Chapter 553 Gunfight

A car suddenly appeared in front of him, causing him to panic and turn the steering wheel to the side. The car smashed into the guardrail at the side of the road.

A loud bang was heard from the car due to the impact. He quickly asked, “Are you all right, Madam?”

“I’m fine!” Pei Huan could feel herself getting hit pretty hard since the pain was making her wince. Still, she gritted her teeth and comforted, “I’m here, Bao.”

Bao was very calm throughout the whole journey. It wasn’t that he was unafraid; it was just that he didn’t want Pei Huan to worry.

Song Zhe reversed the car and drove forward again. The cars behind them were still chasing after them relentlessly. Eventually, his car was surrounded by the pursuers.

Song Zhe’s face turned pale. “Stay in the car, Madam. I—” Before he could finish, a gunshot was heard. He immediately pushed everyone down and protected them with his body.

Thankfully, Li Heng and Pei Jingxiu had made it in time. When the former saw that Song Zhe’s car was surrounded, he pulled out his gun and fired. He was quick and accurate. Before the pursuers realized what was going on, a few of them were already dead with a bullet in their heads. The others in the cars exited their vehicles and prepared to head straight toward Pei Huan.
