Whitney was all in on getting that hairpin, so she was up for whatever Faye was asking as long as it wasn’t too wild. “What’s the request?”
Faye asked honestly, “Can I take a photo of you?”
Whitney chuckled, thinking that Faye was quite humorous. “Why not?” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Faye whipped out her phone like she’d just won the lottery, even turning on the beauty filter–but just a touch. One quick pic, and Whitney
looked like a million bucks. The camera loved her.
Jonah and Lina looked at Whitney’s photo, admiring her on the spot. Especially Lina, who excitedly asked Faye to send her a copy of the
photo.
Faye watched them with a smile and felt like she was back in her teenage days. Then her eyes sparked up. “Hey, I have this buddy who’s directing a movie. There’s this bit part, shows up just twice–once from the back and once in profile. No luck finding the right one, and he asked me if I knew someone a few days back. How about you give it
a B07”
Whitney was floored. Acting? That never crossed her mind.
When Whitney zoned out, Faye kept going, “No sweat on your time. Seriously, you’re perfect for the part, and the pay’s solid.”
Maybe Faye really clicked with Whitney because she switched to full puppy dog mode, grabbing Whitney’s arm and pulling the charm. Faye might’ve been forty–something, but she was aging like fine wine, cooler than ever. Whitney bet she was living the dream–loved by her hubby, far from what Whitney had been through.
With Faye being all cutesy, Whitney kind of melted and gave a shy nod. “Alright, I’m in.”
Lina was over the moon. “Great! That bitch Quincey wants in on showbiz, huh? Imagine you getting famous and popping up on TV. That’ll burn her up, and Thiago’s gonna kick himself,”
Whitney didn’t respond, whereas Jonah also agreed with Lina as he said, “I think it’s a great idea. Although it’s easy for you to become famous, it’s not easy to get yourself a suitable role. It’s better to act now instead of waiting.”
Whitney just gave them a half–smile and nodded. “Sure. We’ll touch base with your friends when we’ve got a sec. But don’t get your hopes up -they might not pick me.” Faye might think Whitney was perfect, but she wasn’t the movie director. Plus, this stuff was really about hitting it off both ways.
Before diving in, Whitney would want to scope out the script. She hadn’t thought about acting before, and she sure didn’t want her first time on set to be with a lame crew.
Lina was stoked Whitney said yes, and Faye, grinning ear to ear, saying, “Believe me, if you don’t nail this part, I don’t know who willl”
Not too far off, two dudes were hanging around. The guy dressed in black was Thiago–yeah, Whitney knew him all too well–but the dude in
gray was a mystery.
That gray–suited mystery man, named Finnick Massey, couldn’t take his eyes off Whitney, “Wow, talk about a knockout! She’s like a living work of art.”
Thiago had already peeped that it was Whitney, but seeing her again was something else. She wasn’t bringing the sad vibes from before or the distant coolness from the last time he saw her. Now, she was rocking this vintage look, somehow gentle and majestic at the same time. Thiago couldn’t ignore the fact that guys would go crazy for a gorgeous girl.
Catching Finnick’s intense look at Whitney, Thiago couldn’t help but stare even harder, his face going all serious.

*Thiago, you’ve been looking at her without blinking. Have you fallen in love with her? What about your Quincey?” Finnick asked.
At that, Thiago snapped out of it. “Quincey’s great, but there’s no sparks.”
Finnick was floored since Thiago had been all about marrying Quincey after his divorce. But here he was, saying he didn’t have the feelings
for her.
“So who’s got your heart? Your ex?” Finnick pushed. Although Finnick grew up with Thilago since childhood, after his father did terrible things in the past that resulted in his mother deciding to divorce him and marry a man who was very weak in financial strength compared to his father, to live in seclusion in this alley, Finnick went abroad and hadn’t returned for years. Hence, he had never seen Thiago’s ex–wife. Seeing Thiago’s mug. Finnick guessed the ex must’ve been second–rate compared to the beauty they were seeing
Thiago choked up for a second, looking at Whitney holding a fan, all poise and grace. “Not happening.”
“All right, I’ll stop here. Let’s go find my mom. Maybe we can say hello to the lady, too. I gotta ask Mom where she finds such a beautiful customer,” said Finnick.
This talk irked Thiago. ‘Whitney’s really got that much mojo? Even Finnick can’t resist, and dude’s picky with ladies. Has he changed his tune since coming home?”
Meanwhile, Whitney and company were heading out of the vintage clothes shop. They exchanged digits, and Faye even added Whitney on WhatsApp, rocking a profile pic that looked straight out of a kid’s cartoon. Whitney used to think only youngsters did that, but guess not.
Whitney was about to bounce, but Faye chimed in, “You should check out Jennie’s Biscuits right down the alley. They’ve got the best munchies around here.”
Whitney nodded gratefully, Faye liked Whitney from the moment they met, as Whitney had a calm attitude with a good look and temperament, so she thought it would be a blessing if anyone could marry Whitney.
Whitney nodded. “Thank you, Mrs. Massey.”
They were sidestepping Finnick, who had come running, when he tried to catch up to Whitney. But Faye grabbed him by the arm and gave him a piece of her mind, “Hey, kiddo, where do you think you’re off to?” Finnick glanced back but Whitney had ghosted.
Having said their goodbyes, Whitney felt like a weight had been lifted. She’d found the inspiration she was looking for. Somehow, without even planning it, they ended up right at Faye’s recommended snack spot.
