Chapter 9
Chapter 9
I leaned my head on my hand, trying to listen to everything my science teacher, Mr. Reagan was saying.
"Can you focus on anything he's saying?" Tori whispered and I shook my head, glancing to make sure he wasn't paying attention to us talking.
"I just want to go home and pack right now," I whispered back and she nodded eagerly.
Mr. Reagan cleared his throat loudly and gave us both a pointed look. I shrunk back in my seat awkwardly and mumbled an apology. I wasn't one to get yelled at by teachers often, but my science teacher was an exception. Since this was the only class I've had with Tori, we tended to get in trouble a lot; whether it's whispering to each other or texting back and forth. Heck, he gets mad just for us glancing at each other.
"Okay, I have your list of partners for this month's project right here. It's Miranda and Alex, Tori and Clover, Stacey and Hailey, Andrew and Michael, and oh, wait, this is the seating chart. Hold on one second."
I frowned looking at Tori. “So close." She muttered and I frowned, nodding in agreement.
"I know."
"Ah, here it is. Okay, Stacey and Alex, Tori and Michael, Andrew and Miranda, Clover and Eric..." He continued with the list but I tuned out once I heard who I was partnered with.
"Hey, at least your partnered with someone smart," Tori whispered to me before looking over at her partner with disgust who sat across the room next to Andrew.
"Any questions?" Mr. Reagan asked, finishing the list and hanging it on the chalkboard with a magnet.
I looked around and noticed my partner wasn't here so I raised my hand. "Yeah, my partner isn't here." I said awkwardly.
"Huh, well we're starting this today, so you can be with Andrew since his partner isn't here either. I'll just switch those around and pair those two together instead." He said making my eyes go wide.
"No, it's okay. Really it's no problem. I can wait till he comes back." I insisted but he waved me off. Partners are officially settled now. Get with each other and look at the sheet from earlier to pick your topic.
Everyone hesitantly moved over to their partners, but I decided not to move and waited for the obnoxious bad boy to move by me."Slut." Stacey muttered walking past me as she moved over by her partner, Alex.
I look back at Andrew who was sitting in his chair with his head back and eyes closed.
Yeah, he was sleeping.
I huffed loudly and pick up my books from my desk, walking over to him. I kicked the chair leg hard, enough to make it at least shake a little. "Hey, sleeping beauty. Wake up." I snapped but he didn't budge. I lightly patted his cheeks but cringed when drool lighly dribbled down the side of chin.
Lovely. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"Ew," I mumbled before shaking his shoulder. "Andrew!" I said louder causing him to jump up in surprise.
"What? What happened? Is class over?" He asked rubbing his hand up his face and into his messy hair after realizing there was no dire emergency.
"We're partners," I said sitting in the seat next to him.
"What class are we even in?" He asked confused making me look up at the ceiling, silently praying this is just a dream and I really wasn't stuck with this completely incompetent idiot.
"Clover, Andrew, do you have your topic?" Mr. Reagan asked and I cringed, quickly skimming the sheet for a topic.
"Yeah, we're going to do the food one," Andrew said confidently making my eyes snap to him.
"We're what?" I questioned with narrowed eyes. I don't remember agreeing on this.
"Very well." He said walking away to the next group.
I stared at Andrew with confusion and he only looked back at me with a challenging look. "What's wrong? Surprised I actually knew what we were doing?" He asked harshly making me frown.
"So you weren't sleeping before?" I asked and he only shook his head.
"Clearly not." He said looking down at his paper."So we're doing the topic, 'Can food affect your mood?' It's an easy A and we get to eat." He added on, his tone less harsh then before.
"Did I do something to offend you?" I asked suddenly. I couldn't understand where the harshness was coming from. I mean sure he's annoying but I didn't say anything that would actually hurt him.
"No." He said pulling out his phone and texting furiously to someone.
"Okay, well, when are we going to work on this? I mean clearly, we can't be bringing food into the classroom so we can just do the paperwork stuff in here and the eating and note taking outside of school." I said, writing that on the side of the paper as well.
