Chapter 8 Make Her Infertile
"Do you really want to prove everything you said at the mansion was just a joke?"
"Uh…yeah, I guess."
The man's chilling aura made him seem like a demon emerging from hell. Eudora felt death's presence
for the first time.
Driven by her instinct to survive, Eudora nodded vigorously, "I do, I-I really do. How can I prove it?"
"Very well." The frost on Colbert's face melted away, and his lips curled up into a faint smile.
Leaning close to her ear, his warm breath brushed against the strands of hair on her neck, sending
shivers down Eudora's spine.
"I have a permanent solution."
"What… what solution?"
Colbert paused, enjoying her anxious look. Finally, he continued, "We will tie your tubes!"
"T-tie my tubes?!"
Eudora was frightened and stepped back, bumping into the sofa behind her and falling into a seated
position. She stared blankly at Colbert, "No, no... I don't want that."
Having her tubes tied is so invasive… even though she can reverse it with surgery, there's a 50%
chance she'll never be able to get pregnant again!
No way she could agree to that!
"Colbert, are you insane?!"
Eudora, who had been tough most of the time, couldn't help feeling horrified.
She didn't know Colbert's true identity before, but now she knew and she was truly terrified.
Because this man had the power to crush everything.
Killing her would be as simple as stepping on an ant for him.
Colbert snorted lightly and made a call. "Corey, contact the hospital and prepare a tubal ligation right
away—"
"No, don't!"
Before Colbert could finish speaking, Eudora stood up abruptly, snatched his phone, and hung up the
call. Angry and aggrieved, she shouted, "Why?! Just because you have money, you can do whatever
you want?!"
Apparently, playing innocent and pitiful in front of this man was useless.
This bastard was nothing but a cold-blooded monster.
"We’ll see about that." Colbert snatched the phone from her and turned to leave.
"Don't go!" Eudora grabbed Colbert's hand, knelt down with a thud, and tearfully pleaded, "Mr. Steele,
you can't do this. I don't even know if I'm pregnant, but if I am, I will definitely have an abortion."
In order to escape the fate of being infertile forever, Eudora went all out.
After all, dignity was worthless when it came to the matter of life!
She didn't want to lose her chance of becoming a mother at such a young age.
"Just a moment ago, you were indignant, and now you're kneeling and begging?" Colbert held her chin
in his palm. "Tell me. Which is your true color?"
"Mr. Steele, please be reasonable. Your grandmother drugged you, and you slept with me without my
consent. I am the victim! Why should I be the only one to bear the consequences?!"
She was kneeling before him with a pitiful look, but now she was angry again. Such ever-changing
emotions triggered Colbert's interest.
"Well…I have money, so I can do whatever I want." Colbert returned Eudora’s own words and smirked,
"Stay here. Someone will take you for the surgery."
Colbert wiped his hand that held her chin with a tissue, as if disgusted.
He tossed the tissue into a trash can and walked away.
"Mr. Steele?"
"Mr. Steele! Let's talk about it, okay?"
"Hey, Colbert Steele! Don't go!"
"Colbert, you're just a jerk, a scumbag!"
Watching the man walk out of the room without even a glance back, Eudora couldn't help but burst into
curses.
She sat down on the sofa and reached for her phone to call Madam Steele, but only then did she
realize that her phone was missing.
Eudora remembered that Colbert had been very close to her just now and that he might have taken her
phone away…
Furious, Eudora thought that she couldn’t just sit here for her doom.
Her mind raced, trying to figure out how she could escape.
She stood up and looked around, realizing that the only way to access this floor was through the
elevator or the locked door at the end of the corridor.
And outside the door were two burly bodyguards.
Eudora wandered around and finally entered the bedroom. She found a lighter and wrapped a roll of
toilet paper around a mop. She ignited it and aimed it at the sprinkler system on the ceiling.
In just a second, the sprinkler system activated, spraying water continuously.
From the bedroom to the side room, then to the kitchen, bathroom — Eudora triggered all the sprinklers
and also set off the smoke detectors.
She heard the alarm ringing and immediately placed the mop in a corner and ran out of the bathroom.
"What's going on?"
"What caught on fire?"
The two bodyguards rushed in, their faces filled with panic.
Eudora shook her head. "I have no idea… I'm scared…"
"You go check over there, I'll check this side."
"Alright."
The two guards immediately ran inside to check the situation.
Eudora took the chance and ran to the elevator, pressing the button to go down from the 38th floor.
Escaping from the club, Eudora hopped onto a taxi.
She had initially planned to go to the hospital to find her foster parents, but she decided to go to the
Baldwins to get money first, and then she can take her foster parents to leave Kenison City with her.
When she donated bone marrow to the Baldwins' youngest son, her biological father promised to give
her fifty thousand as compensation when she left Kenison City.
Eudora disdained taking his money, but now she had no choice.
She was still waiting for her salary, and the only five thousand she had was used to cover Colbert's
medical expenses. She needed money to take her foster parents back to the countryside.
Without money, things would be much more difficult.
After more than half an hour, she arrived at Baldwin's mansion. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Eudora got out of the car and walked up to the entrance, ringing the doorbell.
Soon, the door opened, and Yvette, dressed in luxurious attire, looked at Eudora with a frown. She
asked disdainfully, "Why are you here?"
Nearing fifty, Yvette maintained her appearance exceptionally well, still looking young and elegant.
"Where's Glenn? I need to talk to him."
Eudora got straight to the point.
"How dare you call your father by his name?" Yvette snapped.
Eudora never understood why her parents treated Alva and her so differently.
"What's wrong with his name?" Eudora sneered, "Fine. Where's your damn husband? I need to talk to
him."
"You…! What a bumpkin! You have no manners whatsoever." Yvette was furious.
"Well, they say manners are taught by one's parents. As someone without her biological parents, I'm
lucky enough to still be alive. I don't give a damn about manners."
Eudora never thought she'd have to talk to her biological mother in such an attitude when she met her
again.
