Chapter 96

Alan salid pleasantly, “Be my guest”

Natasha offered, “I can go with you.”

No, you should stay. You shouldn’t be inhaling second–hand smoke anyway, what with your health and all,” Samuel said coolly as he got up to leave

Natasha glanced in Shelmaine’s direction to make sure she wasn’t planning to go out after Samuel. To her relief, Shelmaine remained at her table and did not look inclined to leave for a while yet.

Samuel found a quiet spot and hit acigarette. The air was chilly, and the evening breeze was picking up. He wore only a shirt that did little to shield him from the elements, and he cursed softly when the lighter refused to work. He stalked back to the hotel to ask for a lighter from the waiting staff

After smoking half a cigarette, he dialed Shelmaine’s number. He waited what felt like ages for her to answer, and when she did, she sounded courteous but distant. “Hello? Is everything all right?”

He hadn’t heard her speak so softly to him in a long while. “How’s the shrimp Julien peeled for you?”Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

She sounded impatient this time when she retorted, “Well, I do like them. I just didn’t have anyone to peel them for me before, and now that I do, I can enjoy them to the fullest. What’s it to you?”

“What if I peeled them for you?” he asked.

Aren’t you tired of this nonsense?” she snapped.

“It isn’t nonsense to me”

She lowered her voice as she hissed, “Watch yourself, Samuel. Your fiancée is here too.”

He ignored this and said in a near–commanding tone, “Come out.” When Shelmaine made no reply, he added a shade tersely, “You saw which way I went just now, Come out.1 need to talk to you.”

“We have nothing to talk about,” Shelmaine said icily, refusing to rise to his bait. “I’m not so shameless as to be caught seeking you out. We’re over, remember? We

Samuel cut her oft gravely, “Would you rather I drag you out?”

“Samuel” she ground out warningly. “Stop Why are you doing this?”

He hummed as if in thought, “What if I told you I was jealous of Julien after seeing how sweet you guys are together? I’ll give you a minute to come out. If you don’t, I’ll go in and drag your out right after I finish my smoke.”

He was being unreasonable and tyrannical

Not wanting him to make good on his threat, Shelmaine showed up outside about ten seconds before a minute was up.

Samuel chucked the cigarette butt into the trash can beside him and met her halfway. Without another word, he grabbed her wrist and led her away from the hotel. She dared not strele or cry out, lest she caused a scene

Samuel was kissing her.

He had pinned her hand against the wall to keep her in place, and his free hand cupped her nape. She could not budge as she felt his warm breath on hers demanding as he prodded her lips open and slid his tongue in.

He kissed her like he had gone mad. Her heart thundered beneath her ribcage, and out of instinct, she bit him.

The taste of copper filled their mouths, but it only deterred Samuel for a second before he grabbed her jaw and kissed her again.

Shelmaine heard people walking by their comer. Terror seized her as her heart leaped to her throat.

After a long moment, Samwel did not stop. Instead, he brazenly trailed kisses down her neck and slid his hand under her clothes.

Abad feeling came over Shelmaine as she wamed in a low whisper, “I will call the cops on you if you keep this up”

His mouth preoccupied, Samuel drawled semi–incoherently, “Go right ahead.”
