Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 447
Chapter 447 He Had Not Become Her Redemption Clarissa looked out the window, her eyes red.
She was the wronged and aggrieved one. Her mother was dead, and someone was threatening her,
but she was also the one being mocked. What had she done to deserve this?
Perhaps Damien‘s heart softened at her display of weakness.
“Was Chanel the one who recommended you to get a job at the University of Florin?” He remembered
that Clarissa had mentioned she‘d been recommended by someone.
“Yeah.”
“Where should we eat?” he asked. “I don‘t know yet. If you‘re okay with it, I‘ll let her know.” She pulled Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
her phone out to send Chanel a text.
He was right; she was acting just like a pimp. “I haven‘t decided whether to go yet. You can ask her
where we‘re eating first.” Damien‘s tone was gentler than before.
Clarissa: (I came to Eden Investment Corporation to sign the contract today and ran into Damien. He
wants to know where we should meet.)
When Chanel received this message, she was in the middle of a lecture. She had placed her phone
face–up on her desk so she could check the time, and it was on silent mode. Normally, lecturers
weren‘t allowed to make or take calls and messages during class. But when she saw this message, her
mind went blank.
In that instant, she lost the ability to speak
Damien had never agreed to any of her requests in the past. This time, he was actually asking where
they should meet. She knew that it was all due to Clarissa.
She couldn‘t care less, though. Her hands trembled as she said to her students, “You all read for a
while.”
Chanel: [Ask him if he‘s okay to meet at Rainforest. You have to be there as well, okay? You have to!]
She still remembered how, back at Rale University, Damien had said that he would never meet her on
his own anymore.
She had quite the obsession with him.
She didn’t care who he liked, or who he was with. All she wanted was to be able to see him, for him to
not be someone completely unrelated to her. He was the only consolation she had during her insecure
high school days. As for Clarissa, Chanel didn‘t care whether she was with Damien or Caleb, She only
knew that as long as Clarissa was at the University of Florin, Damien would come.
Three years ago, when she invited Clarissa to join the University of Florin, she knew this day
would eventually come.
After all, Clarissa was the only woman who truly had a relationship with Damien, albeit a complicated
one. They even had a son together. Chanel was sure that wherever Clarissa was, Damien would show
up.
Chanel was nothing but a lowly secret admirer. She didn‘t ask for much; she would be happy to just see
and speak to Damien.
She could still remember vividly how he had looked during high school, dressed in a stunning black
shirt
Chanel hadn‘t grown up in an affluent family. She had always been insecure, and Damien‘s presence
was like a light in the darkness.
She had thrown herself into following in his footsteps and trying to catch up with him, but to no avail.
The reality was harsh, and happily–ever-afters only existed in fairy tales. Damien hadn‘t become her
redemption; he had become someone else‘s.
Damien was a sharp person. He could read everyone like they were open books, and he knew very
well how Chanel felt. Yet he hadn‘t said anything, and instead ignored her completely.
After replying to Clarissa‘s message, Chanel continued with her lecture, but her voice was tremulous.
Clarissa frowned at Chanel‘s message. ‘Does she have social anxiety? Why do I need to be there
when she‘s meeting an old classmate?’
“Is there a problem?” Damien asked when he saw her frown. “Chanel wants to know whether you’re
okay to meet at Rainforest. Also...” she trailed off.
