Chapter 27 A Tale of Clichés
Chapter 27 A Tale of Clichés
"Vroom—"
The sound of the throttle roaring, the sound of two rapid flashes, the incandescent lights standing
dutifully to light the way ahead, everything here formed a wonderful picture that was etched in Eva's
mind for a long time.
She hadn't felt this happy since she returned home.
"Thank you." Eva took off her helmet, tossed her long hair, and gave a dashing glance at Caleb.
Even though she lost the game, she had fun and for that she must thank Caleb.
"Let's go, it's late." Caleb instantly switched into an elite model, as if the person who was just riding
recklessly on the racing motor did not exist.
Eva teased him with a smile, "I didn't expect that you can ride a motorbike!"
"You lost, don't go back on your words." Caleb said as he looked sideways at Eva.
He stared at Eva, and his voice was husky, which was pleasant to ears. Eva said with a proud voice,
patting her chest, "Don't worry, I definitely won't go back on my words! I can do anything you want me
to do, as long as it's not killing people."
"There's no rush, I'll keep this wish for now." Caleb was surprised to see such a lively Eva, who kept
smiling. She was still the same, she had just grown up and learned to hide herself, and when she was
really happy, she would show her childishness.
"How did you know there was a race track here? And it must cost a lot of money to have them turn on
the lights in the middle of the night, right?" After having fun, Eva had to face a very serious problem,
and that was the problem of money.
"It is Nathan's race track. I don't know the price." Caleb replied.
"Gosh, rich people!" Eva gritted her teeth as she listened to his words.
She grew up in a small village. After she returned to the Sommers family, she thought that the
Sommers family was already very powerful, living in a big house and having a car to get around, but
only after she came into contact with Caleb did she understand what life was like for the real gentry.
Even if the Sommers family doted on Sheila so much, they would not buy a race rack just because she
liked it. Usually, it made no profit, but was a place for these rich men to have fun in their leisure time.
"You can join in." Caleb said in a serious manner.
Eva smiled, "No, I'm better suited to being the poor exploited class."
It was already late at night when the two of them returned to Rosenfeld Hill. After this incident, Eva was
not so restrained in front of Caleb, and the atmosphere between the two of them was getting more and
more cordial. Especially when Caleb looked at Eva with his starry eyes, Eva always felt like she was
going to drown there.
As Caleb had just parked the car, Eva ran out of the car in a hurry, "I am gonna have a rest, good
night."
Caleb looked at Eva who ran into the villa in a panic, smiling.
Sheila was taken by Brody to meet his parents yesterday, so she didn't know what happened at the
Sommers'. She couldn't wait to call Morgan in the car in the morning to ask him how he was doing
yesterday, but what she didn't expect was a barrage of questions.
"That sugar daddy you mentioned is Caleb Livingstone, the brother?" Morgan went to the point.
"What? How can it be him! Dad, did my sister lie to you? That man was very lewd in the set." Sheila
only panicked for a second before quickly calming down and denying that that person was Caleb,
incidentally blaming Eva.
Morgan held back his anger hearing his daughter's contrived tone, so he could only explain, "Mr. Caleb
Livingston did come to our house."
"What? How can that be! Did you leave him at home for dinner then?" Sheila was really surprised that
Caleb would actually go back with Eva. How could they be that kind of relationship! It must be Eva, that
slut, who had pestered Caleb. What a shameless woman!
"No, your untalented sister took him away. How come I have such a brainless daughter like her!"
Morgan was still very angry when he thought of that scene last night. Eva had not helped him to keep
Caleb staying for a meal, she was really stupid!
"Dad, don't be angry, you still have me." Sheila relieved Morgan.
"That's right, I still have you, my sweet daughter." Morgan was cheered up by her words, "When will
you come back? I will have the maid to make you some pear juice, so than you can drink it when you
get home."
"I'll be home early today if my sister does her job well." Sheila said sweetly.
"Okay, I will wait for you, if Eva doesn't do her job well and therefore causes you come home late, just
get her out of the set. Shame on her." Morgan was dissatisfied with Eva.
The director urged her before she hung up the phone and went to change her clothes and put on her
makeup.
Morgan held different attitudes towards the two sisters, but Eva was his biological one, while Sheila
was not.
In fact, this was a very clichéd story, when Penelope Gordon and Gwendolyn Wright gave birth in a
hospital at the same time, and by mistake the two children were exchanged, and this mistake was
made more than ten years ago.
When Eva returned to the Sommers family, many things had already been decided and there was no
way to change them, except that in Morgan and Penelope's hearts, Eva was far less important than
Sheila. When she was in her adolescence, Eva wondered why and wanted to gain her parents'
attention, but after the incident five years ago, she completely gave up.
The reason was irrelevant to her, so let the mystery remain a mystery.
Eva had a fight with Morgan last night and went racing, so she went to sleep late. When she came to
the set in the morning, she was accused by the make-up artist that her skin was in a bad state, and that
even if she had naturally good skin, she should've taken better care of it.
Last night, he didn't see Eva. Today, William woke up early and watched over Eva's bedside,
demanding to come to the set with Eva, and finally Eva and Caleb compromised and brought William
and a nanny to the set.
After Eva changed into her costume, William stared at her for a long time before he recognized her.
Now hearing what the make-up artist said about Eva, he shielded her directly in front of
her.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
