Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 407
.Chapter 407 You Are A Pretty Lady
Two months passed in the blink of an eye. Soon, Clarissa had officially graduated.
In July, Clarissa arrived at Florin.
As an employee recommended by the staff in the university, Clarissa was anointed directly as an
assistant lecturer. But with that title, she couldn’t supervise postgraduate students as the actual job
scope of an assistant lecturer was leading lectures only. Thus, Prof. Franklin, the lecturer Clarissa
worked under, gave Clarissa the power to supervise postgraduate students under her name.
Technically, that made Clarissa a professor who was responsible for teaching undergraduates and
postgraduates who were currently studying in the faculty of finance.
Since Clarissa was an employee, the school had assigned an apartment unit for Clarissa. It was a
small apartment with two bedrooms and a living room.
The moment she moved in, she cleaned the entire house and headed to the supermarket to shop for
some groceries.
She came back home by taxi. Since it was the holidays, cars from outside couldn’t enter the school
grounds without a car pass.
Left with no choice, Clarissa got out of the car at the school entrance with bags of groceries in her
hand.
Right now, Clarissa wasn’t wearing her glasses. Clad in a white shirt and a long brown dress, her attire
accentuated her thin waistline and silky hair. Her hair was so long that it had reached her lower back.
Under the warm sun, her beauty became the center of attention.
Clarissa thought about leaving some of her groceries at the guardhouse and carrying them one by one
back to her unit.
The moment she bent down, her long hair fell to her shoulders. The sight of her delicate waistline and
impeccable features was like a picturesque oil painting, which caught a young man’s attention from
afar.
When Clarissa stood up and straightened her back, she informed the guards, “Sir, I don’t think I can
carry all these back in one go. Is it okay if I leave some of my things here while I walk back? I’ll come
back again after a few minutes.”
Just as the guard was nodding in approval, he heard someone approaching them. He turned to the
stranger. “Yes?”
Clarissa turned around as well, and saw a young and tall man on a mountain bike. Dressed in blue
basketball pants, he had his shirt draped on one side of his shoulder. His tanned skin was gilded with Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
sweat shimmering under the hot sun. Overall, he looked like an attractive and athletic young man.
He looked at Clarissa and asked, “I’m a finance student here. Do you want me to help you get your
things back to your dorm?”
He was about to head inside the university when he saw Clarissa. He figured she might need some
help to carry all her groceries back.
“Are you sure?” Clarissa appraised his bike with a doubtful expression.
“Yeah, I’m sure.” Then, he reached for a net from his pocket, put his basketball inside, and hung it on
one of the handles. Then, he carried most of her groceries on his back. While riding the bike, Clarissa
followed from behind slowly with two buckets in her hand as they headed inside the university.
“Which dorm do you live in?” he asked.
“Marble Garden.”
With a surprised look, he asked, “Do your relatives live there?”
“I live there.”
“You live there?” He turned to look at Clarissa. “Are you an assistant lecturer?”
Clarissa smiled. “Yeah, something like that. You’re really good with words.”
“How am I good with words?” The young man tilted his head in confusion.
Clarissa didn’t expose herself. Normally, a person with a postgraduate certification could only be
qualified to work as an assistant lecturer. In other words, she still looked like a 25-year-old woman to
him. Every woman would’ve relished that comment. After all, it was every woman’s dream to look
younger than their actual age.
“You’re a student from the faculty of finance, right? Why aren’t you home during the summer break?
Did you come back early?” Clarissa asked.
“I just got a scholarship to opt for postgraduate study here. I was playing basketball at the University of
Conrad just now. I have a match when the semester starts.”
“Oh, I see. You’re a postgraduate student. What’s your major?”
“Investment banking.”
“Oh, I see. You’re Prof. Mclaurant’s student.” Clarissa thought, ‘He seems like a bright young man. I’ll
make sure to pay attention to his progress if he becomes one of my students.’
“Do you know Prof. Mclaurant?” He looked surprised.
“Everyone knows Prof. Mclaurant! He has a high reputation for teaching investment courses. You’re
lucky to have him as your lecturer.”
Prof. Mclaurant was one of the lecturers who recommended Clarissa to work as an assistant lecturer
here. Of course, she knew who he was.
“Oh… I thought you’re new here,” he admitted honestly.
“By the way, what’s your name?”
“I’m Caleb. Caleb Mckenny.”
“Okay. I’ll remember your name.” Clarissa sounded like a teacher talking to a student.
Little did she know that Caleb was helping her out of romantic interest.
Finally, they arrived at a small apartment building.
Marble Garden was a three-story apartment building with no lift services.
Being a young woman, Clarissa was assigned the third floor. In other words, she had to carry all her
shopping upstairs.
Caleb looked at Clarissa. “I don’t think you can carry everything up by yourself. Let me help you.”
“Thank you.”
She wanted to reassure him that she would put in a good word for him to Prof. Mclaurant, but in the
end, she swallowed her words.
After carrying all the stuff upstairs, he even volunteered to fix her lights and clean up the balcony area.
Looking at the clean apartment, Clarissa smiled gratefully. “Thank you for helping me, Caleb.” “Don’t
worry about it. Always happy to help a pretty lady.” Caleb looked at Clarissa as he spoke.
‘That’s bold of him! Well, he does look pretty handsome with those clear eyes and dense eyebrows.’
However, Clarissa still couldn’t see Caleb in a romantic light. After all, she was still a lecturer.
She smiled. “Thank you for your compliment.”
With his hands in his pocket, Caleb draped his shirt on one side of his shoulder and whistled happily as
he left.
