Chapter 31
Chapter 31
Shelmine had reached a point where anything she ate made her vomit.
She knew that continuing like this would eventually lead to serious problems, so she didn’t hesitate to grab her phone and quickly s
kly went to a nearby hospital for an injection. After assessing her condition, the doctor wrote a prescription and said, “This situation isn’t sustainable. You should come to the hospital for a check–up tomorrow. You might need to get some medication to help maintain the pregnancy. We’ll start with a few IV drips to replenish your nutrients for now.”
He then folyadded, “Be sure to come back for an examination tomorrow. Don’t delay”
Shelmaine’s previous prenatal check–up had been fine, though she had been experiencing severe morning sickness
The doctor had explained that severe morning sickness in early pregnancy was not uncommon, and everyone’s situation was different.
It was already very late when Shelmaine left the hospital.
Isabelle called, sounding a bit disappointed as shesaid, “Natasha’s been found. She’s fine. Seriously, if she wants to die, she could at least choose a more remote place. She’s always causing trouble, yet nothing ever happens to her!
“Shelly, why do thear car noises? Are you out?”
“Yes, I was a bit hungry, so I went out to get a late–night snack.” Shelmaine’s voice was low, and she couldn’t help but ask, “What about Samuel?”
“Samuel? Of course he went to take care of Natasha”
“Okay.” Shelmaine’s chest felt inexplicably heavy, and her eyes were hot with unshed tears. She blinked hard to hold them back, but her choked voice betrayed her emotions She said, “It’s good that she’s okay I’ll head home after I get what I need.”
After ending the call, Shelmaine felt her legs go weak.
She slowly squatted by the roadside and hugged her arms, feeling more powerless than ever. Her chest ached, and she lacked the strength to even stand u
Some passersby stopped to ask she needed any help, but Shelmaine shook her head and thanked them, “Thank you, but I’m just tired from walking. I just need to rest “Are you sure you don’t need help? You don’t look well”
“It’s nothing. It’s just low blood sugar.”
After a brief chat, one of the concerned passersby left once they were assured that Shelmaine was okay. Then, Shelmaine called a cab to go home.
The next day, Shelmine didn’t go to the studio because Jennifer had sent a message saying that there had been trouble at the studio again.
Apparently, a crowd had gathered outside the studio door in the morning, and they were there to target Shelmaine
Jennifer had received a message from Dora about it and immediately called Shelmaine to advise her to not go to the studio.
It was clear that this was related to Natasha.
Shelmaine felt apologetic and said to Jennifer, “I’m sorry for causing more trouble. Is Dora okay?”
“She’s fine, just shaken. They didn’t trouble Dora, but I’ve already reported it to the police. Please avoid coming to the studio today
“Okay. Sorry.” Shelmalne apologized again.
Jennifer hesitated and asked with a hint of concern, “Have you offended someone?”
Shelmaine found it hard to explain. She was also unsure of how to address it since it was a rather embarrassing situation. She simply said, “I’m sorry_”
“Is it Mrs. Westwood again? Didn’t that issue get resolved already? Why is it resurfacing?” Jennifer asked.
“It’s not Mrs Westwood. It’s Nashashemanebit her lip. “Natasha is my ex–husband’s current lancée. She’s worried that I might get back together with my ex–husband and is very wary of mr ”
