LILY
Fuming with rage, I took a cab straight to Cayden’s apartment. On getting there, I was greeted by a strange woman who was already on her way out when I knocked. The strange lady ignored me and walked out giving me a better view of inside the apartment, in which Cayden stood, looking pathetic to me. I immediately walked in and slammed the door behind me in rage.
“Seriously?!” I exclaimed, filled with rage. “Cayden, seriously?!” I was so cheesed off that I’d completely cut it out with the formality. “So you now let just anyone grace your bed, huh?” I barked angrily with every iota of sarcasm in my tone.
“I can explain, okay? Let me explain”
“Explain!”
“She’s just some girl I met last night, okay? I’m sorry, please,” he apologized heartily.
“You know what? I think you’d be fine on your own, okay? I can’t put up with this any longer,” I tried to leave when Cayden stood in my way, preventing me from getting to the door.C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
“Please just listen,” he pleaded. “I’m sorry, okay? Please forgive my insolence,” he apologized still. “I didn’t completely forget our appointment. It’s just that the circumstances I got myself entangled in didn’t permit me. Once again, I was wrong and I’m sorry,” he apologized in the most lowly tone I’d ever heard him speak, enough to calm my horses. “Let’s just have the lessons here,” he suggested and I just sighed deeply.
After a moment of silence and stares, I gave in and sat down. “Today we have to be serious,” I said with all seriousness.
“Sure, sure,” he sat. “How’s Jacek though?” he inquired with concern.
“He’s doing just fine,” I replied still frowning a bit.
“First and foremost, why did Samantha hit you that way?” I blurted suddenly to his awe.
“Ummm…would you like anything?” it was quite obvious he intended to avert my question.
“Mr. Cayden!” I exclaimed rather loudly. “Why did Samantha hit you that way?” I asked again, staring right into his eyes, not falling for his ploy.
He heaved a sigh and returned my gaze which he’d been trying real hard to avoid. “Was in a relationship with her,” he finally said.
“For how long?”
“One week.”
“One week?!” I exclaimed wide-eyed. “So why exactly did she hit you?” I asked again. I really was curious. I wanted to know so bad what had transpired between the two.
“I broke up with her.”
“That much was obvious, sir,” I fired sarcastically. “Over what exactly? That’s the issue here.”
“You didn’t ask her?”
“Was I supposed to?” I retorted.
“Well, the reason for our break-up is quite embarrassing,” he once again tried to avert his gaze. “Can we just skip this part?” he requested meekly. “Just teach me.”
“But I demand to know. The embarrassment the last time wasn’t what I expected.”
“Okay,” he shrugged. “I’d stopped in the middle of getting intimate with her and…,” I noticed he felt quite embarrassed but I didn’t care. “And?” “I told her I wasn’t feeling her and asked her to leave in the middle of the night,” he finally completed his story.
“You what?!” I exclaimed wide-eyed. I’d never heard any story as ridiculous as that one. It sounded funny but then again, that was cruel. I was short of words and so, I decided to move on to the main agenda of the day. “Well…,” I cleared my throat. “Let’s just move on to the business of today, shall we?”
“Sure,” he replied and lowered his head. He gave off a bit different aura today. ‘What could be wrong with him?’ I thought.
“So this time, her name’s Clara Smith,” I showed him her details on my phone. She was light-skinned also, but this time with dark hair and brown eyes. Her physique was really beautiful as she had an ‘8-shaped’ figure.
I decided to spend the remaining time we could spare before his date that was in less than two hours, teaching him what he needed to know. Surprisingly to him, I was rather too calm at the time for someone who was fuming with rage minutes ago.
“So this time, the date is at a restaurant. So how do you think you’d start off a conversation?”
“‘Nice to meet you’?”
“Okay, … that’s actually…”
“A given?” he cut in and we both smiled.
“Well, like I said for Samantha, there wouldn’t be much difference. This time, there are no paintings so how about we practice.”
“Sure.”
“So I’ll be Clara and you’ll be you. Cool?” he didn’t reply. “Mr. Cayden?” I called out mildly.
“Yeah, sure,” he replied spontaneously. “Are you okay?” I asked with concern.
“Of course,” he replied.
“So shall we?”
“Sure.”
“Act like I’m Clara.”
“Alright,” he cleared his throat and was ready to finally get down to business.
“Hello beautiful,” he smiled broadly.
“Hello… Mr. Cayden?” I played along.
“I sure am,” he replied jovially, beaming as I couldn’t help but let out a mild chuckle. He looked so cute, that fact I could not deny. “So, ummm….,” *sigh* Mr. Cayden was back to his normal confused self. How hard could this be?
We both went in and out of practice sessions for the next one hour which left us with little time to prepare physically for the actual date but oh well, what had to be done, had to be done.
During practice, I noticed how Cayden seemed a bit out of it. He kept stealing glances at me and wasn’t really interested in my lessons.
“Are you listening?” I asked when he had ignored the question I asked seconds ago.
“Umm… You were saying?” he kept spacing out for the entire period. ‘She’s being so nice to me’, he thought.
“Hellooo?” I called out again and he jerked. “Why are you spacing out?” I asked with concern.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized meekly as he shrugged his shoulders. He must have been lost in the pool of his own thoughts.
‘She’s not being nice to me, this is purely business’, Cayden thought and shrugged once again.
