Chapter 467 Throw Caution to the Wind

Chapter 467 Throw Caution to the Wind

Clarissa was nervous. ‘Iris really has feelers everywhere! It’s as if she saw these things happen with

her own eyes.’

“Who’s the father of Lucy’s son?” Clarissa asked.

“He’s actually her nephew, and his name is Logan. Her brother died of uremia, leaving behind a lone

child. Logan’s the only male descendant of the Fur family, so Lucy has to protect him at all costs,” Iris

said truthfully.

Damien already knew about this, and Clarissa would sooner or later. There was no benefit in lying to

her. If Iris did lie about this, Clarissa would start to doubt her words. Then, Clarissa wouldn’t believe

whatever she had said before.

This time, Iris told the truth to make Clarissa believe that Damien was ruthless, cruel, and constantly on Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

the verge of breaking the law.

Clarissa clenched her fists, suddenly terrified. Damien had a hand in Theresa’s and Madelynn’s deaths,

as well as Lucy’s upcoming imprisonment. Just what sort of monster was he?

“Miss Johnson, love fades with time. One day when you’re old and withered, he’ll fall for another

younger woman. After all, even men in their eighties like to go after young women in their twenties.

Think about how he’ll treat you. In fact, just think about what happened to your mother,” Iris said.

Clarissa didn’t say anything. She hadn’t even thought about these things.

“Miss Johnson, are you wondering why I seem to know everything?”

Indeed, Iris was more terrifying than Clarissa had thought.

“Why are you targeting me?” she finally asked what she really wanted to know.

Iris paused. “Your mother, Helen, was my…”

“Cut the crap.” Clarissa waved a hand. “Do you think I’ll believe you? She’s nothing like a mother.”

She had never so much as given a call to Clarissa over the past three years, let alone cared for her.

“It’s the truth, whether you believe it or not. So…” Iris stood up and gripped Clarissa’s jaw, scrutinizing

her. “You look just like her.”

“Who?” Clarissa asked.

“Helen, of course. Don’t you think so? Back then, she snatched my lover, and now, it’s your turn! Be

careful, or Neil might just fall into a river somewhere one day. Look—”

Iris pulled her phone out and flipped through her photo album. They were all of Neil.

He was rolling around in the sand, playing with other kids, eating…

Clarissa’s hair suddenly stood on end.

“If you and Damien get back together, you won’t be able to keep whatever happened between you and

this person under wraps! Spend the rest of your life alone, Clarissa.” Iris showed Clarissa more photos.

Clarissa frowned, trying to figure out how Iris had found out about something so private. She wasn’t

afraid of Iris sending the photos to Damien; what she was afraid of was how Iris had gotten her hands

on them.

“Did you think the three years you spent in Lotharia were boring and meaningless? No, you had a

wonderful time there because of Seth Highmore. You two… I don’t think I need to elaborate.” Iris

showed her more photos.

In the first photo, Clarissa lay on the examination bed. Seth had his white doctor’s coat on as he sat

next to her and watched her sleep.

In the second photo, Seth was giving Clarissa a doll, which she loved. The third photo showed

Clarissa’s joy at Seth having bought her a few books that she hadn’t managed to find.

There was another one where Clarissa was crying in Seth’s arms…

These events had all happened in Seth’s clinic, so there was no way outsiders could know about them.

Despite this, Iris had still managed to find out about them.

“Miss Johnson, you’re really popular among men. You have plenty of them wrapped around your finger.

Well, I’m going to go now.” Iris left right after.

Just by looking at her light, graceful steps, it was impossible to see how evil she was on the inside.

Silence descended on the room. Then, Clarissa’s phone chimed.

She suddenly wanted to do something rash. Since Iris would be able to know about everything she had

done, there was no use in her being so cautious. She didn’t want to have to sneak around anymore.

She wanted Neil to know she was his mother, and she was going to act as she saw fit.

Clarissa was going to throw caution to the wind.
