Invincible Heir

Chapter 55 As a Mother

Chapter 55 As a Mother

The severe pain in Terry’s wrist sobered him immediately, and he said in agony, “Damn, get off me!”

Hearing his cry, Sherry and Tracy then realized what was going on.

“Baron, stop!” Tracy said in a hurry.

“Baron, throw this bastard out of here, or you won’t be allowed to live here,” Sherry said angrily as well.

“Mom, dad was merely drunk. He was never like this before. Don’t you know?”

Tracy said madly, and looked at Baron, “Don’t mind over what mom said! Help me and send him into

the room.”

Baron nodded mildly and got off Terry’s wrist.

Indeed, pain can alleviate intoxication. Terry came to a bit, despite feeling a little drunk. He gave Baron

a cold look, “You garbage dare to beat me!”

Terry left provocative words and faltered into his room.

“Baron! You are against me right after you come to my home. Are you plotting to take the place of me

one day?”

Sherry was rather mad and rebuffed pointing at the door gate, “Get out of my face. Don’t wish to come

back anymore.”

Baron suppressed his anger, but he could only endure it for the sake of Tracy and Lara.

“Mom, what are you doing?”

Tracy began to cry, “Can’t you make our life a bit easier?”

“Tracy, I do it for you and I don’t want you to be poor like me! Look at your dad! He was poor and I still

married him. So what? He’s worthless. He just drinks the whole day and even beats me.”

There was a mark of slam on Sherry’s face and she said agitatedly, “I just want you to marry a wealthy

man who is willing to live happily with you. Anything wrong?”

“But he is Lara’s dad and my husband!” Tracy said in a blush.

“Lara is your daughter. True! But you are also my daughter. I want you to live well only, for I love you

anyway!”

Sherry sobbed, “You give birth to a daughter for him and he left you for 5 years. How about him? Does

he even know how miserable you are these years? Is he eligible to be Lara’s dad? To be your

husband? No! He isn’t!”

Sherry shed tears and cried loudly.

Baron stood still in surprise and kept silent, and he could only hear what she just said.

Tracy, glancing at Baron and sympathizing with him, felt like telling her that he was not valueless, but a

great hero safeguarding his country, but she could say nothing.

In the evening, Baron slept in the storeroom, the size of which was only a couple of square meters, too

small to accommodate a bed, but he preferred it to Peak Hotel that cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

Also, the storeroom was next to the room of his wife and daughter.

“Mom, you lie!” Lara, seeing Tracy go to bed, said bitterly.

“What?” Tracy was confused, “When?”

“You said dad would live with us, right?” Lara’s eyes turned wet and she nearly cried.

“I didn’t lie to you. He lives next to us.”

“Why should dad sleep there? I want dad to hug me. Mom, may I ask dad to come here?”

“Dad’s tired and has fallen asleep. Leave him alone, okay?”

“Nope! I want dad! I want dad!”

Lara burst into tears.

Baron, who was right in the next door, hearing the cry, rushed into the room, “Don’t cry, Lara. I am

here!” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Lara stopped crying at once when he heard her dad and put herself into his bosom in a flash from her

bed.

“Dad, I thought you didn’t want me!” Lara embraced his neck and said in tears.

“You are my daughter, so how could I abandon you?” Baron said.

Tracy was jealous of her husband who was yearned by Lara. She brought up her daughter, but Lara

loved him so much when she saw Baron before long.

Baron seemed to perceive Tracy’s mood, said softly to his daughter, holding her to the bedside, and

helped her wipe her tears off, “Lara, I have to work tomorrow. I am tired now and want to go to bed.

Rest yourself with your mom early, okay?”

Lara pouted and felt like crying again, “Dad, sleep with us, okay? I feel scared without you!”

“What?” Baron asked in confusion.

“I fear dad won’t love me!” Lara could help crying and tears pattered down her cheeks.

Her words surprised Tracy and Baron.

Baron, in particular, was heartbroken and felt guilty for failing to be with them for 5 years.

Tracy’s eyes turned red as well, for Baron was her biological father, whether she accepted him or not.

They were a family after all.

“Don’t cry, Lara. Dad stays here tonight and sleeps with us.” Tracy said in a hurry.

Baron was astonished as well and he became more serious seeing Tracy was nearly to shed tears.

Sleeping with a man she didn't love must be uncomfortable for Tracy. But she had to face it for Lara’s

good.

It was probably what she had to do as a mother!

Lara eventually stopped crying and hugged Baron’s neck for fear that he would leave secretly.

The family slept in one bed with Lara lying between Tracy and Baron.

Baron and Tracy couldn't fall asleep easily.

Lara fell into sleep so fast, partly because she had cried so long and she finally felt safe with her dad.

But she kept holding Baron’s neck even though she was asleep.

Baron dared not move and maintained the same posture while being hugged by his daughter.

Not a bit of tiredness, but a strong sense of happiness.

Later, Lara tossed suddenly and relaxed her grip on dad.

Baron got up carefully looking at his wife and daughter with affection, he helped pull their quilt lightly

and then left.

He must leave even if he was reluctant.

He understood she did it for her daughter, not for him.

Now that his daughter was asleep, he didn’t need to linger there.

He didn't realize that Tracy opened her eyes in the dark after he went away.

An inaudible sigh sounded.

It was a night without sleep.

For both of them…
