Chapter 18
Easton refused to believe in Madelyn. He assumed she had her reasons. Clutching her shoulders, he said with much patience and insistence, “Maddie, tell me the truth. You know I’ll help.”
Madelyn was frustrated by his doggedness. She peered into his guilty eyes with a look of warning. “I’ll repeat myself once more. Let go of me!”
His breathing became uneven, and he tightened his grip on her shoulders.
Taking a deep breath, he updated her, “I’ve made the necessary arrangements abroad. Once you get a divorce with Uncle Andrew, we can immediately leave the country.”
At that moment, he seemed to have forgotten about her icy attitude during their phone calls. He stubbornly assumed that Andrew had threatened her.
Meanwhile, David instantly reported to Andrew when Madelyn left Serenity Villa to meet with Easton.
At that moment, Andrew was watching them from the window of the study. He seethed at the sight of Easton hugging Madelyn at the villa entrance.
“Rowan!”
Rowan replied with respect, “Yes, Mr. Miller.”
“Get them up here!” Andrew sounded like he was about to commit murder.
In the end, Madelyn still lied to him. She must have been nice to him so that she could lower his guard as she prepared to move abroad.
Rowan too was angry. When David told them that Easton had shown up at Serenity Villa, Rowan instantly realized that Madelyn had been acting.
Rowan turned around to leave, but Andrew suddenly stopped him. “Wait a minute.”
Confused, Rowan joined Andrew at the window just in time to see Madelyn continuously slapping Easton on the face.
As if that weren’t enough, she kicked Easton in the crotch. The poor guy’s face was flushed in pain, but he was too embarrassed to hold his crotch.
Rowan looked at Andrew. Why hadn’t he realized Madelyn’s violent tendencies
before? But that explained it. If she weren’t violent, she wouldn’t have been capable of hurting Andrew.

Rowan could only hope that Madelyn only lashed out at outsiders from now on.
“Call Easton’s staff to the villa and bring him to the men’s health center at the hospital,” Andrew gave out instructions in a cheerful tone.
Speechless, Rowan believed that Andrew was destined to be with a woman like Madelyn.
Easton glared at Madelyn with a hardened expression at the entrance. Her attitude toward him did not change even when they were alone with each other.
It finally hit him that she hadn’t been acting, be it over their calls or at the Miller residence. She truly wanted to draw a line between them. Still dissatisfied, he demanded to know, “Are you really breaking up with me?”
“Was there anything between us in the first place?” Madelyn shot him a funny look. Oh, what a fraud! How could he play the victim after cheating on her? That was ridiculous!
She couldn’t believe that she had fallen in love with a wretched man like Easton in her past life.
Meanwhile, Easton grimaced in pain. His scowl gave Madelyn satisfaction. She went straight to the point. “Spit it out. When did you get together with Elena?”
If she was correct, Easton and Elena probably started seeing each other half a year ago at Elena’s birthday party. She thought, “How dare he act all loyal and affectionate?”
Guilt crossed Easton’s face at Madelyn’s sudden mention of Elena. She had brought up Elena in their call previously too. Had she found some clues?
In his mind, he spitefully cursed Elena for being dumb. He assumed that Elena must have given their relationship away.
Obvesing the guilt written across his face, she snorted. “Easton Miller, why did it take me so long to realize how disgusting you really are? Not only did you flirt with me- your aunt–in–law–but you also got on with my sister.”
Her tone was filled with contempt.
Easton’s lips pursed into a thin line as his chest rose and fell. How did Madelyn learn about his affair with Elena? They had been so discreet that even Caleb and Amelia were kept in the dark.
Madelyn smirked, refusing to engage further with him. She believed that he would

When she was about to leave, Easton asked, “Have you thought of what will happen. after you break up with me? Is there anyone else in the Miller family who’ll protect you?”
“Don’t worry about that.”
They turned toward the entrance as Andrew’s chilling voice echoed through the air. His silhouette, even in the dim light, exuded regal confidence. He carried himself like a leader who commanded respect.
Easton huffed and puffed when he spitefully met Andrew’s eyes. They exchanged looks in silence.
Madelyn jogged over to Andrew and grabbed his arm. Shedding off her indifference, she grumbled, “Darling, he insisted on meeting me. If I didn’t, he threatened to look for you.”
Easton was speechless. Did Madelyn just shift the blame to him? How petty of her!
As expected, Andrew scowled at him. “Easton, you’re getting bolder by the day. How dare you threaten your aunt–in–law?”
The mention of aunt–in–law irked Easton, who shot daggers at Madelyn. However, she continued clinging to Andrew without paying Easton any attention.
Easton was about to approach her, but his driver showed up at that moment. “Mr. Easton, what’s wrong? Why did you ask to go to the men’s health center? Are you seeing Dr. Neeson again this time?”
The air was filled with awkwardness. Easton glowered at the driver, who choked on fear before stealing a glance at Andrew.
Face reddened, Easton growled, “What are you staring at?

Madelyn watched as Easton stumbled away. She gleefully teased, “Darling, was that your doing?”
Only Andrew was petty enough to inform Easton’s driver to bring Easton to the men health’s clinic.
Wait a minute. Did the driver ask about Dr. Neeson at the men’s health center? Did that mean Easton frequented the men’s health center? But for what issue?
Andrew dotingly pinched the tip of her nose. “So? Have you taken your revenge?” Although he was clueless about the conflict between Easton and Madelyn, he

started to believe what she had said at the Miller residence–that Easton was having an affair with Elena.
Regardless of the reason Madelyn decided to get back with him, he’d welcome her with open arms all the same.
She scoffed. “That’s not enough!”
He carried her into the villa in surprise. “Do you care about Easton that much?”
He was referring to Easton and Elena’s affair. Clearly, he assumed that Madelyn wanted to get back at Easton for cheating with Elena.
She knew what was on Andrew’s mind. Shaking her head, she clarified, “No, it’s not about the affair. Easton and Elena don’t deserve my attention!”
What else could irk her, if not Easton and Elena’s affair?
Andrew cast a deep look at her. Suddenly, he felt that he did not know his wife that well after all.
“Tell me all about it, and I’ll avenge you.”
Madelyn looked into his warm, tender eyes. Memories of the night by the cliff flashed across her mind. She snuggled in his arms, seeking solace.
Feeling Madelyn’s body trembling in his embrace, he wondered, “What exactly is she scared of?”
