Chapter 97
Dominick concealed all signs of emotion in his eyes, sitting expressionless on the sofa, then emptied his glass in one gulp.
Ethan’s expression faltered slightly, sensing Dominick’s unusual demeanor.
“What’s wrong? Did you meet Layla?” Ethan inquired.
Dominick avoided the question, unwilling to discuss the matter further..
“When Scott appeared before Emil late at night, Emil didn’t seem surprised. Moreover, his visit to Lola’s room was surely deliberate. However, upon seeing Scott, he seemed to quickly change his focus. It appears that his Initial intention wasn’t Lola but Scott,” Dominick analyzed.
Ethan paused for a moment. “Scott’s room is next to his. Why did he need to go there?”
Dominick couldn’t fathom it either, puzzled by Emil’s peculiar behavior towards Scott.
“I don’t understand why Emil would go to such lengths. He could have directly communicated his intentions to Scott. Instead, he chose this method. What’s the point? It’s as if he’s sending mixed signals, implying that while he knew Scott would come to him, he didn’t necessarily want to see him,” Ethan mused.
“It’s unusual for men to behave this way towards each other. It’s baffling,” he added.
“Hold on a moment,” Dominick interjected, a glint of surprise flickering in his usually composed gaze.
“Perhaps Emil’s original purpose for going out wasn’t Lola but Scott.
“He’s just testing the waters.”
Ethan tensed up, incredulously staring at Dominick.
Dominick continued, “When Emil left his room, despite appearing to casually observe his surroundings, his objective was clear. He didn’t make any wrong turn and found Lola’s residence directly.
“He must have known where Lola lived, but despite this knowledge, he deliberately took his time, either foolishly or intentionally,” Dominick analyzed.
“He was waiting for Scott. However, when Scott appeared, Emil didn’t seem pleased and even said some irrelevant things,” he added.
“Therefore, he’s testing Scott to see if he cares about Lola. It’s evident that he already knows the answer,” Dominick concluded.
Perplexed, Ethan looked at Dominick. “I understand each word you’re saying, but when you string them together, I’m lost. What does it all
mean?
“What could Emil’s motive be for testing Scott? Could it be that foreigners have a different way of thinking?” Ethan speculated.
Dominick narrowed his eyes slightly, contemplating for a moment before speaking.
“The only explanation is that Emil likes
Scott”
Ethan was utterly shocked by Dominick’s speculation!
“What are you saying? Say that again. You can’t be serious. Emil is a man, and so is Scott. How is that possible?” Ethan protested.
Dominick hadn’t expected to arrive at such a conclusion, but everything they observed pointed in that direction.
“If you think I’m wrong, do you have a more plausible explanation?” Dominick challenged.
Ethan hesitated, unable to come up with an alternative explanation.
“…I can’t think of one, but I find it hard to believe. Emil is a prince, and they’ve never even met before. Why would he develop feelings for Scott?” Ethan’s mind was full of doubts, finding today’s revelations truly eye–opening.
“I don’t know.
“His appearance was sudden, but it was a straightforward surprise. Whether there were any private encounters, you can’t say for sure,” Dominick replied.
Ethan closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, trying to accept this revelation.
“If this is true, then in Emil’s perception, does he see Layla as a rival for Scott’s affections?
“When Scott was speaking just now, Emil’s expression… It was displeasing. Scott clearly favored Layla, so will Emil harm Layla?” Ethan voiced
his concerns.
Dominick’s expression darkened suddenly.
“This is bad!”
Without explaining further, he swiftly stood up and rushed out, moving so fast that Ethan couldn’t even ask what was happening.
“Hey! Wait for me!”
Lola tossed and turned in bed.
She couldn’t sleep.
There was a tightness in her chest, making her uncomfortable all over.
Her words just now were entirely rational, but what about her emotions?
Did she really want Dominick never to appear again?
Just thinking about it made her heart inexplicably tighten.
Dominick treated her so well, but Lola couldn’t bear his reckless kindness towards her.
He was such a towering figure, willing to sacrifice his reputation for her. How could she repay such a debt?
Lola rolled over, feeling a sense of desolation in the dark which was evident in her gaze.
Suddenly, there was a strange rustling sound outside the window, causing Lola’s scattered thoughts to freeze as she looked towards the source of the noise.
The sound outside was similar to the rustling of leaves in the wind, but there was no wind blowing at alll
Lola’s back stiffened gradually as she stared fixedly at the window, a sense of foreboding creeping in. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
She lived on the third floor, a considerable height from the ground, but there was a balcony on the second floor. If someone wanted to come
up from there, it wouldn’t be difficult.

Lola became alert, slowly shifting her body, attempting to quickly close and lock the window with the fastest speed.
She had opened the windows earlier because she felt suffocated, but she never expected it would bring danger.
Suddenly, there was silence outside again. Could it be that she was just being paranoid?
Lola couldn’t be sure, cautiously getting up.
Just when she thought she might be overreacting, a dark shadow flashed outside the window. Before Lola could see clearly what it was, numerous white petals poured in!
Lola was stunned.
In the moonlight, those white petals seemed to float towards her like a dream.
“Be careful!”
A sudden force on her arm pulled her overl
Lola collided with the warm and solid chest of a man. Before she could react, the man already carried her outside the room.
Lola looked up in shock and saw Dominick’s cold and alert eyes, as well as his tight jawline.
“Mr.
Sinclair? Why are you here?” Lola was completely confused, forgetting for a moment that she was still in Dominick’s arms.
The petals were not affected by the wind and fell to the ground not far away from them.
Lola didn’t understand what was going on, and was about to ask when the petals that fell on the ground suddenly began to dissipate, and finally turned into powder.
