Love’s Final Reveal

Chapter 35

est day

Dominick had initially planned to leave the island the next

He was tired.

Dominick wanted to just lay quietly in the room that still carried Lola’s scent.

When a breeze blew in through the window, carrying the fragrance of the gardenia on the windowsill, it momentarily soothed him.

Dominick mused, ‘Lola really has no intention of coming back, she doesn’t even want her flowers. But that’s Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

‘s to be expected. Why would Lola dwell on the past? To her, the past only holds pain, neglect and abuse.”

When Henry came back, he had finally uncovered the truth about what happened two years ago.

Unexpectedly, he brought another piece of bad news.

Henry said, “Mr. Frank Sinclair has fallen ill because of the company’s troubles and is barely hanging on.”

Dominick originally had no feelings for such a family anymore.

But, since Frank was his grandfather by blood, Dominick rushed back as soon as he heard the news.

As soon as he stepped into the courtyard, Dominick sensed that something was off

Everything seemed normal. The servants were busy with their chores, and the butler who always followed Frank was tending to the flowers.

Dominick realized something and walked into the living room with a grim expression

Sure enough, Frank was not the picture of a man barely hanging on. Instead, he sat on the sofa with a steely glare, sipping his coffee.

“Grandpa, didn’t Henry say you were ill?” Dominick sensed something was amiss but still gave Frank the benefit of the doubt, not being too direct.

Frank leisurely sipped his coffee before looking up at Dominick. “You and Jessica have been together for so long. Don’t you have any plan of marrying

her?”

Dominick thought, Just as I expected. The Moore family must have visited. Frank made an excuse that he was sick for fear of me knowing we were going to discuss this and not returning.”

His face remained expressionless as he replied, “Since you’ve resorted to deceiving me to come back, you must’ve guessed that I have no intention of marrying her, Grandpa.”

Upon hearing this, Frank’s expression darkened instantly, and he slammed his coffee cup onto the table.

He exclaimed, “Dominick! Don’t be ridiculous!

“Haven’t you always been fond of Jessica? We’ve seen how you’ve treated her for two years, and now you’re saying you won’t marry her? What do you mean by that?!”

Frank was always Impatient, and Dominick had anticipated this reaction.

Without showing any sign of being moved, Dominick coldly said, “My care for her was merely fulfilling Landon’s last request to me.”

He felt it was time to put an end to this matter.

Dominick stated, “I will not marry Jessica, under any circumstances, especially since I have a wife.”

Frank was visibly furious as he said through gritted teeth, “Your wife? Ha, your capable wife is about to ruin our family!

“Dominick, I don’t care about your situation. You must marry Jessica! The union between the Sinclair family and the Moore family will easily deal with the Horizon Group!”

He twirled his cane and narrowed his eyes at Dominick. “Or is it that you have a soft spot for Lola and can’t bear in go against her?”

Of course, he did.

Dominick indeed felt guilty. He couldn’t bear to harm Lola. That was one reason. And the second reason was that he didn’t want to marry Jessica because he didn’t love her.

“It doesn’t matter. What matters is the outcome, and I will not marry Jessica.” Dominick’s tone was soft but resolute.

With that, he stood up and was about to turn to leave.

This was the first time Dominick had so vehemently opposed Frank.

The always compliant Dominick was rebelling because of a woman, suggesting to Frank that Lola was indeed a disaster for the Sinclair family.

At least, that was what Frank believed.

As anger burned through his rationality inch by inch, his grip on the cane tightened before he lifted it and slammed it down hard on the floor.

Then, a loud thud echoed, making it clear how furious Frank was at that moment.

“Stop right there!” His deep voice couldn’t hide his rage. “Lola has already started making moves against the Sinclair and Moore families. I could overlook your intention to conceal this, but you must marry Jessica!”

Frank continued, “I don’t care whether you have a wife or not, nor whether you like it or not. You must understand your role. Your marriage is destined to be a sacrifice for the family!”

He was determined as he could not stand by and watch the Sinclair family slowly perish like the Moore family.

Frank added, “Besides, you are the CEO of the Sinclair Group. The company is facing a crisis and is about to go bankrupt. Aren’t you the least bit concerned? Are you just going to let Lola do as she pleases?!”

He tried to use this reasoning to make Dominick reconsider.

Dominick, with his back to Frank, had his eyes filled with sarcasm.

The downfall of such a cold and ruthless shell seemed hardly regrettable to Dominick.

Upon seeing no response from him, Frank continued to threaten and persuade, “You’re in the CEO’s position now, enjoying honors and treatments others can’t imagine. You should take responsibility for this company!

“The company’s failure won’t do you any good! If the Sinclair family falls, your status will nosedive, becoming a nobody!

“Do you truly not care about any of this? Wealth, power, prestige, do you really want none of it?”

Dominick did want them.

se, he did. Otherwise, how could he win the how exceptional Lola back?

Of course,

But Dominick’s power was not limited to just these.

He said, “Grandpa, no need to say more. My mind is made up. I will not marry Jessica. If you wish to talk about something else, I’m willing to stay and chat. But if you insist on dwelling on this, thep I will get going.”

Frank could no longer maintain the last bit of composure he had. His face darkened ominously, and his hand trembled with rage as he gripped the cane.

He then raised his hand and forcefully threw the cane

The cane arced through the air, landing precisely on Dominick’s back.

The dull thud of the cane was followed by a pain that Dominick felt almost as if it was tearing through his flesh. He dightly furrowed his brows and continued to walk away without waiting for the

pain to subside.

Dominick’s body bore countless wounds, the most serious being the day Lola shot him in the stomach.

Having taken care of her these past few days, he hadn’t been to the hospital for a wound dressing, and the wound had become severely infected. Moreover, Frank’s cane was tipped with iron. If wielded with great force, it could be lethal

As the pain overwhelmed him, Dominick’s tall figure looked utterly exhausted.

The pain seemed to gradually fade as his vision blurred more and more.

Eventually, Dominick lost consciousness, and he blacked out at the entrance of Sinclair Manor.

“Mr. Sinclair! Mr. Frank Sinclairt Mr. Sinclair has fainted!”

The Sinclair family’s servants were in a panic, but Frank remained calm, seemingly having anticipated this. He just shorted with a hint of satisfaction in

his eyes.

This was just as he had intended.

“For health reasons, Dominick is unable to manage the Sinclair Group. His father will take over the affairs.”
