LUCIFER'S HUMAN BRIDE

FIGHTING A DEMON

Lucinda opened her mouth wide in shock; she was about to react to the hug when he disappeared with her. In the blink of an eye, they were no longer in the company, but they were on the street. He quickly pulled away from the hug. He held tightly to the sheath in his hand with a determined look on his face and started walking away from her in the direction of a building that was in the middle of the street; she followed him closely.

He was approaching the entrance of the building when the ground started shaking continuously under their feet, making them unable to stand. They were both struggling to keep their balance when they started hearing heavy footsteps, and the door of the building was burst open by a demon. Immediately, the demon stepped out of the building, which collapsed like an earthquake. A sand fog covered everywhere, making them wave their hands in the air so they could see the demon. The fog finally went away.

Lucinda stood back, staring at the demon with wide eyes, hoping he wouldn't recognize her. The demon started walking toward them. Ralph pushed Lucinda out of the way, making her stand behind him as a flying brick from the house hit him on the chest. The demon caught up to them, directed his gaze at Lucinda, and bowed his head slightly. Lucinda looked away, avoiding his gaze. Ralph didn't pay much attention to what the demon was doing; he was ready to fight him. "My qu.." Before the demon could finish his speech, Lucinda used her telekinesis to shut him up. Ralph started fighting the demon, using his sharp sword to leave marks on the demon's body, and the demon returned the energy by fighting with Ralph like his life depended on it.

Lucinda sighted a stone that had fallen from the house; she went over to it and sat on it, relaxing her shoulders as she was watching them fight. Ralph's eye color was extremely red now, and he was cutting every part of the demon's body, making blood spurt out of the demon's body as he was trying to block Ralph's attacks.

They continued fighting, and Lucinda noticed the demon was becoming weak; he had lost a lot of blood. Lucinda knew he would pass out any moment now, and Ralph would capture him. She rose from the stone, thinking of what to do because she couldn't let that happen, especially now that the demon hadn't exposed her. She bit her lips and raised her feet, hitting the ground with great force.

The ground started cracking at the point where Ralph and the demon were. Ralph swung a hard punch at the demon, and the ground opened, swallowing both of them. The demon fell into the hole in the ground and disappeared, while Lucinda saw Ralph dangling on the edge of the ground, holding onto it with gritted teeth and his face covered in sweat.

He was trying his best not to fall into the pit. Lucinda sensed he needed her help; she thought he could fly; maybe she had overestimated him, or that was his flaw—he wasn't perfect after all. She walked over to him and extended her hand to him. "Why don't you just teleport yourself out?" she inquired.

"I can't because I am stuck." He replied with a frown. He smiled at her and took her hand in his.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

"I am a well-built and heavy man; are you sure you can pull me out?" He asked in a sweet tone. Lucinda's face reddened as his eyes slowly turned green.

"Of course, I am very strong; trust me," she assured him, and she started pulling him out of the cliff. He was astounded by her ability to lift him; she managed to pull him out, and he fell on top of her, their lips almost touching. They both locked eyes, and Lucinda quickly rolled to the other side of the ground, avoiding him, as her heart began to race.

"You are indeed strong," he said, rising to his feet as he wiped the dirt off his clothes and stared at the pit. "I'm curious how that suddenly opened," he muttered as he extended his hand to her; she took his hand and allowed him to assist her in getting up.

"Shall we?" he asked, attempting to hug her again. Lucinda flinched at the thought, she wasn't used to making body contact with other men, and it seemed he didn't see a problem with it, but it was making her feel uneasy. "Can we just hold hands instead?" she asked bluntly.

"Of course," he replied, and took two of her hands this time teleporting them out of there.

"I was this close to catching that demon," he said, his eyes turning red again as he was walking toward his desk.

"He was a lucky demon!" She exclaimed, biting her lower lip. He turned to look at her with an angry face.

"He was indeed lucky, but who knows what caused that earthquake? Because as far as I know, earthquakes don't happen in our city." He said. "...maybe the demon was just too powerful." Lucinda concluded and started coughing as she realized he wasn't buying it. He grabbed a bottle of water from his desk and tossed it to her. She caught it and quickly opened the bottle, drinking up the water. She finished drinking the water and smiled at him. "Thank you." She beamed, tossing the empty bottle into the trash that was close to her desk.

"You should get some rest," he said, heaving a sigh. He walked back to his desk, sat down in front of his computer, and started operating it with a serious look in his eyes. Lucinda admired him for a second but was envious of him because she couldn't operate a computer. Her breath hardened, and suddenly she heard a voice in her head. "My wife, are you okay?" Lucifer inquired.

"Yes! Thank you for saving me in that dark hole; I nearly got busted." She said heaving a sigh of relief.
