Chapter 36 An Unexpected Guest (Part One)
Chapter 36 An Unexpected Guest (Part One)
While in the vehicle, Stephen asked, "Cherry, would you like to live in my suburban?villa for a few
days? I live in the urban house."
"No, that's okay. Just drive me back home." Cherry replied.
"But Jackson has treated you like that, why would you still want to go back to that house?" Stephen
was a bit confused. Why would Cherry still want to go back home in spite of what Jackson had done to
her?
Cherry kept silent and gazed at the scenery outside the window. She felt so tired.
Maybe she shouldn't have married Jackson to begin with. Perhaps she should have forgiven John.
Then things would not have come to this. But since all that was water under the bridge, she should now
focus on what was coming.
Cherry told herself, "Just keep going forward."
Dropping Cherry at her?home, Stephen looked at her and was worried about her.
"Cherry, are you really okay?" Stephen couldn't help asking.
Cherry nodded, "It's all right. I will call you if there is any issue."
All Stephen could do was nod in agreement.
Cherry had hardly settled in when Jackson came back.
As soon as Jackson entered the house, he saw Cherry sitting on the sofa, which made him feel
content. He was always worried when Cherry was not at home.
Jackson walked up to her and sat down, glanced at the watch on his wrist, and asked, "Why haven't
you gone to sleep yet?"
"Jackson, maybe we should talk." Cherry turned her head towards Jackson.
"Talk about what?" Jackson asked.
"Talk about divorce, " Cherry said, with no expression on her face.
Jackson's face turned livid immediately, "Do you remember what I told you before? It's impossible for
us to divorce."
"You don't want to divorce or you can't?" Cherry said, "is there anything you are not able to do? You
can end our marriage if you want to."
"Cherry, why are you so anxious to leave me?" Jackson asked.
"How I wish I could leave you now, " Cherry retorted.
As Cherry finished her words, Jackson pinched her chin and looked at her, mercilessly, "Are you so
impatient to get into Stephen's arms?"
Despite the dreadful look from Jackson, Cherry continued, "Yes, at least his embrace is warmer than
yours."
"Cherry Shen!" Jackson roared.
Cherry looked into Jackson's eyes without fear.
"Remember, you can only be mine all your life. You belong only to me, " Jackson shouted, angrily.
"Jackson, I am not yours, " Cherry resisted.
Pushing Cherry on the sofa ferociously, Jackson nearly wanted to strangle her. "If you dare go to
Stephen, I will definitely see to it that he dies without a burial ground."
Cherry couldn't say a word. With Jackson's hand wringing her neck, it gradually became more difficult
to breathe.
From her stiff expression, Jackson suddenly realized what he was doing.
He released his hand slowly. Cherry breathed heavily and couldn't stop coughing. It did not feel good to
be gasping for oxygen.
Jackson stood up, turned his back to Cherry and snapped, "Stay at home and never think about going
out. Otherwise, I'll break your leg."
With these harsh words that sounded like a military order, Cherry was left with no room for
disobedience.
Watching Jackson leave, Cherry could only use tears to express her feelings.
Two?weeks?went?by. Looking at the sea outside the French window, Jackson was still distressed. He
did not know what he should do now. With Sally He's mood improving, Jackson intended to have a
frank conversation with her, but he was still afraid that Sally He would not accept his views and her This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
spirit would collapse again. As for Cherry, he hadn't seen her for two weeks, and he was anxious to see
her and make love to her. He could not stop missing her.
Suddenly, Jackson's phone rang. Pulling it out, Jackson saw it was Derek calling him.
"Hello, " Jackson said.
"Jackson, where are you?" Derek asked anxiously.
"What happened?" Jackson did not answer Derek's question.
"You need to go to your family residence and then we have to go back together to the barracks. I'm
informed that there is an urgent task waiting for us."
Jackson could figure out from Derek's voice that he was not joking. There must be something really
wrong, and he could not disobey a military order.
"Got it. Wait for me at my residence in the army compound." With these words, Jackson hung up the
phone.
Jackson came to the living room and saw that Sally He was playing games on her phone. He went to
her.
"Jackson, come here and help me pass this level. This game is so difficult, " Sally He said, like a
pampered child.
Sitting beside Sally He, Jackson did not take the phone from her hand. Instead, he said, "Sally, Derek
just called me and I have to go back to the army barracks. You will have to stay at home alone."
"You are leaving?" Sally He was a bit upset and looked at Jackson, angrily.
"You know that I can't disobey the order, " Jackson did not feel the need to explain further.
Sally He calmed down a bit and asked, "Well, when will you come back?"
"Maybe after several days. I won't know until I get back to the barracks, " Jackson said, peacefully.
Sally He did not say anything else.
Jackson stood up and prepared to leave.
Sally He stood up immediately as well and held Jackson from behind. Putting her head on Jackson's
back, Sally He said, reluctantly, "Come back early. I'm afraid of being alone."
