's two hundred thousand dollars for a year and ten thousand dollars a month for maintenance." He replied with his head held high.
"I...it's way too expensive! What do you mean by maintenance? Are you guys literally going to be sending people here to sweep the house and wash the toilet every day?" Medusa asked curiously.
"No, but we also have that service, but it will be three thousand dollars extra." He replied. Medusa marveled at how greedy and confident he was.
"Just pay the money, Medusa; you don't have to argue with everyone." Lucinda said without looking at them. Medusa's face flushed, and she bit her lower lip.
"Excuse me." She said to the man with a nervous laughter and walked over to Lucinda.
"Humans are very cunning; if you let them see that you really like something, they will impose a price on it and refuse to give a discount." Medusa explained. "Oh, oops," Lucinda said, covering her mouth with her hand. Medusa grumbled and turned to look at the man.
"Well, I will pay two hundred and ten thousand dollars, but I also want the service." Medusa stated gazing at him.
