Chapter 941 The Perfect Change (Part One)
Chapter 941 The Perfect Change (Part One)
"Well...so are you not jealous now?" Derek asked with genuine curiosity.
Greg was taken by surprise with this question and gave them a blank look. But his mind was racing and
thoughts flooded in, one after the other, like a rising tempest, 'This Stephen might just be Jackson's
rival in love, ' he thought.
"What do I have to be jealous of, I have nothing to envy! Stephen's child is as old as Violet, he's a
father! Cherry can talk to him and contact him if she wants to, why would I have a problem with that?"
Jackson took a pause and breathed. Everything he had said right now was more than true. As a young,
hot blooded lover, he had every right to be jealous of Cherry talking to other men. After all, that was
how he had shown his love for her. But now, things were different. Cherry and he had fallen in a
peaceful laid back place, where love need not be shown or proven to each other. Now he did not have
a problem with her talking to other men.
Derek thought a while and nodded, "Yes, you're right Jackson."
The conversation then turned to banter, as if they had picked up from where they had last left.
Suddenly, Violet sauntered into the room to find the gentlemen engaging in friendly banter. A hush fell
over and the men stopped talking to look at her.
Violet paid no heed to who else was there. She barely glimpsed at Lawrence and Greg and directly
went to her father. Even in her confident strode, she didn't glance at anyone else. She plonked down
next to Jackson and put his arm around her, "What are you talking about Daddy?"
Jackson smiled at his little princess, "Well, if you are that curious to know what we are talking about,
maybe you should sit here and find out."
"Oh, no no. I am not here to stay. I only came in to give you Mummy's message. She has said that
dinner's almost ready. You can chat for a little time but once Lily serves dinner, I'll call you."
Jackson did not let his smile fade, but instead, he looked towards Greg and pointedly asked Violet, "So,
are you going to just talk to me and let others be offended and hurt?"
Violet immediately knew what her Dad meant. She looked at Greg who smiled back at her, his face
glowing with hope and eagerness.
"Well I don't care about who's angry at me and who's not! I only care about my Daddy, because I love
him the most!"
"Hmm, well okay," said Jackson as he looked at his daughter with love, "So how about you just stay
with us then? You can stay with your Mommy and Daddy forever and leave Greg behind, is that what
you want?"
The question hit her liked a stone out of nowhere. Violet was stumped, she didn't know how to answer
this.
Now all eyes were on Violet. In a corner, Lawrence sneered, he had been put in embarrassing
situations way too often by Violet and he was glad it was Violet's turn for a change. He could finally get
his revenge! He looked forward to seeing how Violet answered this tricky question.
"Well, Daddy, I'd love to stay with you..." Violet started and trailed off..."but you know I couldn't bear to
live with Lawrence! He troubles me too much!"
"Who! Me? Troubles you?" Now it was Lawrence's turn to be hit hard and out of nowhere. Violet got
him, like a vicious hunter catches an innocent sheep.
Violet triumphantly said, "Why yes, don't you think so? You'd harass me and disturb me way too much."
Violet gave him a mischievous smile.
A delicious warmth spread within Greg's whole body, he now knew that Violet definitely loved him and
wanted to be with him. She obviously could not tell Jackson that she did not want to live with them. So
Lawrence became the obvious scapegoat. She had to blame him, to get out of this.
Lawrence shrugged and got up, with hands in his pocket, he mumbled, "Yeah, yeah okay...go live with
Greg. Leave tonight itself." He said and walked out of the room. He feared she might blame some other
things on him too.
Violet threw him a dirty look and mocked, "Lawrence, you're so irritating!"
Jackson finally intervened, "Okay now enough you too! Violet stop saying such things about your
brother. Let us all go down and have dinner. We shouldn't keep your Mom waiting."
......
The family sat down to dinner, complete with Bill and Lily on the table as well.
There was something beautiful and happy about the moment. Everyone had delicious food on their
plate and a glass of fine wine in hand. They all smiled and made merry, after all, it had been so long
since all of them were together like this.
On the happy occasion, Cherry couldn't contain her mirth. She stood up and made a toast to the
wonderful moment, "Today is such a happy, happy day! My lovely daughter Violet has finally returned
and will now live here. I'm elated that we can all spend more time as a family now onwards. And Alice,
let's go shopping together when we have time."
Amy happily replied, "Of course, we will always invite you to go with us!"
Cherry then smiled and turned to Alice, "You know sweetheart, even if Violet is not around, you can
come down to see us anytime. It will make us very happy. We miss you, you know?"
"Absolutely!" said Alice.
Cherry then looked towards Derek and slyly said, "Applies to you too Derek. You can come see
Jackson anytime, as long as he is not spending time with me." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Derek responded to her with a huge smile, "Well, in that case, I'll come and have a drink with him
everyday!"
That lightened the mood for everyone on the table and they all laughed in unison.
Finally addressing Bill and Lily, Cherry said to them with a smile, "And you two! You both need not be
here all alone anymore. We'll all be together again! All of us in the same house, just like before."
Lily and Bill smiled and approvingly nodded, "This is amazing!"
Cherry then cleared her throat, she wanted to say something for a long time. Now was the time.
"Apart from the fact that all of us are now together, what makes me the happiest of all, is that Greg is
now my son-in-law! Greg, you are going to be like a son to us and you can come visit us anytime. You
don't have to wait or ask us. Whatever you need, we'll be here for you."
Greg was a little emotional after hearing Cherry's loving words. He had long yearned for maternal love
and now, here it was. He smiled happily, his heart warmed by their welcome and love.
