Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 456

"You..." Wyatt stammered, hardly able to contain his rage.

Wilbur continued on, "Wyatt, are you sure you knew nothing of Felix's illegal mining all these years?" That had been an open secret here, but no one dared to talk about it for fear of ruffling any feathers.

But now that Wilbur had exposed the truth in broad daylight, everyone wanted to know just how Wyatt and Felix were going to answer the question.

Wyatt, amidst his fury, was starting to sense that something was off.

The gaze of the townsfolk he had never even seen or treated as equals before now seemed to radiate an invisible pressure, bearing down hard on him.

Felix, too, had never expected that these people who used to scuttle away like mice at the sight of him were now staring straight at him.

Wyatt and Felix exchanged a glance, and Wyatt knew that there was going to be trouble if this went on any further.

He took a deep breath, and shouted, "Nuphermen, arrest those two bastards right now! Felix, clear this place out. If anyone refuses to leave, beat them up until they do." Felix turned to call out to his men at once. "Get the crowd to leave and beat them up if they don't listen." His men were about to do as told when Kenneth took a step forward and shouted, "Nobody move! The crowd did nothing wrong here, and whoever does anything to them will be arrested." "Are you trying to retaliate against my orders, Nupherman?" Wyatt cried out in shock and rage.

Kenneth replied, "You might hold a higher position than me, Wyatt, but | don't belong to you. You can't order me, and I'm not going to let you attack these innocent townsfolk." "I'll have you fired for this!" Wyatt roared.

Kenneth scoffed. "Do as you please. I'm not going to let you have your way today. You can sort out this conflict with your investors on your own, but I'm not going to let you touch the townsfolk." He then backed up with his men in tow, standing in front of the onlookers.

Kenneth had detested Wyatt and Felix for a long tnow. Unfortunately, he did not cfrom a significant family with power.

Otherwise, he would not have been transferred to a station in a place like this and be stuck here for the past ten years. There was nothing he could do but hold himself back.

However, with Wilbur's callout and the crowd's silent protest, Kenneth felt that he could not stand by anymore and chose to stand with the townsfolk.

It might not be his place to meddle in Wilbur and Wyatt's internal dispute considering the fact that he was no match for Wyatt.

That was the best he could do.

Wyatt was caught off guard by Kenneth's refusal to listen to him, and so was Felix.

Regardless, Wyatt and Felix were ruthless men at their very core and knew that they could not back down anymore, or they would be done for.

Felix shouted at his men, "Get them right now! I'll reward all of you a hundred thousand dollars each after this is over if you clear the place out! This is an order!" Felix's men perked up. A hundred-thousand-dollar reward? Their gazes sharpened, and they ran to get their batons from the cars before charging at the crowd.

Wilbur frowned, and Skyler took a step forward. As if right on cue, the air echoed with the sounds of police sirens.

The crowd was shocked by the sudden sirens and looked over at once. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

Over ten Special Forces vehicles were pulling up to the scene with their sirens wailing. The doors of the cars opened, and over a hundred armed Special Forces agents emerged to surround the scene at once.

A few Audis pulled up behind all of them as well, parking around the perimeter of the blockade.
