Chapter 477

Corley's gaze shifted from Norris to Roseanne, subtly taking in both of them. These two...NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

"Dad, you know him?" Roseanne approached, her surprise evident in her voice.

Dad? A smirk tugged at the corners of Corley's mouth.

He had been in Pinehollow on business for three days, and today was his scheduled return. However, due to the flight being canceled because of bad weather, he had his secretary book a morning train instead.

Little did he expect to stumble upon such an unexpected surprise!

Norris spoke up, "It was this young man who helped me catch the thief. His agility was impressive!"

Roseanne paused for a moment, then realized and said, "Thank you, Mr. Sullivan."

"Roseanne, there's no need for such formality. Anyone else in my position would have done the same without hesitation."

Madge, astonished, asked, "You two know each other?"

Roseanne and Corley replied in unison, "Yes."

As for how they knew each other...

Clearly, this wasn't the right time to delve into that.

Madge didn't press further.

Norris asked, "Sullivan, where are you headed?"

Corley answered truthfully, "Back to Lumina City."

"What a coincidence! We're also heading to Lumina City. Which train are you on?"

Corley, with a playful edge, countered, "Which one are you on?"

After Norris mentioned his train number, Corley smiled, "What a coincidence indeed, I'm on the same one."

"Well, that's fantastic, we can travel together!"

"Sure." Corley found himself being warmly ushered to a seat by Norris.

During their chat, Corley discreetly took out his phone and changed his ticket. Coincidence, it seemed, could be orchestrated.

...

A train officer approached Norris to inquire about the situation. Norris mentioned that his lost phone and wallet had been recovered. The officer requested his cooperation in signing a document at the duty office since they had been involved in a police matter. Norris agreed without hesitation. Madge accompanied him, using it as an opportunity to stretch her legs after sitting for so long.

This left Roseanne and Corley alone. Despite others being around, Norris and Madge's departure made it feel as if they were in their own little world. to

Corley said, "Anne, in front of your parents, you still call me Mr. Sullivan."

He feigned a pout.

Roseanne blinked, "What else should I call you? Haven't I always called you Mr. Sullivan?"

"Mr. Sullivan sounds too formal. You're still a student, and 'Sir' just seems too stiff, might give your Dad and Mom the wrong idea." "Whether they get the wrong idea or not, I don't know, but you certainly have."

Corley was speechless.

"Is calling me Corley really that hard?"

Roseanne nodded solemnly, "It is. I don't just casually acknowledge someone as my brother, unless you actually were my brother."

Like with Halley, calling him brother felt natural.

Corley quickly gestured, "Then forget it, Mr. Sullivan it is."

That's better than being her brother, anyway...

A thought struck Corley, and he pulled out a book from his bag. Before he could speak, Roseanne exclaimed, "You bought it?!"

'e'

Indeed, the book in Corley's hands was the same out-of-print original edition that she hadn't finished reading at the West Street bookstore! to

Corley raised an eyebrow, "I'm

pers with the owner. After al , he finally agreed t

it as a favor to me." to

So it was a gift, not even a purchase...

Roseanne suddenly felt a pang of envy.

"Here, take it."

part

"...Huh?" She was momentarily confused, then quickly waved her hands, "I can't, it was a gift to you..."

Corley interjected, "I obtained it from him with the intention of giving it to you."

Otherwise, what use would he have for such a specialized book? He couldn't understand it anyway...
