How I Remarry My Ex-Wife by Alvin Humphre

Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Hayden’s art was minimalist, and the art exhibition decoration refierted this. Gray and white fast treated.

which not only complemented his works but also conformed to his creative vision.

After reading the exhibition venue information, it was already three o’clock in the afternoon. Whitney changed her clothes and drops be tha

exhibition venue.

Hayden, dressed in black, held a design paper in his hand. His large black framed glasses obscured half of his handsome face. Whitney approached and leaned on his shoulder. “Hayden, what is your idea of this year’s exhibition venue?”

Hearing this, Hayden smiled dotingly. “I want to hear your opinion.” He didn’t have many specific requirements for the design of the exhibition venue, and he simply made some minor adjustments based on previous years. However, since Whitney asked, he must have an opinion. It was unusual for Whitney to take part in the art exhibition, so he naturally wanted to support her ideas.

“Well… Is this the blueprint for this year?” Whitney glanced at the drawings in his hand and suggested, “Hayden, I think we can incorporate some high–tech elements.”

“Oh?” Hayden raised his eyebrows and took off his glasses, waiting for Whitney to continue.

Whitney went up the white spiral steps in the exhibition center. “Art originates from life. The theme of this show is about the universe’s vastness, Exhibitions may be more immersive by using technological and scientific innovations.”

The spiral staircase and suspended stars were created to suggest a cosmic atmosphere. Whitney wanted to maximize this experience using

technology.

Hayden looked at Whitney’s beautiful face and couldn’t help but appreciate her even more.

He nodded approvingly. “Good idea. Art arises from and returns to life. Winnie, art should be simple without frills. There is always someone who can capture its beauty and specialty.”

‘Is that so?” she thought. It was the first time Whitney had heard Hayden’s ideas about art.

“Of course, I agree with you.” Hayden smiled. “The immersive experience can also help participants to enter the world created by the author to a certain extent.”

“Hayden,” Whitney called out.

“Huh?” Hayden hummed.

“I declare that from now on, you are my new idol.” Whitney’s eyes twinkled with stars. Her brother was so inclusive in the art field.

Hayden immediately turned around and said as he walked, “I called you here to help with the work. Don’t be silly.”

Whitney snickered silently, ‘Haha. He just can’t stand the compliments, shying away whenever he hears them.

Whitney shrugged and followed him. As they walked, they passed by some artwork in a corner. Just as Whitney stopped to glance at them, she suddenly heard Hayden’s voice. “Winnie, come here. It’s not safe over there.”

The staff were still transporting artworks, both large and small. Whitney also felt concerned about accidentally damaging the precious art pieces, so she took a few steps back.

Whitney caught a glimpse of a sculpture and frowned subconsciously. She thought she might have been mistaken and glanced at it again.

Hayden seemed to recall something, his expression suddenly changing as he turned around abruptly. “Winnie…

“Hayden.” Whitney squatted down with a palm–sized sculpture in her hand and looked at Hayden. “Am I seeing this wrong?”

“No, I…” Hayden began to explain, but his response was interrupted by the vibration of Whitney’s phone. She pursed her lips and read the incoming text message from Thiago: [If you wish to talk, please contact me at any time. The price is negotiable. I can pay as much as your

want.]

Whitney thought, ‘Is money always the only solution to this man’s problems? It was before, and it is now. He is self–centered and thinks he can meet others‘ demands. People like him lack the ability to use their intellect. That’s right. A half–wit like Thiago is a good match for Quincey.’

Whitney was furious and blacklisted the number. She put the sculpture back with a gloomy face.

Hayden thought she was upset about the sculpture, so he hurried to catch up with her. “Winnie, I forgot about it. Don’t worry. I’ll ask the studio to clean up.”

“Hayden, I’m not a petty person,” Whitney said.

The sculpture was crafted by Thiago. Once, Whitney had mistakenly thought it represented her, but in truth, it depicted Quincey. She had never been the muse.

“That’s not what I meant,” Hayden frowned.

Memories flooding back, Whitney’s eyes welled with tears; she rushed into Hayden’s arms, not wanting others to witness her vulnerability. Hayden sighed while holding her gently.

“Hayden, I’m not angry with you. Thiago texted me. After all this time, he still seems to enjoy looking down on everything,” Whitney said with a sniff. “There are truly heartless people in this world.”

Thiago was one of the examples.

“Silly girl, if he made you unhappy, why not return the favor instead of keeping it to yourself? I didn’t realize you were so forgiving,” Hayden remarked.

Whitney was at a loss for words, thinking to herself, ‘Hayden, I’m overwhelmed with emotion right now.‘ Yet she c made sense. She sobbed, took out her phone, found Thiago’s number in the blacklist, quickly typed out a message reasoned that she shouldn’t be the only one left frustrated.

After venting her anger, Whitney felt much better. However, Thiago, on the other side, was not as good.

Meanwhile, laughter and joy filled the Mackenzie manor. Thiago’s chilly look seemed out of place in the cheerful scene. Nonetheless, everyone was accustomed to his demeanor, so they didn’t comment further.

“Thiago, it’s time to prioritize your marriage with Quincey,” Alison remarked, offering a rib to Quincey, who enthusiastically took it. “You don’t have endless time, you know.”

This was what Quincey had always wanted, but she still spoke up for Thiago. “Mrs. Mackenzie, I’m willing to wait for Thiago, no matter how long it takes.”

“Listen to this, Thiago. You’re in the wrong here.” Alison was happy when she heard Quincey, but she still lectured Thiago.

Thiago had been eating quietly and ignored them. He didn’t even show any expression on his face, which made Quincey a little embarrassed. She only said that out of false modesty. However, who wouldn’t want their wedding to be settled sooner

Noticing Quincey’s unease, Alison cleared her throat and proposed, “I spoke with the priest earlier. Next month looks promising, and Quincey is available too. Let’s set the wedding for the tenth day of next month.”

“Mother!” Thiago objected sharply. “I’ve been swamped with work lately. Please don’t pressure me about this.”

“You…” Alison said.

“It’s all right, Mrs. Mackenzie!” Quincey was shocked and hurriedly meditated. “Thiago is right. The company is currently gearing up for a major project.”

‘Is it the partnership with Indigo Corporation?‘ she wondered.
