Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Lottie’s POV
“Would you chill out already?” Anna snorts out a laugh, as I slide down in the passenger seat as low as possible, pulling my jumper up over my face.
“This will be terrible if they catch us spying on them!” I pray for the opposite to happen, as Anna laughs me off and pulls into the McDonald’s driveway.
We had currently hired a car for twenty–four hours having decided, or rather Anna was the one that decided, we would find out just what exactly the boys were getting up to on a Saturday night.
It all started with boredom after we had gotten back home and had freshened up from the party. We were stuck on how to spend the rest of our day, when Anna decided we would hire a car and go out for a ‘drive.
I of course agreed to her plan, until she stated that we would use the car to follow behind them like the FBI and figure out what they are getting up to.
I just knew they would be pissed if they seen us, which is why I dreaded the plan. Anna though thought it was absolutely hilarious.
We knew they were set to leave from Dels at seven, hearing them discuss it briefly before we left. It was now six forty and we were stopped at McDonald’s to grab something for dinner.
“Gotta be fast incase they decide to leave early!” Anna confirms after ordering our food, as we wait at the next window.
“Yeah…” Is all I reply, as the male worker soon approaches with two bags in hand – passing them through to us.
Anna thanks him, handing them to me, as we set off again – passing by some now familiar streets. It wasn’t long until we pulled up a littley down the street from Dels home – seeing the boys cars still parked out front.
“Ok so while we wait and eat… tell me the real goss on you and Alex?” Anna begins, shutting off the engine and opening the food bag.
“Uhh… there ain’t nothing much to tell… I honestly don’t know why he kissed me last night it was so random!” I explain, putting a handful of fries into my mouth.
“I know right? I wonder what his deal is? I’ll need to investigate and see if his intentions are pure!” Anna nods to herself, as I furrow my brows.
“His intensions? Surely it was just a one night thing, I don’t think that he’s actually interested.” I babble out, growing suddenly hot and bothered by the topic.
“He for sure likes you!” Anna grins, as I shake my head and laugh – I doubt that very much.
We laugh and continue to eat our food, noticing the time was now five past seven. They are late…
“Oh there they are!” Anna perks up, tossing her empty wrapping into the back seat, as she starts up the car.
The three of them climb into Dels vehicle, before they waste no time on taking off – as Anna follows suit a couple of seconds after.
Make sure you keep a good distance! I squeak, shrinking down in my seat again as they remain a fair bit ahead of us.
“Don’t worry too much this will be hilarious!” Anna giggles, the opposite of myself as she finds the humour in following them.
She’s Jace’s cousin though so they can’t exactly hurt her but me on the other hand? I know they’ll kill me for this!
“Why the heck are they going this way?!” Anna complains, as we suddenly turn down onto a rocky road.
Thankfully there was a car between us now, so we didn’t look too suspicious…
“Where does this lead?” I ask, feeling uneasy with the lack of lighting down the road – reminding me of a horror movie scene this is usually when the car breaks down and we get stranded!
I gulp at the thought, as Anna turns up the radio and sings along without a care in the world…
“Wait what?!” She suddenly says, putting her left indicator on as we see both cars ahead turning left also.
I’m certain
“That’s down towards the old mill… why the hell would they be going down there!” Anna complains, as the road gets slightly smoother, and we begin travelling down hill.
“Where is that?” I ponder, as she shakes her head.
“It’s just a big old abandoned building down by the lake… nobody really goes there… so it’s weird that not only the boys car, but the car in between us is also going that way!” Anna rants, as I attempt to melt further into my seat. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
This does not feel right to me at all!
It isn’t long before we approach two large gates slowing down, as they lead us into a large gravel parking lot. We both gasp next seeing how many cars and people are already down here…
“I thought you said… people don’t come down here much…” I whisper, as we slowly drive behind the boys and follow them as they quickly find a parking space.
Anna parks this car a little further away, but still close enough for us to see them, as we shut the engine off and watch the masses of men talk and clang beers together outside.
“Why are some of them wearing suits?! What is this shit!” Anna looks around seeming dumbfounded by the surroundings, before we see the three in question clammer their way out of Dels car.
We watch them from afar, as random groups of men go up to greet them instantly, treating them like regulars to whatever this place is…
“Anna I don’t think we should be here…” I admit, as my palms grow sweaty.
“We’ve already came this far… something must be happening soon… we will wait it out until everyone is distracted and then we can sneak inside to watch what’s going on!” Anna turns to me, giving my shoulder a reassuring shake.
“Nothing can happen to us anyway right? At least we know Jace, Del and Alex are here… worst case scenario… they will be here to back us up!” Anna further tries to convince us both that this idea is fine.
“I hope you’re right…” I whisper, as another car pulls up closer to us.
We watch as four tattooed and pierced men climb out from the Audi, tossing their empty beer bottles aside as they yell and laugh- seeming hyped up about something.
We really don’t belong out here…