"Sounds fine to me." He said not bothering to look up at me.
"How about tomorrow then?" I asked slowly. It was strange that he was acting this way when just earlier he was all flirty and ready to mingle.
"You'll be over later so we can just start then." He said finally looking back up at me again.
"Fine," I said slightly clenching my pen. This monotone Andrew was slightly infuriating. How can a guy go from constant flirting to a complete closed off douche in just hours? Were girls this bad?
"So," I started in a more upbeat tone. "What homework do you have tonight?" I asked curiously, a lame attempt to start a conversation.
"Didn't we already go over this?" Andrew questioned boredly, typing away at his phone again.
"Nope," I answer while lightly tapping my nails on the desk.
Yeah, I was one of those people in class.
He finished off his text before setting it on the desk and turning so he was looking at me. His cold exterior was now gone and replaced with a more confident look that reeked cocky."Why? Excited to get to my place?" He asked causing me to stare at him blankly.
I blinked a few times to see if he was serious. He continued on before I could respond. "Listen, I know a nerdy virgin like you probably doesn't do the whole sex thing, but I'm feeling generous. I'll give you one time for free, but if you mention it to Stacey then you're digging your own grave." He whispered to me causing my jaw to drop.
My hand twitched, wanting to slap him. “You’re a complete dick. You know that, right?" I asked but he only leaned back in his chair.
"I don't mind. I mean it would be my community service for the week. You should feel proud that I'd even do you for free. I mean you've got no boobs and no ass." He said making me frown, highly
offended. I mean even though my shirt covered my butt and you could tell I at least had something there.
He clearly doesn't have room for imagination with that ego.
"Um, I would never need nor want sex from you. Sorry, buddy, but I've seen and met hotter then you." I said lightly patting his shoulder. There was no way I was letting him get away with that comment and keep the upper hand.
"I'm the school's notorious bad boy, the player. Of course you want this."Andrew said gesturing to his own fit body.
"The only thing your notorious for is pulling fire alarms and playing with matches." I said turning my head to the side slightly and sending him a fake apologetic look.
"Pulling the fire alarm? Baby, I do way worse than pull some fire alarms. But if you would like me to, I could show you some time." I quietly snorted and sent him a disgusted look.
"No thanks. I prefer guys who have an IQ higher than twelve." I said causing him to narrow his eyes.
"Man, who knew you were such a bitch. No wonder Stacey doesn't like you." He said turning back so he was facing front.
I sighed, maybe I was a little harsh. No, wait he started it with his demeaning comments. Not all women want him. I mean sure he's hot, but if he didn't bring his ego down from the clouds then he would surely end up alone with nothing but his hand to satisfy him.
The bell suddenly rung, not giving me a chance to reply. I stood up and gathered my books and he did the same, except he had no books to gather so he only stood there waiting for me.
"Yes?" I asked once I was finished.
"You riding home with me?" He asked making me mentally cringe. This new wig cap was squeezing my head to death. I just wanted to take it off and go have a nice bath with rose petals and candles.
Typical? I know, but hey, they leave you with a great smell.
I looked over at Tori who was waiting impatiently at the door. Right, she has that photo shoot. She wouldn't have time to drive me to his house. For all I know it could be the complete opposite direction.
"Yeah, if you don't mind." I said and sent Tori a signal with my hands, waving them show she would know that she's good to go. I sent her a quick text as well before facing the bad boy.
"Okay, let's go then." He said walking ahead. I followed him out and wasn't surprised to find Stacey standing there waiting.
"Baby, you're still coming over, right?" She asked batting her lashes and pushing her boobs on his arm.
"No, plans changed. I've got homework." He said making her giggle loudly.
"Please, you don't do homework." She said, but he only stepped back in response.
"I'll talk to you later, Stace." He said before heading to the front school doors.
"This is your fault, you nerdy bitch." Stacey snapped, backing me into a locker.
